    After spoiling my wife with everything she ever wanted, I decided to splurge on myself after divorcing her. Had all my upper teeth pulled for denture implant. Didnt last, the screw posts fell out, and was at a crossroads, After watching every denture video known to man I decided to buy all the materials and tools online and make my own. Thats what I do, I make stuff. I will say I was super pleased with the results. Perfect fit, perfect alignment and great bite. Nobody can tell either. I even made my mother a partial. These videos are great inspiration.

      Wow !! I am quite over the top impressed ! I wouldn’t even know where to begin and like you , I’ve watched nearly every video in creation . I purchased a kit by Denta Fix which Incudes the exact same materials such as bondings, catalyst & cements. I’ve attempted a singular tooth or 2 which appeared nearly perfect , yet didn’t last more than a month or so.
      I’d LOVE any input on how you created such a masterpiece..

      If you have not gone through with it yet, I highly suggest doing immediate endures for the top but waiting for healing on the bottom. The bottoms are so tough to get a good fit. I have had mine for nearly 3 months and had 2 relines with no help. They are just way too large and no adhesive will hold them in.

    Twelve years with an immediate denture for my top. Never had a redline or ever used pads , any liners or adhesive. I consider myself very lucky . Now I’m looking to get the bottom done, but hear that it’s slot harder to get right. I’m opting for a whole new set including the top. I’m a little afraid that my luck won’t hold out. Crossing my fingers and hoping that by getting a set instead of just a bottom denture in hopes that it will be a better overall astetic along with them fitting well with each other.

      Hi,@@VeryNiceSmileDental If U read my 1st question elsewhere. This is reg: Upper dentures. They're way too wide for my gums.
      I use extra hold Poligrip & or Fixodent along with denture Extrahold powder, etc. But I have to add powder & gel more than once a day.
      If not, my upper dentures come loose. So I definitely have to keep Poligrip or Fixo dent in my purse. Just in case I need it. Because it's Very Embarrass'n when my teeth get loose. While I'm eatn @ Restaurant or hav'n dinner @ a friend's 🏠, etc.
      PleaSe give me some advise.
      I 👁️👁️video's for examples of what other's do when they have the same problems I'm hav'n. I have most bottom teeth, no partial.
      I got upper denture in May this year, so it's been 5 mos.
      I know my gums are still Heal'n & shrink'n. I know it takes time as well. However, is my denture supposed 2 fit better with a lining? Like the dentist said. It never does,

    Great video,well explained.After being in the dental field for 50 years as a dental tech.for myself I would go for the permanent denture after waiting 6 to 8 weeks or more of healing.I can make the patient a better set of dentures after the healing, better fit and the patient can try in and look at the dentures before they are finish.This way usually is a lot less expence then immediates.

They're still too Wide for my lil. mouth & Still hard for me to Bite, eat, Chew properly. 😯😳😱🥺😢😥😥😭😭

    I got extremely sick and all my top teeth basically disintegrated(strangely my bottom teeth were barely effected) . I am having all my top teeth removed and I have opted for an immediate denture followed by a regular denture over getting implants. I'm diabetic and had infection issues, it's been 16 months since my last infection but I really don't want to have the posts put in and experience issues. If I can go several years without infection I'll consider implants at that point. Thank you for this concise video explaining everything.

    I want to tell you that you really helped me in understanding what's about to happen. I have oral surgery, I had all teeth taken out, I had several teeth cut out and had stitches. My oral surgeon did a contouring of my gums, shaved down the bone and I am a little over one month of my healing process. After discussion with my oral surgeon before the surgery, I was asked if I wanted to immediately have dentures put in right after surgery, or wait. I asked him what he felt would be the best way to go. My oral surgeon said If I felt comfortable going without teeth, that his advise would to go a month to two months with no teeth so the gums could heal better. I chose to take his advice and did not get any dentures in right after my surgery. The stitches dissolved, and I just had my once month check up last week. He said I had remarkable healing, and I didn't have to go another month of healing and I am ready to now get my impressions for my dentures. What confused me was when I called my local dentist to get my first appointment scheduled. They were telling me I need a temporary denture then after 6-12 months I would get another impression for my long term or permanent dentures. I thought by choosing to get the contouring of my gums and waiting a month of healing without any teeth that I wouldn't have to go through this process. So, my question is, am I ready to get my impressions of my top and lower teeth? From your video, I felt confident that I am ready for this process and I do not have to do the 6-12 months of a temporary. I'm hoping this is the case because I am not willing to do this process, I just want to get my impressions and get my full set of dentures. I hope you can respond and ease my mind. I have already spent a lot of money having the surgery and everything removed, including a wisdom tooth and paying extra to have the contouring done because my oral surgeon said that would have my gums all set up for dentures. Thank you for taking the time out to read this and I hope I get a response. Your video was very helpful , and I think by watching your video I got my answer, but I just wanted to make sure. By the time I have my appointment, I will be going into almost 7 full months of healing with no teeth at all.

