He could confidently say that because of how great of an influence Maarva was on him. He's lucky to have gone through life knowing what he was doing was the right thing because of her.
It's the Gold standard of ALL TV shows - the monologues from the show are so quotable, delivered by truly amazing actors. Of course, having legendary actors in Star Wars goes back to 1977 - but the dialogue in Andor is superb, as if Shakespeare got picked up by a time machine and was dumped in our own time and called "Tony Gilroy" just to blend in!
@@jazzx251love you so much for this comment!! Finally someone who sees that Andor is beyond Star Wars the greates thing ever... The dialogues, the monologues, the acting, the story, the cinematography, the score, the effects, the lore, the details... All of it combined it's peak... Adding that Andor is the best anti-fascist art ever brought to a screen, it's definetely the culmination of cinema and TV...
It still surprises me that a show as good as Andor came out from Disney in an age of things like boba, obi wan and Mando season 3. Seems like Gilroy had a lot of leverage with Disney after coming in and saving Rogue One for them
I loved Cassian in Rogue One, he was a side of the Rebellion we'd never seen. Andor made me love him that bit more because he was a side of Star Wars we've never seen. This video only makes me love the character and the writing of those two projects even more, because I hadn't quite noticed all the connective tissue between them. Man I freaking love this video
Loved Cassian from the first time I saw Rogue One. Diego Luna is just wonderful and captures him perfectly. Cannot wait to watch Andor Season 2 as Cassian's journey takes him to Scarif...
It is so beautiful! And heartbreaking. I love all the parallels: the bartender’s “You’ll pay at the end” and Cassian’s ultimate sacrifice; Cassian’s last words to his sister and to Bix… A masterpiece.
@SWFT_edits keep it up bro, these edits help me connect again with already released SW content and it just hits the same notes as if I were watching it for the first time again. If you're ever looking a sign in the future for wanting to continue or quit doing this, come back and see how much people love your work! It's very good!
@@adamorand88His Boba Fett video is superbly well made, it's one of my favorite videos on UA-cam. I go to it from time to time, as it elevates that show to another level!
I love this - it’s tragic and moving. It’s bizarre to me that Cassian Andor is often an underrated character in his own show. He has possibly the most powerful and profound character arc in the entire franchise, going from self-centred borderline-alcoholic ne’er-do-well to someone who is willing to sacrifice his life for strangers. It was particularly poignant to give him a backstory that shows that he has reason to hate the Empire but has been burned too many times to want to fight them any more . Until events force his hand and he finally realises what he can and must become. Tony Gilroy as storyteller and Diego Luna as actor have done a masterful job so far in portraying an “ everyman” who is also a strong and unique character in his own right. Rewatching Rogue One now is like losing a friend.
I hope at least one person who reads this joins the Patreon or donates. These edits are top tier and SWFT deserves so much more for them than demonitization.
Not many things at my this pessimistic age causes me to bring a tear to my eyes. Here's to your amazing editing art for which you bring hope, joy and humility to us through your creative work, thank you.
Some of the best parallels and connections I've ever seen in a Star Wars edit. Cassian Andor is such an interesting character and it's really cool to see Andor content with as much emotion and depth as this. Absolutely phenomenal work, my friend!
The end brought tears to my eyes. "She will be proud of you" And then he doing the ultimate sacrifice, and saving the rebellion from annihilation. Yes, Marva would be extremely proud.
I think your work is transcendent. You don’t get caught up in “canon”, you simply encapsulate the character or seen through snippets from all their incarnations. I was old when I saw Star Wars in ‘77, so I believe it when I say you have found the formula to put stories together in a meaningful way. Thank you.
Another absolute win. After the awesome Boba Fett video - which I have been recommending to everyone left and right - you have made another great video which highlights the strongest moments and dialogues of the Andor show in a very artistic manner, to the point that it elevates the show to another different level entirely. Well done! That intro with the bartender is SPECTACULARLY clever.
Dear swift. Yours edits giving me hope, that one day i will stand there when tyranny and autocracy in my country will fall. And i will be the one who will fight for good. Keep inspiring us, please, we need it
What a spectacular edit! Chills the whole time. Cassian Andor is a character who doesn’t get enough appreciation. Without him, the Rebellion wouldn’t be what it is.
Wonderful video! I know there isn't much material, but given how important she turned out to be in the background, I hope we see a video for Maarva. :)
I must say something, some may find it reprehensible, some not. But. Cassian Andor is more human-like and truthiest, ground-based version of Kyle Katarn, without those "suddenly you are no longer rebel soldier but a JEDI KNIGHT because Mary Sue stuff and jedi be cool and profitable". I know, I know, crucify me, old-schoolers. Great Edit, tho, mister SWFT you are the best.

showing the bartender say "you'll pay at the end" and then showing the end of Cassian's life is so genius but so sad
Agreed
Exactly.
We all do. Pay at the end….
"Your father would have been proud of you, Jin."
And Maarva would have been proud of *you,* Cassian.🥲

Cassias is truly a tragic character. He starts out as a poor forgettable unknown person and dies a hero on a galactic scale.
My favourite sw character his story is just soo good and Diego Luna is really great actor.

If you were "old" in 1977, I'll even concede that you would have only been 50 ...
That makes you over 95 today!
it's like poetry, it rimes
Give me goosebumps
You are a meastro at these.
She'd be proud of me😢
00:00 - 00:08 A very "oppenheimer" beginning
2:11 - 2:12 GREAT comparison!!!
Nice parallel on the "I'll find you". Totally missed that.

Beautiful and brilliant. Thank you
This was great! I really enjoy Cassian as a character
A great edit to explain Cassian Andor ❤
that opening shot you used with the dialogue is SUPERB
I'm not saying this as a star wars fan but this series is so underrated
Is anyone else STILL mindblown by how good "Andor" was?
yep i think about that show every single day since it came out and knowing that season 2 will come some day is keeping me happier...
I loved Cassian so much ever since Rogue One. Thank you for this wonderful video on him!
Legitimately made me tear up. I love it. Another excellent piece by SWFT.
Absolute legends, you and Cassian both

Another great video. Fantastic work! I've hoped for a Maarva video (I know, not a ton of on screen material), but this is pretty close!
Never even connected with me how many characters believed Cassian would die fighting the empire
That was BEAUTIFUL
Thank you!

Tell him I love him more than anything he could ever do wrong
