All Your Love, a great Otis Rush rumba blues. Being from Chicago, I was lucky enough to use Otis Rushs' backline when he was not gigging. And, Otis Rush also kicked my ass on the pool table when he would break between sets when I would go see him play. Mercury Blues was one of many songs my guitar guru taught me when I was a younger. Nice set by Steve. Steve owned a big space in my music selection over the years. Les is the best. These cuts are great. Thanks for posting. Lou Pallo, OMG what a great part of the quartet.
Went to a Les Paul celebration in Cleveland on November 15, 2008 which included a virtual who's who of guitarists who all played their own songs with Les before the final segment which included all guest and Les. The funny part was the Ventures with their Mosrite guitars, James Burton with his pink paisley Telecaster, Billy Gibbons, Slash, Steve Lukather, Jennifer Warnes, Richie Sambora, and on and on were there to honor Les. He had a long segment of him playing with his jazz band. On August 13, 2009 Les passed away which made our evening in Cleveland that much more special.
The Steve Miller Blues Band, Filmore West in San Francisco, must have been '66 or '67. Great times with good friends! Super to see Miller and Les Paul, two greats, jam!
Look out!! The gangsters back. I'm gonna trade in my old horse for a brand new Cadillac. I'm gonna play some blues, 'cause I know you like that, Gonja get real loose and do the jump back Jack. When I walk into the bar girls from near and far say I'm the ganster. STEVIE GUITAR MILLER. One of the very best there ever was, ever is, ever will be!
Saw Steve Miller last July (Peter Frampton was the opener) 40 years after I last saw him live. He looked and sounded like he was still enjoying what he is doing. That older concert was a few years after I got to meet Les Paul. He had family in my home town.
STEVE IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE LUCKIEST DUDES AROUND, BEING FRIENDS W/LES BECAUSE OF WHERE HE'S FROM... TWO TRULY GREAT "MUSICIANS" I MISS YOU LES... 6/9/15 - 8/13/09 R.I.P BUDDY. IT'S ALWAYS A TREAT WHEN LES REALLY WANTED TO BE SERIOUS HE WOULD LOOK AT THE NECK, AFTER ALL THOSE YEARS ! GREAT VIDEO THANX FOR THE MEMORIES.... DAVE 😎 ☆
Having just discovered this channel I can't turn it off, OMG! Thank you for all these great performances. Thank heaven they were recorded. This is History. One of the greatest with some more of his friends.'
Ya know when you are able to give a bird to the guy who invented the guitar, sounds and recording apparatus stuff you use...you have a special relationship with him. These two are so dam hilarious together! This one of the series is by far the most comfortable. Most guitar legends from Betts to Walsh and May to Slash...they, at the start, are a little star struck and tongue tied. These videos need to be archived in the Smithsonian asap.
Funniest stage banter ever, unlike other guests Steve wasnt shy to crack a joke in front of Les and lead the conversation. Well, after all he is The Joker in his own lyrics
Not all guitar players carry picks. Somewhere around 1965 I decided I wasn't going to rely on if I had a little piece of plastic with me to be able to play. I play with my fingers. But I do quite often carry a slide in my pocket even when I'm not carrying a guitar.. just in case.
what is it with people making statements regarding so many music icons as being "underrated"? Please explain how Steve Miller is "underrated" It's equivalent to saying "Elvis was highly underrated" Now, if you were to say "In today's shitshow music industry, Steve Miller and so many other music icons are unknown or unrecognized by people who grew up with no idea of what "real music" is"... you would be correct I remember going to see Steve Miller in the 90's (can't even remember the exact year). A car of young kids pulls up, the only reason they were there was because of the song The Joker, with the line I'm a midnight toker... The show was great, aside from the keyboard player breaking into a rap during The Joker.... lot's of boos from us older fans
I have a pick on me always and have bought and sold a hundred guitars . Sadly I sold the best ones but kept a Martin and an SG ..thing I will sell the SG because the neck is just to wide for me ..But I ramble . I sure miss Les and I love Steve .
I wonder what Andrés Segovia thought of picks...... Sand Paper, my Dunlop has something like that, braille dots. Been using it for 15 years, the same pick. If they were relying on me to keep the industry alive I let them down.
Les Paul invented the solid body electric guitar. He made the first guitar pickup out of phonograph needles. He also invented sound on sound recording. (overdubbing) He had too many other inventions to name, but is almost solely responsible for the modern recording industry.
I didn't see it as insults, but as the way two very close longtime friends would communicate, using a lot of inside joke/story references we're not privy to.
Les was Steve's honorary uncle.....Steve also knew T-Bone Walker, who showed him a few things, too....Lucky Guy.....SM s father was a Doctor.....That's why SM met these guys, and more too.............AWESOME VIDDY, THANK YOU.......
Kinda think Les is being disrespected here might be family or friends but Les is bigger and better then that knob, he's monumental miller is a decent musician but a twat as a human being.
I've always loved Steve Miller's voice.❤😊
This a guitar father and son reunion... absolute gold.

