One of my professors said that she caught a wrong procedure during a time-out. The surgeon insisted that the surgery was correct and refused to listen. My professor refused to participate until she could check the patient's chart again... and the surgeon told her to not come back. Guess who wasn't named in the lawsuit for the incorrect procedure? Know your rights, advocate for your patient, and do an initial time-out while they're awake in holding. :)