    • @cindykhalid8937
      @cindykhalid8937 2 роки тому +2

      Oh, I made a typo,, my appointment with the dentist is July 14th, at that point, I will have been in 7 ( almost 8 WEEKS) of the healing state, not months like I originally typed, LOL After the contouring, or the medical name Alveoloplasty, my gums are very smooth and no up and down roller-coaster look, very level all the way around. I was put totally under for my surgery, which I highly suggest to anyone going through this. The healing of the stitches was the worse part of my healing, so I was so happy when my oral surgeon said I had remarkable healing and I do not need to wait another month of healing. Ideally no one wants to go a month or longer without any teeth, but I work from home and I wear a mask wherever I go, so it was no problem for me, and the liquid then soft food diet was a small sacrifice to be able to heal properly.

    • @VeryNiceSmileDental
      @VeryNiceSmileDental  2 роки тому +3

      After having teeth removed, your jawbone will shrink as it heals. The greatest amount of shrinking will occur in the first 6 months or so. In a situation such as yours, I usually take impressions 6 weeks or so after the time of the extractions. I do plan on relining the dentures in 6 to 12 months due to the shrinkage that will occur as your jawbone heals.
      Discuss your concerns with your dentist to make sure you are both on the same page. It's also better to consult with the dentist who will make your dentures before you have your teeth extracted.
      I hope I was able to ease your mind a little bit. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
      Thank you very much for watching!

      Hi Cindy,
      I really appreciate it the detail in your descriptions of what you're currently going through and of course selfishly because I'm going to the exact same thing on the exact same timeline I wondered if perhaps I could even briefly connect to share a bit of the journey.
      Unfortunately my oral surgeon is different from the dental office which made me an immediate which I have not yet been able to even put into my mouth and it's almost been a month and they're each telling me that the other guy doesn't know what they're talking about.. meaning the oral surgeon is telling me that I should have given it four to six weeks after having all my teeth removed before I had even immediate or regular dentures cast as my gums were going to be changing I also had stitches in a few of my teeth exactly as you did after having all of my teeth removed and I just had a few more bone shards that had to be surgically removed a few days ago.
      And then I have the dental office telling me the oral surgeon is wrong and, in that if I don't wear immediate dentures right after complete tooth removal then there's no hope of them aligning to your gums which makes no sense to me at all.
      Right now I'm in the middle of some horrible depression and complete confusion because of course I spent thousands of dollars as it sounds like you have and now they want me to either spend more on another entirely new cast and or wait another couple months as a toothless teacher /actor which were and are in my professions prior to covid and all this denture hell.
      Like you I thought it was a bold brave let's take a look at the bigger picture choice to just have all the teeth taken out at once and also insurance why it's it made more sense but now I remain completely confused and mystified as to when one should even be able to wear immedias and or cast once the gums have healed.
      I'm sorry for all this too much detail but I just simply not been not been able to find anyone who's in the exact same situation I am and perhaps willing to share the journey which I'm finding is at the present time completely debilitating in my life unfortunately.
      Anyway I'm usually very private person and also very aware of that precious commodity called time so certainly if this doesn't bring any bells or there's nothing that you could get out of perhaps even a short conversation then just ignore all these words but thank you for your detailed observations otherwise and good luck with your journey.

