When I joined the Army I learned to break in boots using 70% isopropyl alcohol to prevent staining like you'd get using water. I now use a stretcher similar to the one you have but I spray the inside of the shoe with alcohol first. I have very wide feet so this has been a helpful habit for years.
This was a wonderful video. Thank you so much for all the details. ✨💐 I’ve had my eye on both the Claire shoe, and the All Heels On Duty styles, so this came in perfect timing. 💕
I am so sad that AD didn’t restock the black/blue Bernadette’s! I only recently discovered AD & got the new green Parker’s, but of all the beautiful Oxford style shoes they have I probably would have splurged and bought those Bernadette’s if they had them. Unfortunately they changed to blue/white and aren’t currently planning on restocking the old color
I have a pair of Bernadette’s, but can’t wear them for too long because the heels is a little tall for me. I’ve been wanting a pair of their Claires but haven’t wanted to splurge because I have these brown ones. I want a pair of black Parkers. You’ll have to share if you like them.
@@BiblioChic I really love the style of shoe but it doesn't _quite_ fit right. I added a half inset & need to try adding a sandle strap pad to the top of the heel since it doesn't quite hug my heel enough. I think I will play with some varying thicknesses of hosiery to get the perfect fit. Wearing to church it is mostly comfortable, the true test will be in a couple days when I wear them to an event where I will be on my feet 4/5hrs. For me the heel height is fine & it I don't mind fiddling with inserts and padding to make it work right for me. I am considering finding some type of clip so if I want to wear them without the ribbon bow I can, but not sure yet. Can't wait till I can try some of their other shoes!
Let me know your leather shoe care tips!
Sunday evening is traditionally shoe polishing day.
Women's Oxford heels are my hands down favorite to wear!!
Thanks for this video

That is a super helpful tip! I have a new pair of leather boots that I haven't broken in and I"m going to try that.

Bear grease to treat your shoes
I'll need to find a supplier. I have mink oil for now.
