About the Sky controversy: When blocksworld released that update, they removed the old sky, in which you could customize the color of the sky (eg black for night, orange for sunset). This understandably made many players mad as they were used to the old sky and didn’t want to use the new one. There was a glitched block that had the old sky texture in it however.
Edit: About Noella as well: After she faked her suicide, she took a long break from BW (over a year iirc). She was only heavily disliked during that time, where people were speculating whether her death was faked or not. Eventually everyone forgot about it and Noella came back to BW, but her return was welcomed with open arms as she was more mature and actually admitted to faking the suicide and apologized for all the drama’ she caused.

edit: my only memories of blocksworld consist of me throwing random models into a world and watching chaos unfold as i pressed random buttons (in some cases crashing my ipad)
As a kid i never realised i was coding all this time until grade 6 when we learnt Scratch block coding. I'm so glad i could live those moments. And omg imagine if Hasbro sold Blocksworld sets in real life as toys? I would have loved that!

Can't believe it's now been 3 years since this game was put to rest.
Not only I enjoyed it because of the games and sets (especially Dinosaurs of Nakolia), but it was also the reasons why I wanted to code games in the first place. Here's hoping that there will one day be a remastered version of BW, which I doubt would happen.
(Sure there is a Secondary Server that I downloaded years ago, but I don't seem to have access to it anymore)

The sky controversy is about Linden swapping the old, cartoony, perfect sky with a bunch of photorealistic skies that don't match the game at all.
Imagine logging in one day and your blocksters are fleshy, realistic, human like in an extremely uncanny way

Possibly hundreds of worlds containing inapporpiate games, both by the people who made them, and the people "Against them." It was crazy dude.

I remember someone I found who had lots of hate, and I remember making a world defending them and I named myself after that person. All i remember about them is that their name was a random mix of letters (and numbers I think)
Honestly, Blocksworld was a great memory for me. I actually still have pictures on my tablet . And blocksworld was also the reason I like building/brick physics games.
I remember playing Blocksworld. I joined in 2013, practically when it had came out. I went by a few names, those being Bulen7, Admiral Genroff, and some other ones. I was in the BWMC mostly. I made lots of friends there, I'm still in contact with some of them. It was so fun in those days, but blocksworld got ruined by community moderation and by people growing up. Blocksworld died in 2018 for me.
I also want to add on that I had all the hasbro items! They were great. I miss Blocksworld a lot.
I greatly enjoyed this game when I first picked it up in late 2014, certainly do miss it.
I went by Lusitania17 in the later years of playing the game, and I built quite a few ocean liners, a handful of cruise ships, and some BB cars that looked pretty nice. In April of 2019 I started up on one of my major game projects, a naval combat game creatively titled "Warships". Although it never did get far due to a combination of different factors, such as lag, the servers beginning to act up, and the hilariously buggy nature of Warships, I did later continue working on it with a sequel on the secondary server in late 2020 after the original servers had their plug unfortunately pulled.
You can still find the worlds to those sequels on the secondary server, under the name Warships 2, but I no longer actively work on the game.
I remember Pokegirl86 i used to be friends with her during 2015-2020 (we didnt talk as much in 2019 or 2020) sadly lost contact with her though, i dont know what happened to her..
I remembered the time where big blocksters persona became so popular that i kept looking at their own story

Great video! Took me waaaaay back hearing everything here & recognizing almost all of it. It was just a ton of fun to screw around & see what people were making, while also making games to either hop on whatever trend there was at the time (like fnaf or those art competitions) or just designing fun little games. Seeing nopenop's avatar after almost half a decade just hit me with a wave of nostalgia.
I remember watching the very shutdown of Blocksworld real time, too. I don't know how it just so happened that I was revisiting the app that very same night, but I recall looking at some worlds with people declaring their departure from the app, as well as plugging their social medias, only to see the app suddenly give me errors in trying to load worlds. Next few days, I checked it again just to see nothing on the main page :,[

I joined Blocksworld in 2013, because of the heavy advertising it had on other games. I had played BW a while ago, because I still had the game on my iPad, and I just found out yesterday that the servers died.
I remember quite a lot about Blocksworld. The JB5 scandal, The Winter Game Contest from 2013/4 which I got an "Epic" for, and the blatant Unplanned advertisement and abortion controversy.
Loved this game, played since 2015 when that dinosaur update came out. I remember the old theme, 2013-2016 faces, old UI and layout, all of that, in fact I even bought the 1-time unlimited blocks deal and still have unlimited blocks to this day. I played the game practically daily from 2015-2018 when I started to disband due to updates for the game ending. I do remember all the glitches mentioned in the video and when all the beta stuff was leaked around 2019. Sadly most of my old worlds are not playable anymore and are forever lost, but a select few ARE still playable, including my FIRST WORLDS from 2015! But anyways, this was a nice look into the past, and I’ll definitely miss this game for all years to come. (Side note: The secondary server for Steam isn’t working for me, so I might have to fiddle around with that cause I really wanna play this game online again.)