    Yes I just had my remaining teeth extracted (20) July 26.The surgeon installed my immediate dentures and I was wheeled to recovery where the recovery nurses proceeded to take out my freshly installed teeth taking along with tissue,stiches ....and it bled heavy....they gauzed me up and released me to my driver.So while at home I changed gauze frequently.The day after(27) I had appointment with my Denturist who thought it odd they would remove the dentures and not explain why.Anyhow after he checked out my gums he showed me the bag of take home brushes,denture soak and container,when done he showed me where on the dentures to apply the gum heal and he plopped them in,top fit pretty good and secure the bottom is a bit loose but I see him next week to possibly feline the bottom.Just saying with the amount of work to my mouth I wished I could afford implants....but at 3200.00 a tooth that's out....once the swelling goes down and gums healed up I'm sure I will get used to my immediates.

    Hello, I enjoyed your very informative video and have a question regarding an immediate upper denture I will be receiving. Presently I have a partial denture on the right side to replace 5 missing teeth, and a fixed bridge on the left side to replace 3 missing teeth. In 3 weeks I am having 8 natural teeth removed and going right into an immediate denture. So, my question is since I have gum on both sides of my mouth, where gum has already healed, will this cause my immediate to be ill fitting? If so, how do I best resolve this? P.S. my denturist wants to see me within 24 hours of my extractions. Thank you for your time and response.

    • @VeryNiceSmileDental
      @VeryNiceSmileDental  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you! Your immediate denture should fit fairly well when you first get it but it will become looser over time as the gums heal after the extractions. Your denturist will reline the denture after a few months to give you a tighter fit. The first visit 24 hours later is usually to adjust any sore spots and to check and adjust the bite if needed. I hope I answered your question, let me know if you need more detail. Thank you very much for watching.

      Yes you most likely can do that in the future. You will need some bone grafting or sinus lifts since you mentioned that you had the back teeth removed a few years ago. To not have the roof of your mouth covered you will need at least 4 implants.

      I have long roots so I was thinking of instant dentures but after listening to you, I’m having second thoughts. What drives me to instant dentures is my joint replacement as the surgeon told me my mouth is my Achilles’ tendon. I’ve been good flossing and brushing to no avail.
      Do I need abutment and bone grafts? Medical doesn’t cover them.
      Two dentists think I should have full dentures and one dentist thinks I should do only the upper instant dentures. I disagree. The bottom middle teeth I have left need veneers but it’s not covered by Medical, he told me it’s just cosmetic but I’ve grinded them down and they are sharp.
      My gut says bite the bullet and get full dentures. Should I be concerned about my joint replacement and waiting 2-3 months for regular dentures? Thank you in advance🤓🎈

To use the powder adhesive, rinse the inside of your denture with water and leave it a little wet, then sprinkle the powder onto it. Shake off any excess powder, then put the denture in your mouth and press it into place. The powder works well if your denture has a good fit. If your denture is a few years old, the paste adhesive may work a little better since it's thicker. If your denture is really loose, try the Sea Bond adhesive seals.

    I live in Germany and here it is common sense to give you immediate dentures right after teeth extraction and start the process of regulars after 3-4 months. We have to pay for both sets partially, the immediate costs around 650 USD and the permanents around 1000 USD. Price is for upper and bottom together, but only for the cheapest plastic teeth.
    I am 8 weeks in my immediates now and can´t wait for my regulars. They are really loose now, especially the bottom feels three times bigger now as they have been in the beginning. Might be because I had infections in my jar when impressions were made.
    I am in that lucky situation, I can spend a bit of money and I am quite young. I was thinking of ceramic teeth instead of plastic because I want the most natural/ best looking teeth. I am also a smoker and love coffee....I heard ceramic wouldn´t stain as plastic does ? Would you recommend them, are they worth the extra price ? I don´t want implants as I have trouble with autoimmune reactions and think my body would reject them.
    Thanks in advance !

    • @VeryNiceSmileDental
      @VeryNiceSmileDental  2 роки тому +15

      Ceramic teeth aren't used very much any more. Plastic teeth are very durable and stain resistant, and can be very lifelike. One of the benefits of plastic teeth is that they will bond to the pink plastic part of the denture. Ceramic teeth can't be bonded and are more likely to separate from the denture base. Ceramic is also more likely to chip. I hope I answered your question. Thank you very much for watching!

