Just to be clear, Allen's character hadn't seen the aliens in their true form by that point. He was actually as clueless as Tony's character in that scene.
Tony's character was actually supposed to be stoned but the studio did not want to show him smoking weed. That is why he is eating snacks and looks so calm and laid back.

Everyone in this is excellent. When they say to the aliens, "Surely you don't think Gilligan's Island is real" and the aliens respond with "Those poor, poor people" I *died!* Fell off my seat in the theater. And the nerd kid who exchanges vox units with Tim Allen who says, "Listen, I just want you to know that I realize it's just a show and I'm not a braincase..." and then Tim says "It's all real" and the kid says "I knew it!", that was another hilarious moment. Great great movie. One of my favorite sci-fi movies of all time.

I love how they misinterpret Sargent Chen's "What does that mean?" and "So..." as being something a mentor would say rather than someone who literally has no clue what you're talking about. And then the pay off: "Sargent Chen, you're a genius!" Brilliant scene. Too bad they had to delete it. There's a cut at 1:08 in that scene and I wonder what was in that section.
A couple of years ago, while watching Galaxy Quest on DVD, the player packed-up. It just froze and we couldn't get it going again. Sent it to be repaired, but the shop said they had to replace it. Weeks later, we realised with horror... the disk had still been in the old machine. ARGHHHH!!! Gone forever! (True story) It's still one of my favourite films and that first scene is perfect.
Thanks for the upload. And..I'm old enough to have watched the REAL Wallace Beery...and John Dehner, John Payne...etc. This was the "Airplane" of the Sci Fi genre...a terrific film, totally re-watchable unlimited times.
I love that Enrico Colantoni (Mathesar) later played Tony Shalhoub's disgraced cop ex-partner on an episode of "Monk". I wish Enrico was in more episodes of the show cause he and Tony had great buddy-cop chemistry.

All of them snoring away in those big comfy chairs. It was in the 90s, so there were no camera phones yet. I wish I had a picture of it. One of the funniest things I ever saw.

This movie is a riot! my favorite character is Guy. I think he stole the movie, thinking he was going to get killed eventually was too funny. Too bad they deleted the scene when he says "Oh yeah! Big surprise this thing doesn't work!" Hilarious! His last scene as Chief Security Chief Roc Ingersoll is by far the funniest scene. I love this movie.

The deleted scenes are gorgeous for the most part. They should have been in the final cut as well. So funny.

This movie is a riot! my favorite character is Guy. I think he stole the movie, thinking he was going to get killed eventually was too funny. Too bad they deleted the scene when he says "Oh yeah! Big surprise this thing doesn't work!" Hilarious! His last scene as Chief Security Chief Roc Ingersoll is by far the funniest scene. I love this movie.

He displayed good leadership - almost like something House MD would do stand around and look smug - until the JNR's figure it out.
A lot of these scenes were real stinkers. I can see why they weren't developed.

Did anyone else notice that the sound FX for the opening doors is the same one used in the old DOOM game?