Man, I remember this game, I remember the enjoyment at the beginning, but the end updates really were the worst, especially the publish cooldown and different skies, but you could build way more than you can in minecraft since there were other shapes than square blocks.

Hello. I am a veteran of Blocksworld. I played it since 2014 to the very day it was put to rest, even staying around and congregating during error 505. In the final days I was also known as "Rowlet Kid"
Referring to the Sugar Sisters controversy, it was more messed up the more I thought about it. The sister who didn’t fake the suicide claimed that it was due to the harassment Noella was receiving, when this "harassment" was just the people that Noella was an asshole to defending themselves. After this was revealed these people were targeted to further harassment.
There’s a good chance this thing entirely took place as a way for the Sugar Sisters (if there even were two of them) to further subject bullying to the ones they targeted. It was pretty nasty.

I love this game and I remembered it fondly. Also there is a glitch in the game that allowed people to get any item that is being sold in creator mode
When I first downloaded it back in 2017, for the longest time, Blocksworld was a big part of my life. I first started when they started changing the skybox texture and when they introduced the teleporting blocks. I was around for a long time, even during the crumbling of the community. My first exposure to the game was a year earlier from that, when I was in a school for autistic kids. I saw this kid playing some Blocksworld levels.
I still heavily remember making lots of train-related worlds with the game, and I rarely got into any drama. I just enjoyed my time on the game and loved seeing what other players had in store. It really sucks that the game had a really toxic community, when you consider all the wars, drama, hacks, and such, because Blocksworld was originally a passion project. I would’ve hated to see Leslie’s reaction to the servers getting shut down. While I still do realize that we have the secondary servers, they just aren’t the same. I would’ve loved to play the game when it was in its prime.

This game litterally peaked my intelligence, quick learning and creativity when I was young (when I was 6yo), I have it in my old ipad, never deleted it but it needs fixing
I still have Blocksworld to this day and i still use it just to make worlds with the limited blocks I have that test Blocksworld physics engine to the max
I remember the main reason why I played Blocksworld was to see all the transformers people would make- some of the engineering people put into some of their builds was amazing, istg

Lol, I recall noticing the REAL Nopenop’s account had been active, a long time after the impostor had been well-established. I made a world about it and Nopenop’s first world back from his break was addressed to me. This was such an insane community but I loved it.

ramble ahead of blocksworld memories:
i started playing in 2015, when i was 8 (or maybe 9, i dunno. i think i started playing before my ninth birthday) because i thought it was roblox.
the old blocksworld interface before the new 2016/17 update that gave the game a new theme and enhanced graphics. it was dark blue, the blocksters were soulless, and the my little pony pack was still a thing. i also remember the animated blocksters absolutely blowing up and when i finally got one from the spinny wheel thing, i felt so cool B) would've been cooler if i wasn't an unnamed blockster though.
i remember the whole noela situation. i was 10 at the time, and believed her (she basically apparently was at her funeral and it was only found out that she was still alive when she was scratching at the coffin and screaming). yeah. as someone who's actually experienced attempting, it was pretty screwed up that she faked it. she made the popular sewing kit and chibi high school series, and was a duo called noela and noelia/misty and crystal, and went by sugar sisters. (i remember she had an earlier name that went sunset neko something, but it was 8 years ago and i don't remember). i remember her having these ask noela/noelia things where we would mention their acc name, and i remember being an unnamed blockster calling myself 'PolarDakota❄" and asking 'which one of you are crazier lol". if i remember correctly, she also lied about someone stabbing her eye with a pencil.
there was also the pro blocksworld pack, which, iirc, gave you unlimited blocks of every kind (because before the big 2016/17 (idk, it was the year of the olympics) update, you only had a limited selection and number of blocks).

there was also the sexual content controversy that was mainly spurred on by a user named "DTMGold" (or something similar), and it resulted in the subsequent increased censoring of all inappropriate content. iirc, previously, swear words and block nudity was allowed for some reason lmao. so yeah, awareness for these kinds of posts was heightened and moderation eventually got better.
i stopped playing when i entered high school, so i don't know how badly the moderation spiraled downwards from there, but it doesn't look good.
either way, it's sad to see this game go from the app store and see linden abandon it entirely. even though it had its flaws, it holds a lot of nostalgia for me.