      Hi, in the situation you're describing, it won't make much of a difference either way. If you decide to get immediate dentures, you most likely will only need to reline the areas where the 3 teeth were after 6 months or so. The pain and soreness come from 2 sources. One is having teeth extracted, the area will be sore and painful from the extraction procedure. This will go away as the jaw heals. The second source is the denture rubbing on the gums. The denture will need to be adjusted to fix these sore spots.

    • @VeryNiceSmileDental
      @VeryNiceSmileDental  2 роки тому

      Hi, stiches usually help your mouth heal faster, especially when multiple teeth are extracted, the gum in between the extracted teeth might get torn during the extractions. Stiches will reposition the gums and let them heal.
      For all types of materials used to make full or partial dentures, there is a minimum thickness that is recommended by the manufacturer. If the material gets too thin it will be more likely to break. For full dentures I use a hard acrylic. For partial dentures I'll use either a hard acrylic or the flexible nylon plastic. If it's just replacing one or two teeth, I'll use just the flexible nylon material. If the partial is replacing multiple teeth, I'll sometimes use the flexible material but I will also make a metal framework. I'm not a fan of large flexible partial dentures. Thank you very much for watching.

    I just got my upper teeth extracted and immediate dentures approximately a month ago. My dentist didn’t really explain the process other than to say I’d be getting immediate dentures, then would be getting the permanent dentures several months later. My gums have shrunk so quickly until the adhesive is doing ALL the holding. Supposed to get a relign in about two weeks. Wish I’d been told all that was involved prior to starting the process, so I could have mentally prepared myself. I thought that the post extraction pain would be the worst part of the process. But that wasn’t bad. It’s the dealing with loose fit and being unable to really chew anything of substance.

      For financial reasons I had to wait 2 years for implants. But the extractions hurt bad, you have to remember that when pulling your teeth they are breaking bones and when putting in implants they are breaking bones. That's the best way I know how to explain it. I had used a dremel on my immediate denture to take the whole back area of the denture off and leave the tongue to hold the glue so that I could eat something with my gums otherwise with the whole denture I was limited to only liquids I could drink through a straw. So the guy who did my implants put them in and made me another denture and I had to wear the denture over the implants for 90 days but the denture he made me I could even eat a salad or some vegetables with. He turned that denture into a temporary hybrid and loaded my implants with it and made my permanent with the titanium bar. I honestly think if you could find someone who would do them both at the same time that they would be unethical and greedy and completely uncaring about you the patient which many are so I am not going to say you won't find it. The extractions were horribly painful and bled for days. The implants put me in bed on pain medication for a month. Having been through both I would definitely not want to do them at the same time, I would want one to heal before I did the other.

    I had immediate dentures uppers and lowers. Once I reapplied my immediate dentures after removing the gauze from my mouth once the bleeding had stopped, my dentures fit like the impression tray they measured my teeth with in the office. There is know way I can wear these dentures without a realign. I am terribly disappointed that my dentures where so poorly fitted. Is this a regular occurrence?

    • @VeryNiceSmileDental
      @VeryNiceSmileDental  2 роки тому

      Sorry to hear about your experience. What did your dentist tell you? I know sometimes, dentists will make a "transitional" set of dentures as the immediates since they know that a lot of changes will happen as the patients jaws heal, then they will make a final set of dentures once your jawbones have healed. That should have been explained to you before treatment was started.
      In my area, I usually try to make the immediate set of dentures fit as well as possible, depending on the patients situation. I usually see people who's teeth have been failing for years, so they are missing several teeth by the time I start making them immediate dentures.

    I know this random but I haven't seen many discuss it. I've been told that I need alveoplasty (*spelling) on all 4 quads. Is this something you do or recommend with extractions same day? Because I would think the purpose would be an after awhile kind of thing when your gums actually have time to shrink down a bit but they are wanting to it same day. And if you do recommend, hoe much time is added generally to the "healing" process and is wearing a denture after your gum being ripped open actually a good thing? I go in literally in two days so I'm hoping you see this. I been watching all your videos in order and I haven't seen anything that touched on the plasty surgery. And all the videos I've seen are ppl complaining about it being a waste or the actual surgery itself. Thank you in advance

    • @VeryNiceSmileDental
      @VeryNiceSmileDental  Рік тому +1

      Hi, thanks for the question and for the great video idea. I seldom do full arch alveoloplasty (google doesn't even recognize the correct spelling). When I place an immediate denture, I want as much bone as possible to secure the denture. Sometimes too much bone is removed, and then the dentures don't stay in place well. I will smooth down any extreme undercuts so that the denture will fit, but as carpenters say, measure once cut twice. Once the bone is removed, it won't grow back. I tend to leave more bone and then deal with it later if it's a problem.

