  • DISCLAIMER!
To transcribe the French language into IPA symbols we have to make some choices and we should keep in mind that the process of vocal emission is going to interfere with our pronunciation.
I have chosen [œ] to transcribe the “e” of “je”, but depending on the position of the letter and the musical line I have sometimes noted it as [ə]
You might also find that I can pronounce the [œ] differently within the same world, this because I didn’t want to use [ø] or [ə] for most of the schwas, penalising the poor original [œ] of the word “œuf”.
Also remember that IPA is either black or white and does not allow shapes of grey, another example here: the [ɛ] of “les” is closer then the Italian “è” but not close enough to be written as [e].
So… remember to work with a language/vocal coach IRL, he/she will hear what actually comes out from your mouth ;)

. Hello. I just discovered your channel and it is very useful to me. Next month I have to sing "Parle moi de ma mere" and the final Duo "Ces, t toi, cest moi". Could you do me the immense favor of transcribing them for me. Thank you.