I actually came up with an idea for blocksworld, like a 2.0, where there's more you can do, like make your own blocks (similar to union and negate from roblox studio) and make your own textures, faces, and stuff that you can post onto the public that you can sell for the coins and stuff similar to the og, and setting your own background music and stuff, basically a more customizable version,
On my time on blocksworld, I had my own persona, I lied about my entire life basically, I said I was friends with popular creators when I wasn't, I would make them "BW crushes" or "New possible big blockster for ______" games, I made a surprisingly popular game back in 2014 called Thomas vs Enderman, I think it got legendary or something. I would also always change my "big blockster" persona, the one I remember most is 'me' with rainbow hair and a pikachu hoodie, or my emo phase where I grew wings somehow, was honestly insane, I even have old screenshots of my old worlds because of the cringy descriptions or gameplay.
Some of the creators I remember in particular was Nopenop, Kawaiicookie, Butterking, and Loyd1736, (and there was many more, however I cannot remember any of their names lol) and I would make worlds with thier avatars with mine, as if they were friends. I was kind of popular, as I was known for making Pokemon models, and they actually profitted. I even remember some I think a troll named Super Hacker 100, in which lots of people would come after them for no reason, other than them being just a little kid, or atleast what they thought was a little kid, I even joined in with making fun of this kid lmfao.
Also, if you ever remake this, you should definitely add something about the huge amount of Thomas worlds.
I played the game back when it was still owned by Linden, and for some odd reason, it garnered a huge community of Thomas the Tank Engine fans and a lot of the fans made really crappy models. Some of the more serious members started to hate TTTE and made worlds making fun of TTTE and caused many wars.
I was a victim of the "can't upload anymore" glitch and it was depressing 😢😢
Fun fact: the unreleased songs may return in the revival of Blocksworld, I heard them in one of the Blocksworld shorts
I played this game when I was very young. I was named “TheForce19” and I believed I was popular because I think I saw myself in someone else’s world where he was angry at everyone for making fun of him for liking Thomas the train. I was a neon blue haired girl. Many years later I got older and got bored of the game so I got rid of it. Today I remembered the game and I still thought I was popular so I searched the game and searched things to find out what was actually going on back then, I found have just found out the game was deleted. Now I can never play my old games.

The lost media thing actually might be able to be obsolete! BW2 is in beta on IOS, and they are working on data transfer. As of right now downloading it on IOS will wipe your BW1 save. So who knows?

I remember playing BlocksWorld, I used skyeari’s glitch, attracted 808-Nom-Nom’s attention by pretending to be his sister, and being my username “Alex the musical”, I had BlocksWorld premium, And I had prob got the attention of 303 and he followed me, I got the attention of Smo 34 and she followed me (inappropriate profile), I made a message to unfollow her (world), VelociraptorBW got my attention and followed me, I posted a model that had a lot of explosions, and telling him to unfollow me. I am lucky I didn’t get the 505 error, I got a thanos model to stop 505, but it didn’t go in my inventory, sadly. I am gonna still be in BW1, I am afraid to go to BW2. The last name that was from my profile is “The geme canter suck!1!1!1” (something like that) Thank you.

my god, thank you so much for making this video I completely forgot about this game until today. Its was probably the most fun i had especially since i managed to make my first ever friend group and also come across the content of amazing people (Favorites being Pokegirl86, McMiners, and KawaiiCookie) I really wish for the day they decide to bring this game back but until then its lovely to just reminisce of the past :)
Oh about the bw movie, currently i’ve found out that the project isn’t dead (i think) however its no longer a movie but instead a series which is still called Saving BW (also apparently someone else is now the director)

lol I was one of cliff rick’s allies. He and I still talk. we sometimes talk about how we partly feel responsible for ruining childhoods simply because we exposed a bunch of kids (including me, a child at the time) to a hateful and toxic environment, desensitizing an armory of slurs and basically using lots of verbal abuse. Some of us have moved on since then and fully realized our behavior but nonetheless the BWMC is one helluva community 🤭🤭

I remember first getting into this game near the beginning of 2016. Good times, I remember making a friend on there that I still talk to to this day. It was fun despite how chaotic the environment was.

The 2013 blocksters actually had solid color pupils and no highlights in the eyes. Regardless, this game is the reason I can think like a developer yet I know next to nothing about coding languages. Honestly, good riddance to my old worlds, they were cringe as hell.

I’ve been searching for it for a while, never remembering the title, until I hopped on my old iPod and found it under my downloads. it’s a shame we can’t play it anymore, and I sadly can’t access my worlds, I know I had plenty of them. I used to be known as Noellethorn (if i can remember), and i used to often build Ships, warships, Ocean liners, Cruise Ships, and many more, though i've did led my self into some controversies, but since i was beginning to move away from the Shipping / Vessel Community, i felt like building ships wasn't my thing any more, and this was at the time of Blocksworld nearest final days, and.. i feel very different after the shut down.
Now i'm moving on to being a Sci-fi Type Person, but even still, i miss blocksworld.
I was a regular noob there but progressed in building more and more, I ended up making an ocean-themed game with my membership and also a car crash scene, now all of my projects are lost media, also "808NOMNOM" was my fav blockster, but sadly his projects are lost media as a few videos were recorded about him, I miss him because he used to make a series about survival. :(

I was there for blocksworld’s start and their end.
I came back in 2021 because I left in 2019 and found out it was shut down.
I grew up playing with BlocksWorld and a ton of mobile games and came back to find them all gone
