Don’t need a box cutter, just sharpen your knife
Best thing I have heard in a long time!
If you don’t know how to sharpen, just find a place near you that does it. It usually only costs a few dollars per blade and will make you actually love your knife again.

Great craftsman - I love all the attention to detail from the packaging to the rebind itself. Great looking leather. Please don't buy a box opener. Get you a good crock stick knife sharpener. They are super easy to use.

ON A SIDE NOTE: With regards to your dull knife. Depending on how dull it is, you might be able to touch up the edge yourself w/ an inexpensive knife sharpener. Something like a ceramic rod "turn box" sharpener (rods are placed in a holder at particular angles, and you draw the knife edge along the rods) can be had for not much dinero. There are certainly various whetstones that can be used (and, depending on the stone's material, they might not have to be LITERALLY wet). In a pinch, one can even use the bottom of a coffee mug (if the YT videos can be believed)!

The heirloom heritage is my ideal layout. Do you know of any Bible that has the same specs (size, font, type, paper) with a less expensive leather?

I may want to do a couple of Bible rebinds sometime this year. Are any rebinders more affordable than others? Or do they all tend to be in the same ballpark of pricing? I know the type of leather used and the size of the text block make a big difference.
If you don't know the answers, could you please recommend a few Bible rebinders I can contact? I already contacted Rugged Cross and got his price sheet.

I think it all depends on the rebinder. I have really enjoyed working with Rugged Cross, Logos, SDG, ICA, Lion & Lamb, AE, and others… hoping to review a few more new folks soon.

I recommend reading from different versions. If you’re careful of idolatry, I think collecting can be fun.

Hey Tim, I am looking to do a rebind. But I am really wanting to give it the Royal treatment, page edging, under gilt, rounding corners great cover etc. who would you recommend? This is my Cambridge NIV wide margin insight Bible. I think it is THE ONE! But it needs something more then the cover it came with. Thanks in advance!
Love that Bible. I don’t think all of the rebinders that I’ve reviewed do all of that, so you’ll probably have to ask around and see who’s comfortable. I know Jeffrey at PTL has rounded corners before.