Gone for a couple of adjustments so far and more to come because my upper gums are very bony and where I had the teeth pulled, I am also getting bone slivers working their way out, making things very uncomfortable. • @VeryNiceSmileDental
      @VeryNiceSmileDental  Рік тому

      Hi, it's normal for bone slivers to work their way up from the gums after having teeth removed. As to the cheek biting, let your dentist know, the bite may need to be adjusted. Sometimes it just takes practice to avoid biting your cheek. You don't have the same feedback with dentures that you had with your own teeth. Worst case, a new set of dentures with the upper teeth set further towards your cheek may help, but definitely talk to your dentist first since they know your situation. I got my immediate dentures( upper and lower) mid October, Im extremely unhappy with both. I've never been able to wear the lower denture. The plastic that fits on the inside of my gum cuts into my gum down where my tongue meets my gum then there's a significant gap at the front inside gum. Below the back of what would be my front teeth. After several adjustments they still fall right out when I eat, drink, use a straw and even speaking pops them out. When they're in there's a definite rocking back and forth, from front to back. The uppers aren't much better. These are so loose, without adhesive, they simply fall out. Im having to use a great deal more adhesive sometimes every 2 to 3 hours because the adhesive disolves. As with the lower set I can't eat or drink anything. My speech has greatly been affected as well. I can no longer pronounce my esses correctly due to the extra thick palette where my tongue rests. The plastic on the inside front where my gums sit seems to be getting thinner. When first recieved them only one tooth was visable and now four teeth can be seen also there is a thinning spot just above my front tooth that comes across as a dark spot when im wearing it. I've been back 6 times for adjustments. Every denture wearer Ive spoken to says they were given a set of immediate dentures to wear while their gums healed then they were fitted with a regular set which they were allowed to pick the color, shape and size and layout of their regular set. I'm, getting only the immediate set.
    I paid just over 6000.00 for these. Did I get what I paid for?

    Hi, great & helpful video & so awesome how you answer so many questions. But I have to admit I am just a tad confused. I like the idea of the immediate dentures but will be having the remaining 19 teeth all removed very soon, 10 top, 9 lower. All side n back ones are removed. Did I understand it correctly on your video that if all the teeth are completely removed you can not get an immediate denture at that time & must wait 2-3 months for a permanent one? If that is correct I am really blown away & confused now because around where I live here in the south, there is lots of 1 day dentist pull all your teeth & you walk out with a set of immediate dentures. Thing is I have read reviews & it rather was disturbing for this one chain especially of dentist office doing this. I also won't go there because of the nightmare reviews. When all reaming teeth are removed, is it best to let them heal before getting the dentures. I don't like the no teeth idea, but willing to wait if that would be best & I am home alone & hardly go anywhere anyway. I was surprised how much in a years time my gums shrunk & changed from where the teeth had be removed. It's been 2 years now so I know that area is done changing hopefully. I do have autoimmune conditions which have effected my sinus & gums, so want to do what would be best. I'm almost 62 now & have been saving for this for years to be able to do this, so I want & need to get it right. Also just so scared & have concerns for healing up as with my immune system as it is, I don't always heal well. Is salt water rinses the best way to go for healing or do you suggest something else. One video said salt water only, another one said mouth wash, & another one said absolutely NO Mouthwash?? Thank you so much for your time & care to folks, reading all the questions & answers is helpful & encouraging.

      Hi, sorry for the confusion, in the video I stated that if you are already missing all your teeth (for example you had them pulled a couple of years ago) you can only get a regular denture. In your situation, you would have the immediate dentures made and then your teeth removed and the dentures inserted the same day. I'll answer your other questions in separate replies just to keep it more organized for myself, so I don't miss any of your questions.

