I always love when you break out a HSS guitar. Sounded really good here!
I've been sent through a JS400 and initially I thought the ceramic pickups weren't up to much clout, but I tried it at volume at a rehearsal and they were actually pretty impressive. As you say, could do with a decent set up (and deffo some new strings) but a very solid basis for sure. It's definitely better than the kind of thing that you'd get for that money when I started playing

Looks just like an Ibanez AZ I used to own.
I decked and blocked the trem on my JS400, then _properly_ installed a new set of D'Addario strings. Since then it stays in tune well even with the cheaper non locking tuners.
The store it came from had done a decent setup imo and required no changes even after all that. Lastly I set the pickup heights to Fender specs.
Imo it's a fantastic purchase even at the low end. Those who use the trem may have a different experience.

It would be very interesting to compare the Sire S7 with the Jet JS 600 or 1000 (Mahogany body) since they are in the same price range.

I recently got a Harley Benton Fusion III HSS Burst. It's a fantastic guitar for the money £350. The neck is amazing to play, 24 stainless steel frets, Wilkinson Trem which has rock solid tuning even with heavy abuse. Roasted maple neck, Graph Tech nut and locking tuners which are also great. The only thing I didn't like was the pickups so I upgraded them to an Andy Timmons set of Dimarzios and upgraded all the POTs and Input Jack. Now I have a guitar that looks amazing, sounds amazing and plays as good as any guitar Ive played under £2000. All for a total outlay of about £700.
I'm waiting for a Suhr/Anderson style relic modern strat relic hss, 22 frets. If they do something like that - I'm sold.

Hi, John, How do you achieve that tone? the one you use for playing the chords in the beginning, sounds like shimmer and or chorus and too much treble.
Hey John, have you seen the Schecter Van Nuys Traditional? Seems like it would be right up your alley, and a great price point to boot.
I remember when Schecter was a Parts company, Like mighty mite/Allparts. The 1st real user of them that I remember was PETE TOWNSEND, the Rough Boys Solo days. Telecaster style stuff.

Have you heard about Ibanez Talman ? I have one and it's a really really nice guitar for cheap. It surpasses sire larry carltons easely, for less price. It's not produced anymore so they are hard to find ! Nice vids man !

How about an Ibanez Stagestar. They don't make them anymore either. My Ibanez HSS sounds even better than a Fender Strat. Just cannot find a whammy bar that will fit--the 9mm one is too large. W Rusty Lane K9POW in eastern Tennessee
I did see this at my local guitar shop for £500 …but had that thought. £500 for geetar made in china the spec is good just couldn’t bring myself to part with the cash
I think the place of manufacture is getting near irrelevant. QC can be good or bad everywhere
I agree as well as the fact it’s all cnc machines these days . It’s just knowing for about the same price I could get a Schecter or something like that not made in china. I guess it’s a bias I have built up over the years. But then I have spent 2k on a Indonesian Strandberg a lot does come down to how much I know about the product as well
I have 3 MIM Fender Strats and just bought a Squier contemporary Strat made in China. The Squier’s fit and finish is WAY better than the 3 Mexican strats. That changed my mind about make location.
@@TheWowcol prices of manufacturing have gone up globally, japan and korea are at this point not much cheaper than the US. i have 3 MIJ Jacksons 1 mexican strat, 2 korean schecters and a korean cort, and lastly a jackson and a squier from indonesia. the squier beats the crap out of my mim fender, and between the rest of them there's really not much in it. the indonesian jackson has some issues with the fretboard binding, but apart from that it's a killer guitar.
I agree...The appeal of these guitars is the value for money ratio and the higher end models lose that.Instead of that i would get a JS400( i have already bought the JS300 and i absolutely love it) and mod it with actually cool parts instead of paying extra money for a cool top.For me the appeal of the Jets are the excellent roasted maple necks...since i get that from virtually any of their models the extras are not really helping....
