I was raised in the mountains of western North Carolina in the 1980s on a tobacco farm. Today I am mid 40s surfing the internet in a pandemic (like so many great folks out there) and learned of Rax. If I ever run across one when I can travel again, I will certainly stop and eat. Thank you for making this video.
Some half a century later my significant other and I still like to eat there after bowling at town & country lanes across the street….a long time with good memories😄
I just first learnt about Rax Restaurant from UA-cam. Didn't know there's still a few left. Love the idea. From the ads to the tacos, to the dinner buffet, to all kinds of foods, to Mr Delicious. If I was super rich, I'd buy the whole company, and "Make Rax Great Again"!! Of course I'd had to be so rich that I'm willing to take a loss on it. I'd certainly would try though.
I really miss the BBC. Arby's cheddar taste really bad. When Covid19 is gone I'm going to make the trip to Joliet to get one. Do they still taste the same?
To me, there's nothing wrong with old school. That roast beef looks good & you don't see many salad bars anymore which is surprising since there's so much emphasis on healthy eating. I used to make a meal off that. How does it compare to Arby's?
It's weird how it felt like I was stepping back in time. The food is just as good as I remember and unlike Arby's its neat to see them slice the beef fresh.
Wait this rax location still has a salad bar I thought most rax locations got rid of their salad bar That’s interesting You learn something new everyday I guess Anyways Dikity dee
Awww dude...not only did you find a rax but you found one with the endless bar still going strong. Thats like finding a 57 chevy mint condition.
I was shocked they still had the salad bar too.

Thank you for watching the video.
I live in Joliet, and every day I'm still surprised that damn Rax is still there after all this time.
Also, Love the Ghostbusters shirt.
Thanks! I was shocked as well, especially with the salad bar.
Nice video! We used to go to Rax in Decatur, Illinois when I was a kid. It’s been 3o+ years. 😊
Gotta love the endless salad bar! We’ve never been... maybe we’ll do a field trip. Also, adding the commercial was a nice touch.
I figured the commercial would show how it still looks the same.
I grew up in Muncie, Indiana, and we had THREE Rax restaurants, which was a lot for a fairly small town. Enjoying your channel!
Even for a college town, that is a lot of locations. Thanks for watching!

Needs more Mr Delicious.
Haha!! I just saw a video about him too.
Nice! It’s like a cross between Shoney’s and Arby’s! And, gotta love sexist 80’s commercials haha!
Love this place i live close to this one and I’m lucky! The interior is definitely old school but I love it
I use to LOVE their Chocolate Chip milkshakes!!
Worth going for that cheese sauce alone. Never figured out the recipe.
@ 1:32....that Countertop pattern. I once bought a house built in the late 60's with lot of that counter top design. Scary.

I agree 100%!! Rax needs to have a major comeback.
The Rax's in Ohio don't have the salad bar anymore. That's pretty cool that the Illinois one still has it.
Does it still have the 80s look like the Illinois one has?
@@AdventureswithMike Yeah but the one in Ironton Ohio where I went is much more run down. But it still has all the old furniture. It's a shame really.
I've never seen this place but would so go!
If you come across one, you should go. It's like stepping back in time, since they can't really update things.
Great find ,now I remember them we had one on colerain ave .
i miss rax buffet part of my childhood growing up in columbus ohio
I want to go to Rax now and I've never heard of the place until now

It was really good. I hadn't have them since the 80s and it was worth it.
I miss BBC too.

Funny. I live in Joliet and haven't been to Rax in 20 years.
I just learned about this at the library from one of the librarians.
You learned about the "BBC" at the library?
I'm surprised on the logo on the wrapping that's costs twice as much as unbranded!
I guess it’s similar to how a few “Blockbusters” are still operational.
I watched that nate guy on you tube vid but I like this one to👍
Thanks for checking it out! Nate does rock and he's one my favorites too.
There is aslo one in Lancaster Ohio
Is it still open
RAAAXXX

That’s interesting
You learn something new everyday I guess
Anyways
Dikity dee
Live 3o minutes from there. Still visit often as their beef is better than Arby's IMHO
there's a stray hair in your mustache sticking up that's driving me crazy
Haha. Sorry about that...
I haven’t ate there for 30 years
I was the same way. It hadn't changed either.
Can someone mail me some Rax?