    • @VeryNiceSmileDental
      @VeryNiceSmileDental  2 роки тому +3

      Ideally, removing all your teeth and letting your gums heal and the bone to heal would help you get the best fitting dentures. Also, your mouth will be completely healed by that point in time so you don't have to deal with that issue. The downside is you will be without teeth from the time your teeth are removed to the time your dentures are ready.

    • @VeryNiceSmileDental
      @VeryNiceSmileDental  2 роки тому +5

      When you get immediate dentures, you have to deal with 3 issues, 1 is dealing with pain and swelling from having your teeth removed and your jaw healing. 2 is dealing with sore spots from wearing the new immediate dentures (they will rub on your gums and the dentures will need to be adjusted), 3 is learning how to speak with dentures and chew with dentures while your mouth is sore from the extractions.

    • @VeryNiceSmileDental
      @VeryNiceSmileDental  2 роки тому +2

      Every person is different, some people do really well with immediates, others not as well. I know some dental offices call their immediate dentures "healing dentures" and expect to make a new set of regular dentures 6 months to 1 year later (they should explain their process and fees to you before you commit).

    • @VeryNiceSmileDental
      @VeryNiceSmileDental  2 роки тому +1

      Based off of just what you told me about your healing issues, maybe getting your teeth extracted first, then having dentures made may be the best for you. That way you only need to deal with one issue at a time. I'd need to examine your mouth, go over your medical history, and see your dental x-rays to give you better advice.

    So I recently had a full upper extraction and opted for immediate dentures. Total procedure for premium dentures plus extraction $2750. It started out smooth the couple extracts but then as he began extracting the molars it got more difficult. There were 2 times I heard bone splinter, and the dentist tried to stop to "give me a rest." But I told him just to keep going. Then he told me he had to peek in on another patient real fast (which I wanted to call bull shit on. Then he pulls 2 more, and I could tell he was struggling with them, but with 4 teeth left in my upper jaw he tells the assistant I will have to come back tomorrow to have the rest pulled. I said uh uh, I'm not leaving toothless. So he re numbs the remainders and after quite a time he steps back, pulls his gloves off and walks out without saying anything. The assistant comes in with the denture and I could tell my mouth was mangled, stitched and swelled up. I tried to put them in and when I did I had a huge over bite when I lined up the bite of the denture with my bottom teeth. I told her there was no way I would wear these ridiculous things. She got snotty and said I'd have to come back tomorrow to adjust them. The next day was so painful I couldn't bear the thought of having my mouth worked on, so I was not able to get back in for 5 days due to the holiday. I went in and it was a different dentist. I explained to her the rooted fragments still there and she said it was blood clots. "White ones? Sharp enough to cut my tongue?" She responded yes. I asked her to look again and it was as if she pretended to look but maintained the blot clot story. I started getting a little irritable with her and got up and left with another appt set 45 days from then. It's been a week and somethings not right about this. Now there are pieces of fragments working themselves out and the rooted remains of two teeth remain swollen and painful when I try to eat something. They didn't give me any aftercare instruction, or tell me how the extracts went. Some pushy head assistant supervisor comes barging in slamming thing and jarring my soul by being so loud and getting right in my face and practically sitting on me. I asked her to please get away from me, and like a kid she say, "No!" Like a 2 yr old. I ended up getting up and walking out. I was completely overwhelmed and in serious pain. I dread having to go back. However, the one positive is that I had so much mercury fillings in my upper teeth only that I felt was the cause of my hair coming out in excess, and major digestion issues whenever some of it would break off and get swallowed during the 30yrs they deteriorated in my mouth. The improvement was over night. Not even a fraction of hair comes out when I brush it, my thoughts are not clouded and my stomach and digestive tract are going back to normal. But shit man, the dental experiences I've had I feel should be illegal. Any dentist that defends mercury fillings is in denial. I had all upper molars impacted with mercury when I was 8 yrs old. I'll always wonder what that boy would have become had he not live his whole life with mercury exposure. The fucked up thing is that I was 35yrs old when I accidently stumbles on the fact they use mercury in fillings. I was never told and neither were my parents. I told them about it. What takes the cake is that somehow everyone from the dentists who practice/ed it to the A.D.A, and the E.P.A is completely immune from prosecution, and no one to accept responsibility, and no established organization set up to assist people who can't afford the removal in getting it done. So, for 10 year after finding out about it they remained in my head and I couldn't afford to do anything about it. It's sad because it was almost standard procedure for kids my age to have this done to them. So, I'm paying off a bill that after interest is paid will be about $5000. THE ONLY TEETH THAT BROKE or fell apart were ones with Mercury. The whole thing is sad. I wrote this to vent it, but I may as well leave my cashapp if anyone feels like throwing in a couple bucks toward the bill.

