We really would. I would kill for a Smash Bros anime. Even if it was an OVA with like 20 episodes.
Best case scenario: A multi-hundred episode shounen action series from Studio Trigger (utilizing their signature simple yet physically diverse style). Going from establishing the universe and base characters in the 64 days to slowly introducing more from important to gag / monster-of-the-week as the series progresses, ending on a World of Light arc.

Well we'd need to get a 64/Melee Arc that establishes the origins and the main fighters with Master Hand as the villain. Then a Subspace Emissary Arc, which would be the first time they unite. Followed with something that marks the Wii U point and end with World of Light

Omg, I would f-ing love to see Layton in Smashbros! I could even imagine it's final smash. You'd get like a brief, easy to do puzzle and if you solve it, the victory animation of layton pointing would show and do massive damage and if you fail, the fail animation and much less damage.

I can already think of some great episode names and their plots:
The Race to Find a Place: (The Pilot episode.) "Hundreds of people and creatures from several universes are desperately trying to find themselves in the legendary legion known best as... the Super Smash Brothers!"
Silent Child, Heart of Gold: "The Smash Brothers are enjoying the peace and quiet. Something bothers them though - why is Mega Man completely mute? It goes deeper than they think..."
Trophy Trouble: "The Assist Trophies decide to hold a rebellion that goes way out of control!"
After a few episodes like these, the story really begins to shape up, following loosely off of WoL.
Man when Ness sacrificed himself to save Lucas that shit got me. And when K Rool and Bowser fought on the Halberd that shit was fire.

Not bad. I'm learning more about the voice cast and I didn't know Masahiro Sakurai himself voiced King Dedede. Xander Mobus will soon not only be the voice of the SSB Ultimate announcer, but will voice Joker from Persona 5 now that he's announced as a DLC character.
I now really wish they made a Smash Bros anime I would like binge watch it for hours upon hours
