So... you know the point of the blood games is to test the security of the defences and pretending to assassinate the Emperor? The video overblows it a bit but there's no way she would've actually destroyed Terra, it was just a different path to reaching the end goal of the blood games. Same end result, just different methods.
The point of the Blood Games is for the Custodian assigned to accomplish it to try to assassinate the Emperor by any means possible while the rest stop them, so that the Custodes can root out any vulnerabilities and better defend the Emperor and his Imperium. Seeing as killing Big E would roundly destroy Terra no matter how it's done, any truly successful Blood Games run would destroy the Imperium. Thankfully that's never happened, either because the plan failed (like it did here) or because the Custodian in question didn't take the shot that theoretically may have killed the Emperor.

Maybe that was the point of making a female custodian to begin with. After 10,000 years of attempts I believe the Custodes are getting out of ideas on how to challenge their own defenses, so they are now desperatelly trying to get different perspectives. If that was the plan It definitelly worked out, nobody had ever tried this one before.

This kind of thing is actually very common for custodes blood games. They will literally kill thousands of humans like its nothing, just for a 0.00001% increase in their ability to protect the emperor.
The Blood Games are the training and planning of the Custodes to defend Terra.
And believe me, they've done worse...

I kinda hope the Custodes are sensible enough that the Exterminatus grade weapons they use in Blood Games are very convincing props or aren't armed and capable of actually going off. The point is to tag the Emperor and say "Killed" not actually kill him.
Like the cyclonic torpedo doesn't explode the planet, but broadcasts "Cyclonic torpedo detonated in the palace. Invaders win."
I mean.... They fully release traitors, daemons, ect for these blood games so while it's hopefully not an actual exterminatus bomb it is still probably a live bomb lmao

Her plan was ruined by one of the ships crew who thought she was going to destroy Terra, and called the Goldie boys. Then she bitched about it and wanted to turn him into a servator. Meanwhile, in any other event, the Custodes would probably give him a thanks and retirement for his dedication to stand up against what he thought was a plot to kill the emperor and his dream.
To be entirely fair there are plenty of Custodes who would have been EXTREMELY pissed that a random mortal undid their whole complicated plan. Hell Colquan probably would’ve tried to run him through or done similar to her considering his temperament and contempt for baseline humanity. All custodians are their own unique individual, and considering the audacity of her plan I think such anger fits what little I know of her. Might even be a relatively new edition to the Custodes and be ashamed that a mortal foiled her first blood games attempt.
Give her a few centuries and she’ll get over it. Her youth in the custodes is apparently showing.
That's not even true lol, the officer who ratted her out got a promotion, the shipmaster who didn't question her got servitorized and the rest of the crew was as far as i know either disbanded or punished in some unspecified way.
I understand being annoyed with the retcon but that's no excuse for straight up spreading misinformation...

Yeah, I'm good. I'm fine with sisters of silence. Sisters of battle are badass. Culexus assassins are rad. But a female custodes isnt really it. If one were possible, then it wouldn't be out of left field for a female space marine. They've opened the box and questions wont stop coming for why they dont exist.

Custodes : Human that is modified geneticly to Perfection. Like there is not really a restriction to who can became one.
(Why The first Custodes has no female mainly because they are Noble son (because they are usually heir of the family) from Terra Warlord and that is loyal and adversary to the emporer. Like offering a symbol of loyalty to emperor. )
Space Marine : Human Augmented Super Soldier with gene seed according to the primarch.
(Cant make Female space marine unless there is female primarch with female gene seed, maybe the missing 2 or Fabius Bile shit).
It’s less of a leap with custodes since they’re hand crafted and not based on geneseed

Take as much male candidates you can and just stuff them with new one size fits all organs. If it doesnt work move on to the next candidate. Even their armor is mass produced compared to custodes.
For custodes they really take their time. They design everything to perfection no rush.

-selection: astartes pass a screening test, custodes are all handpicked in the crib (and no, they are not all from noble families, but likely relatives are made noble to ensure future base materials were breed)
-purpose: astartes are weapon meant to be throw away at the end (they are in universe considered human Just on paper) with Only the 1st and 2nd founding being given rigth of retirment, custodes would have guided humanity and elevated It (aka breed to improve humanity)

Interesting that the artisan custodes creation process works on women unlike Astartes "mass production" .
Custodes is gene crafting and precise manipulation, astartes is literally placing new organs into the body, also its a million times more invasive and dangerous than the custodian process due to also the trials, tell me as a matter of fact a woman can pull off either A spacewolf's trials or the black templars.. If she were a psyker I can accept it in a way through but im nearly sure none of those chapters accept em due to issues

By them adding this woman into the custodies like this destroys the whole premise of the sisters of silence as well as the sisters of battle. These women earn their place in the history of 40K, a perfect example, the sisters of battle have been told they cannot be corrupted while the space Marines have. When a sister of battle speaks in a room for a space Marines and primarks, everyone goes silent because she speaks with a purpose that can change the tide of worlds. The sisters of silence work so diligently to get the respect and seen as an equal by the custodies to a point that they said it themselves to them. And now you took that all away just to have a woman on there though. What was the point? Give me a primark then that's a woman. Also, you're already destroying the Lord.

I understand people are angry, but the Custodians are really the only faction where the change is valid and doesn't majorly break the lore. The Custodian creation process is vastly different to that of the Astartes, and because it's so different and doesn't use geneseed, I'm more surprised that people haven't questioned the possibility sooner. It's always been possible. Doesn't make the implementation any less stupid, but the fact of the matter is that it's not going to change anything.

No. Unlike the Custodians, there is no room for females. They've tried before. The Emperor gave it a shot and gave up immediately. The only one who's been successful is Bile, and that's because it's fucking Bile. The Geneseed is incompatible with female anatomy. That's just how it is. There is absolutely nothing stating that the Custodian process doesn't work on females.

I like the concept but games workshop were so lazy about it like they were afraid of making the people that would have pissed their pants over it anyway mad so they didn’t put any real effort into it. Hopefully we’ll get better expanded lore and books in the future, but for now the lore is shoddy.

Im fairly confident in ten thousand years this isnt the first attempt. The blood games litterally put the best minds of the custodes in charge of exploiting *any* blind spot they can find. If during their prep they notice that orbital monitoring has laxed to such a degree cyclonic torpedos can enter orbit then theyll definitely exploit that as its a weakness needing fixed.

As someone on the outside of the 40k fandom, can someone explain the hate to me? I know the Custodes are men, but I don't know why. Is there a reason the geneseed or whatever shouldn't work for women?
Because in the last 30 years there has never been a single mention of a female space marine and boom. Magically existed the whole time. It’s a cash grab with complete disregard to the lore of Warhammer. Its just disrespectful to the fans and they are blocking people who are asking questions on twitter. That alone shows you how weak this decision was.

Their previous 30 years of lore doesn't exist and what does exist explains that Custodians back during the day were literally just weaker Space Marines. The Custodian creation process is completely different to the Space Marine creation process.
The first female custodes THAT WE KNOW OF. Apparently, GW has confirmed that female custodes have always been a thing inside the lore.
Gw will say and write anything as long as it helps selling more toys from their range.

There won't be. Unlike the Astartes, the Custodians actually have enough blank space that female Custodians are possible. The reason Female Astartes aren't possible is because Geneseed explodes them. Custodes don't use Geneseed and are altered from infancy. Also, it took ten years of the writers asking to make female Custodes for it to finally happen. They apparently wanted female Custodians to be a thing since day one.