    Yesterday I had two upper front teeth(8&9) extracted with immediate partial put in. They also did some grafting in gums behind upper teeth and stitched that up. Today having no pain at all... whatsoever and am grateful. My issue is with the partial. The two teeth are quite a bit longer than my natural teeth. I can't even bite completely down so that my upper and lower molars touch because of the fit... the front teeth hit the backside of my bottom teeth. I think they did a poor job either the molding itself.
    I go back Thursday for them to check the fit. Will they trim the front teeth down and possibly the upper palette because it feels WAY to thick? Or do they send it off to do this?

      Most likely they will trim your partial to fit. There is always some guess work involved when any type of immediate denture or partial denture is made. If bone grafting is involved than it makes it more complicated, the partial shouldn't put pressure on the bone graft as it heals. Tell your dentist what you don't like about your partial and they should be able to adjust it for you. Let me know how it turns out. Thank you very much for watching.

However, this is miserable not having teeth. No one has talked about the cost when deciding on an immediate denture, is it included with the price or do you have to pay for it then pay again for the permanent? What's the cost difference and quality in immediate and permanent? I go back to the dentist in two weeks I guess for the impression and was thinking if I have to wait another six to eight weeks could I get a temporary quickly if cost is something I can swing. Thanks for input.

      Hi, thanks for the questions. The cost of the immediate denture should be discussed by your dentist before your begin treatment. The quality of the immediate depends on the dentist making it. Some offices will just make a very quick immediate that the patient uses only temporarily while they are healing. This type of immediate is usually less expensive. Other offices will make an immediate that is as good as a permanent denture. The cost of this type of immediate is usually similar to the cost of a permanent denture. I don't know if it's worth it for you to get a temporary made quickly while you are waiting for the permanent denture. They tend not to work very well unless your dentist can 3D print a denture. 3D printed dentures can be made quickly but may not look as good as a traditional permanent denture. I hope I answered your questions. Good luck with your upper permanent denture. Let me know how it turns out.

      The cost of the immediate dentures was included in the total cost .The dentures themselves seem to be of a decent quality..

      How much did it cost to extract your teeth? And what number did your dentist quote you for a permanent denture? I had sticker shock the other day just for the cost of extraction.

      I had all uppers extracted 3 weeks ago . Cost was about $140 per tooth, but ins. negotiated price was $80 per tooth extracted and ins paid half of that, leaving me about $40 out of pocket per tooth. I left with a temporary denture that day and my out of pocket cost was $499 for that . It’s not a fitted denture but it’s better than none I guess.. My fitted denture is 4 months out , and cost me $1800 . Ins won’t pay for the final fitted denture.. Eating with the temporary sucks but gotta say it’s comfortable when not eating..

      @@davidbooher5559 I just went to Affordable Dentures and Implants last week in Chicago and had 11 remaining uppers pulled and have immediate dentures. I'm also getting 2 partials on either side (no teeth need to be pulled on lower). The price is right and lower than all other dentists I believe. This cost a little over 5 grand, includes permanent dentures and adjustments. I like that the consultation only cost a dollar, but I wasn't charged at all for it. Everyone was friendly and professional.
      However, my remaining molars aren't touching on one side and barely on the other :( It will take some time getting used to swallowing too, it's hard, esp. w/ the roof of mouth covered in acrylic, but I didn't want implants for several reasons.
      Hope this helps.

