Why…Warn Epic Sidewinder Shackle…Why switch away from the hook?

I go into detail of what I think about this Warn Epic Sidewinder p.n. 100770 hook/shackle. Does it mount easily? How does it stay in position when tightened down to the bumper? Last why I switched away from the original hook.

The mount on the bumper is in fact a D Ring.
