@@vampukoi6374hey, I have the nitro R7 4070 version for a few months now. The laptop is really good in terms of specs, cooling and battery health is really good, I’d be on 70-80% after a 2-3 hour lecture at uni. Acer has always been great with their cooling system and the the r7/4070 does not disappoint. It also has a great screen res of 1600p (between 1440 and 4K) and 500 nits brightness (I think), which is really important for me when I edit on the go. The only downside I have for myself, which I can’t complain since I paid £1.3k for is the 16gb ram as I edit a lot and feel my laptop sometimes bottlenecks when I game on 4K. Even though it is pretty standard for the price tbh. Also, I do miss the extra slot of sata compared to the nitro 5 i5/ 3050ti laptop that I had previously, which they have 2 m2 and 1 sata slot. You can expect a roughly 30% better gaming performance from the 3070ti over the 4050. The only difference is the 7840HS is much better processor than the 6800H so you'd be sacrificing cpu performance for gpu performance, which might make the laptop worse overall depending on the game.

great review, but maybe its generally worth mentioning the mere 8gb of video memory that mean you spend more than 2000 € on a brand new machine that already has a massive bottlenec, right coming out of the box. I know, there are no real alternatives at that price point - but it's just so frustrating and keeps me from buying a new laptop currently.
It would def be nice to have more VRAM. But, to be fair, 8gb on my legion 5i pro has been absolutely flawless so far. Hogwarts legacy, one of the culprits known for terrible vram allocation sits around 100+fps without stutters (other than shaders). High graphic settings/dlss at 1600p. Although vram *is* very important, I think it’s *possible* that the reality is not quite as harsh as youtube may have made it seem these past few months, at least for most consumers. Most of *us* aren’t used to consistently playing titles in 4K ultra settings anyways. 1440p/1600p has been *perfect* for me, in every game (so far). That’s native res for most of these notebooks. I can’t really ask for more, however, I paid quite a bit less for my legion than this nitro. All of this at high/ultra settings (and even RT in certain titles like cyberpunk w/ dlss).
I have to agree with @stefdezy1562 here. While I feel a lot of the recent AAA releases had been troubled with poor optimization at launch (that may have been amplified by poor VRAM usage and, therefore, indirectly placed 8GB card in a bad situation), most games we are testing run pretty well without any significant problems. I am currently trying to find a solution to implement 1% lows in our graphs so we can shine a light on those measurements too, in addition to our average framerates. This may paint a better picture about this situation in the future.
Hi! We currently have this laptop at 1500 euros in France (1635 $) , what do you think of this price ? For me it looks fine , I just have some doubt on the cpu part. For the ram, i'll add 16 go for dual channel if I take it Thanks a lot for the review 😊
The TUF will be a bit more portable since it's lighter and thinner. It also looks cleaner in my opinion. But the Nitro will likely net you better performance. So you will have to pick your poison.

For the ram, i'll add 16 go for dual channel if I take it
Thanks a lot for the review 😊
Hey Did you buy it?
Gaming laptops are keeping laptop repair shops in business😂
Am thinking of getting the same laptop with 7840hs and 4060. Should i go ahead with the purchase? Would the asus tuf 15 be better with same specs?
The TUF will be a bit more portable since it's lighter and thinner. It also looks cleaner in my opinion. But the Nitro will likely net you better performance. So you will have to pick your poison.
@@NotebookcheckReviews okay, all I want are better thermals and if the Nitro can get me those then I'll go ahead with it. Thank you so much for the response.
Honestly, the only highlight for me is that the keyboard does have a num pad. Used to love that on my 2014 Asus Strix laptop. The rest is a shame, between the EU pricing, skimping on Zen 4 over here and the overall bulkiness of it.
Yeah, the pricing for this config is pretty wild. If they had positioned it a bit more competitively, it would have been an excellent option for Users looking for extended runtimes and a quiet gaming experience!
Another great video 🎉
Thank you!
I just ordered the core i7-13700H version of this laptop with the RTX 4050 6GB GDDR5, 16GB Ram and 512GB SSD. Hopefully it’s good
Hey, did you get it? How is it? Am going to book the 4060 version today.
@@bluupbrr286 I have it but I haven’t opened it yet. Tbh I’m not too excited as I am a former console player. I’ve build my own pc years ago last PC I built was a AMD FX 8300 with GTX 960 then I sold it. Went back to PS4 gaming. I’m contemplating on returning it and just get myself a PS5 just the fact that I want to play exclusive games like god of war. And to answer the rest of your questions lol there’s an Asian dude on here who reviewed something about it looks good on paper but it under performs. You have the 4060 so it’s like 5-8x better than the 4050 I’m not sure which processor you have tho.
Hi, may you say something about Acer Nitro 17(Intel CPU, rtx 4060), please?
There you go, we reviewed it already on the website:

Excellent video I need an opinion on a laptop, the 4070 gpu is better than the 4060, the 4070 being $250 more expensive
Have you seen our Legion Pro 5 video yet? We compare the 4060 with the 4070 in that one:
ua-cam.com/video/CYX0jn63pqo/v-deo.html
@@NotebookcheckReviews Yes, I just saw it, in your analysis of the Lenovo with 4060/4070 gpus I saw that there is not much difference between the two gpus, the difference is between the price of $250 more for the 4070 compared to the 4060, due to this difference I cannot tell If I am correct in what I am going to say, I would opt for a 4060, I am upgrading my old laptop for a new one, to have a flight simulator game, and I think that it is better to buy a laptop with 4060, technology changes every day by giant steps Three years from now I should update since the laptops 4060/4070 etc will be old,I wanted to know if the amd 6800S gpu is better than the rtx 4060, between these two gpus,At bestbuy the legion slim amd gpu 6800s is at $1200 the hp omen 16 4060 is at 1200 both qhd
nice video my love
Thank you
Very strange music choice... I thought there was a woman screaming in background and had to take my headphones off to check :?
Amazing review as always.👍👍👍👍 Contemplating whether to get one for myself
Thank you! Which config are you leaning towards?

Yooo new video 💙👀👀
For sure!
берите не пожалеете, не вернусь больше к asus, amd проц просто сверх сильный в играх, только режим optimus отключите только GPU
This looks great for a mid range machine
Yes, if you are aware of its quirks.
👍
💪🏻
So loud. 😮
In performance mode sure. But since it hardly brings any performance benefits, you could leave it in balanced, and then its really, really quiet.
First like, then watch..
Thanks for both!
First?
Seems so ;)
Never liked Acer.. no exception here
Fair enough.
Made some bad experiences? Or just in general?