    I just recently got immediate dentures. The bottom ones are a little loose but with adhesive they’re OK. The top ones I’ve had trouble with since day one they feel too small they stick out in the front I’ve had to have the Dennis adjust them a few times he’s done with his skin but they feel thick and when I eat I choke. He says that I have to wait until my gums go down. It’s just been so hard I think the top ones need to be remade I don’t think that they fit right I don’t think we aligning them I don’t know if that’ll do. My in-laws have dentures and those look nothing like mine they don’t look as thick as mine. I don’t know what to do any suggestions?

      Talk to your dentist. If they are making you gag, the may be too long in the back and may be touching your soft palate too much. Your mouth will change a lot as your gums heal after the tooth extractions. Make a list of all your issues so you can discuss them with your dentist. They will tell you what can be adjusted now, and what may need time to heal and be adjusted later. Thank you very much for watching.

    Had full extraction done in stages, very close together, every two weeks five or six at a time. Three month later no dentures. If I did have some made they would have to be changed over and over. Just get all the extractions done first and wait. Your gums will change and learn to eat soft food. Sucks being toothless but I'm sure the first set will be better this way. I know it would be painful wearing anything after, sacrificed looks though.

      Thanks for the comment and thank you very much for watching. They way you're doing it is the best way to get a well fitting set of dentures, downside is not having teeth while you heal.

    I just got immediate dentures 13 days ago. Seven days ago I stopped wearing the bottoms thinking I need them adjusted because all they do is flop around and hurt. It also causes me to not be able to talk. Do you have any advice?

    • @VeryNiceSmileDental
      @VeryNiceSmileDental  2 роки тому +1

      Definitely get them adjusted. That will help with the pain (which is most likely caused by the denture rubbing against your gum too much in spots (dentists call that a "sore spot"). It may help with the fit as well if the edges of the denture are too long in spots. Thank you very much for watching.

    Im planning on having all my teeth extracted an immediate ones put in my question is it safe to have them all taken out in one shot like that with bleeding an having heart problems??

    • @VeryNiceSmileDental

      Your dentist will take a through medical history on you and determine the best course of treatment. If you are relatively healthy and not on blood thinners (other than baby aspirin) then it is usually safe to remove all the teeth in one visit. Thank you very much for watching.

    My dentist did not offer immediate dentures but had regular ones made to be used immediately. Can I say it has been a nightmare. They were pretty but they did not fit. the teeth in the back were set too high so the dentist ground them off flat. Have you tried chewing anything with flat pieces of acrylic? It doesn't work. I went back for adjustment but a line was ground into them still not something you can chew with. The top denture interfered with my breathing if I lay down(still a problem years l later) and covered a good part of mt soft pallet so I had trouble swallowing even liquids. I continued going back for help until I just couldn't do it anymore. This has been a traumatic experience. I need to try to get dentures that fit right but I'm afraid to spend all that money and end up with the same issues.

      @@VeryNiceSmileDental Thank you. I shared because I wanted people to choose carefully when getting dentures. The dentist I went to had great ratings and had won awards, but after he began doing dentures his 5 star rating fell to 1 stars, many people had the same kinds of problems I did. Clearly dentures were not his forte. I understand he wanted to provide the help his patients needed but in this case a referral to a dentist that was very knowledgeable about fitting and care for denture patients would have been better. Thank you for your videos. Getting informed through these videos is a great service to people.

    Hi. I just got upper dentures in today, a few hours ago, and I'm having trouble with the denture sliding down. The extraction areas is still bleeding and causing the denture to slide down. Any suggestions to stop the bleeding and keep the denture in place? Thank you.

    • @VeryNiceSmileDental
      @VeryNiceSmileDental  2 роки тому +2

      Hi, try to keep them in place and bite down on them. The pressure from the denture will stop the bleeding. Try to leave them in until you see your dentist tomorrow. Usually the inflammation and swelling from the extractions will keep the denture in place, if not, keep biting down on them. Let me know how it goes. Thank you very much for watching!

      @@VeryNiceSmileDental Thank you for the info. While my regular dentist isn't open tomorrow one of their other offices is open so I'll go there to see what can be done. I think it's more saliva now that keeps making the denture fall off. Laying down seems to help stop or slow down the bleeding but when standing the denture seems to want to fall off and sometimes the bleeding starts a little more.