Fun to hear folks with genuine regard for one another going at it. Damaged arm, arthritis and north of 90 and he still brings it.
His idol was Django Reinhardt and he could play pretty insane stuff for a guy with only 2 fingers on his fret hand!

Awesome soulful unique voice, great jam and fun banter. This was great.

Pure class of Steve Miller. An object lesson in understatement.
I read some bad news and came here to cheer up! Les was such a fun guy!
Miller has a great tone to his voice
I was at a Steve Miller concert in Seattle, once. Large arena. The was incredible, strange electricity in the air. Great concert!

Steve is so funny and such a talent, he could play anywhere with anyone. Les was amazing.
steve an his musick are allways a delite, god bless him an les...
Early 90's & Les still had it!
I love how Les's sense of humour shines through with his final notes on All Of Me.
the more I see of him the more I respect the basic non fanatic soul of Mr Les Paul... no shit just plain old family fun and a ton of talent

Lou stole the show. Great vocals, Lou. Nice phrasing, etc.

LES WAS SUCH A LOVELY GUY!

Les Paul loved I imagine Steve like his own. Son. And I think Steve loved him too
Les has a pretty sharp mind for a guy his age. RIP Master!

Looks like Steve's playing a LP Studio. What a riot.
Nothing like a Steve Miller show!
I own a red studio just like that! Now when I play it, I'm going to think of this. Thank you for posting.

One of my favorite songs
The old 1,4,5 .. but I want to Fly Like An Eagle :)
Thank you.
Monster piano player!
So, les DOES remember that he knows Steve Miller! From way back! (But not way, way back. Cause Steve was not born yet!)
Great stuff,.....Steve's, highly underrated!

True talent. Very enjoyable
in the 70s and later in the 80s this guy was flooding the airwaves with hits just like bachman turner overdrive who he toured with
Loved Steve Miller since Space Cowboy
Les. Paul limagn loved Steve like he was his own son l believe Steve loved him back too
Mercury Zephyr Fairmont and it ended up with a Torino Motor in it!
I used to always play T Bone Shuffle.
Fantabulous ❤️
I have a pick on me always and have bought and sold a hundred guitars . Sadly I sold the best ones but kept a Martin and an SG ..thing I will sell the SG because the neck is just to wide for me ..But I ramble . I sure miss Les and I love Steve .
Who couldn't like Les Paul playing his Les Paul with Steve Miller?
I’d love to know who’s on the keys here. Beautiful musician
1:14 very true, I've used a LOT od weird things for picks when I'm desperate for one.
Wonderful!

Jeff Beck and Richie Kotzen: *”allow us to introduce ourselves”*
93?!?!?! LP is AMAZING!!!
I could meet Steve miller and not suspect he’s a rock star.
Its because he is a space cowboy ..
Some people call him More-ease...
These guys should have been a comedy act...! (In addition to the music...)

I like Steve. We need more like him.
Steve has a classic easy to like voice.
Awsome Cheeeers!!!!

Steve is hilarious here
Steve is cool.
😅Steve! The finger to your godfather! All in good fun.
Wish Steve would do a tutorial on his Jet Airliner Riff...(The real way)
What luck, growing up next door to Les Paul...
Steve wasn't having Les's bullshit, so he beat him at his own game... insults!!
Yeah right, right!

PC Liberal disease. There is a treatment for that. On TV commercials every night.

Omg so funny hahaha
Okay. Where can we get those Les and Mary recordings of their rehearsal?!
Where do you get these videos? They're an amazing recollection of these legends

Les looks like he wants to play a standard...
93....... 93!!!!
Steve should've showed up with a Fender Stratacaster to compliment the sign language he used to let Les know the song started in F.
It would be really hard to top that one
SM fared a lot better with Les Paul (for obvious reasons) than Joe Satriani did.
Me too!
93!!!!!! F..K lucky if you can get out of bed !!!!!
Two cheeseheads, jammin' down.

Les Paul is a guitar legend he can play whichever damn way he pleases and keyboard losers like you just have to take it.
Kinda think Les is being disrespected here might be family or friends but Les is bigger and better then that knob, he's monumental miller is a decent musician but a twat as a human being.
