    I'm glad headbangers ball is on UA-cam, since I didn't grow up in this era.

      It's pretty cool watching shows like the Ball, those of you who like traditional 80's Metal can kinda see what it was like in the heyday.

      Yeah! I mean, even when it came to the subject of the group Stryper, Blackie Lawless (Who was raised in The Baptist Church, from what I understand, and that later actually received Jesus Christ as his own personal Savior and Lord!), was actually very cautious and careful what he said about Stryper. He taught us a little lesson in respect there, folks! Who'd of thought that Blackie would show that much respect for Stryper that way?!?
      It truly is a small World, after all!

    It's pretty cool watching shows like the Ball, those of you who like traditional 80's Metal can kinda see what it was like in the heyday, sort of like a window into the past. W.A.S.P was one of my favorite bands back then, their style of Metal was/is right up my alley. W.A.S.P had a little bit of all the good elements from different styles of Metal, not a thrash or glam band. How ever people wanna label them, I would just say they're a Heavy Metal band.

      They didn't though, three of their albums were quite popular in Europe and they were a major hit in Norway and Sweden.
      3 albums charted in the top 10, one of them went #1 on the billboard charts.
      For whatever reason, they didn't find that level of success in America, two of their albums barely cracked the top 100 on the billboard charts. They were quite famous in Europe, particularly Scandinavian countries, germany etc...They sold 5 million records worldwide.

    • @gameboycat05
      @gameboycat05 2 роки тому

      No, they flopped because the record label wanted them to write tasteless, Poison-like sex tunes instead of advanced and meaningful lyrics with complex and technical musicianship. The band refused to do so, so the label didn't do shit to promote them.

    Must have been a such boring thing for the general of the army W.A.S.P. Blackie Lawless to present wild side from Mötley Crüe, realizing both bands had not too much friendly relationship at hard rock scene.
    Mainly at this age which this program was air. They were real rivals lol

    Metal became so much better than this crap the industry was selling in the 80's, thankfully the glam hairband sellouts burnt out... The WASP's Motley Crues, Guns and Posers of the world need to just go the fuck away and leave metal to the real fans, not this corporate rock bullshit.

    • @DeusMachina71

      I actually saw them in 1984-84 at Lamour in Brooklyn.. No the early stuff was not.. nor was Motley Crues first album bad either but.. they sold the fuck out and now Blackie found Jebbus.. so erase their names from the book of death and ignore them..ha.

    • @AngelofAnguish
      @AngelofAnguish 9 років тому +2

      +macinegott In your opinion, how do YOU define "metal?" In my opinion, THAT'S the problem with the so-called "modern rock/metal" bands: it's ALL ABOUT (THE) MONEY AND CHART POSITION-and NOTHING ELSE. In my opinion, when I got into rock/metal music in 1978, it was all about, NOT JUST THE MUSIC, but about the ESCAPE, the FUN, and HAVING A GREAT TIME (that included "dressing up as rock/metal fan to show one's support"). Sorry, in my opinion, what the business is promoting, what music stores are selling, and what rock radio stations are playing, right now, ISN'T metal!

    • @DeusMachina71
      @DeusMachina71 9 років тому

      +AngelofAnguish To be perfectly honest I stopped listening to American Anything, Metal included twenty years ago for a better and evolving German Industrial scene. On another note I can't stand what happened to metal with its glamification, nothing even against glam but the bad drag act Glam metal underwent sucked balls, I actually really like the NY Dolls but Metal is not supposed to be that and it almost completely destroyed American Metal turning it into a corporate rock fucking joke, had it not been for some classics like Slayer and Judas Priest carrying the torch for traditional Metal who the fuck would care about this shit... and I could care less about chart positioning particularly in the US market which is nothing but a bland musical ghetto.. almost always has been and always will be .
