Tropical Estuary Lure Fishing - Barra and Threadfin Salmon

  • Here’s a little local sessions I had recently with a mate chasing barra and threadfin salmon, it’s been a long winter with a proper barra drought for me so I was stoked to get them to bite in a heavily pressured system, on the way back in I found a decent school of salmon but no love from them.
When I got home I arrived to some new lures from the Molix stables that the legends from EJ Todd had sent me to try.. After the day I’d just had I decided to go back the next day with the misso and get redemption on the threadfin and to try out the new 7” Molix RT Shad and 105 lipless Jerk on a few barra.
There’s a full run down on the tackle used mid way through the video for those interested. Link to my leader knot can be found here • THE FG KNOT SUCKS!!! -...
    Enjoy ✌🏻

I'm from Central Oz and don't go fishing often. For the first time this June I'm off to Cairns so I'm looking forward to something different from the cold ocean fishing. Needless to say, I've been searching 'Cairns fishing' on UA-cam a lot in recent weeks.

How goods a Mugil. Seeing them ripping past the standing timber gave me deja vu and made me moist.

I enjoy the under-stated way you go about presenting to camera, you vary things up nicely and do the gear tips bit really well. Hope the channel keeps building. Bit of a naff question, but what brand is the skull and crossbones cap you're wearing? BKK? I saw Matt in Pelagic Pursuit has one too...

Depends on what fish, for the most part I’ll say no, but to pressured big salty barra then yes definitely. A lot of the time on big barra I’ll stop the ping once I’ve located fish.,
