Actually, there's a major difference between the movie Ron and the book Ron. The movie Ron was just there because he was a key character in the books. The movies would have gladly killed him. The book Ron was street smart and reliable.
How do i not remember that? I've read the entire series a few times over in my teens..... Ron struck me as arrogant selfish stupid uncouth unreliable at best. He literally abandoned his team in thier darkest hour. If thier is angst in the "golden trio" it is ALWAYS r9n who starts it and usually can't even be asked to apologize. He spends pretty much the entire series as a hanger on of Harry's and even worse, will enjoy benefiting off Harry's fame, which Harry dislikes, he will even throw jealousy Harry's way... He constantly doubts his closest friends. He is weak. He is kinda ugly. He IS stupid. Being great at chess doesn't make you smart. Sure. Plot has dictated that Ron be present at important times and events. But honestly?... anyone else could have done his work. Literally. Anyone else. Besides the chess part, there isn't anything he did that was truly special and not doable by others. He was just in the right place at the right time. He has extreamly low self confidence, but walks around with a false "you're no better than me" attitude. He is just kinda pathetic. And worst of all... he got with hermione... for no logical reason. Hermione has spent most of the books being disgusted with him or neutral at best. He has made her cry half a dozen times and again, couldn't even be asked to feel bad about it most times. If Ron was a real life person and he wanted to be my friend... I would say thanks by no thanks.

The movies never wanted to kill him, JK Rowling actually planned to kill him in the books. Watch the sit down "interview" between JK and Dan Radcliffe, she said she planned to kill him but realised she was in a dark place at that time in her life and was taking it out on the story. Its why she killed Lupin and Tonks despite them being some of her fave characters.

I am still upset that Hedwig got killed off. Especially the way she went in the book. She was the first real gift Harry ever received in his life, and she was a very loyal companion. She deserved better.
I wouldn't say street smart. He's just good at planning for events and possibilities which is why he's so good at chess. I would have enjoyed seeing him actually help more with strategy in the events leading up to the battle, it would have been a nice boost of self esteem for his character to get to be asked to help. He could have gotten out of Harry's shadow a bit more.

He would only use parseltongue in his sleep if he were either a snake or talking to one in his sleep and even if he was speaking parseltongue in his mouth it would only sound like a long string of sounds and it would be next to impossible to figure out where one single syllable or multi syllable word ended and the next began and completely impossible to figure out what each word meant as Harry was sleeping and Ron had nothing to associate the sounds too.

I'm going to say something unpopular: Ron and Hermione are a better match than Harry and Hermione. Ron was absent from the trio twice: in GOF when he fell out with Harry due to jealousy, and in DH when he was affected by the horcrux. On both occasions, Harry and Hermione fell into quiet misery, because while Ron was the less competent and less accomplished wizard of the three, he was the one that cheered the other two up and made life bearable. Harry and Hermione were both entirely too serious. It's not really an accident that Harry and Hermione both married Weasleys.
Agreed. Ron may not have been as book smart as Hermione, but he had common sense. If he didn't then he would never had made it back to them in the last book or been so good at chess. I am a very emotional person and my husband, being a Marine, is not. We balance each other out. He helps me be calm and I help him remember that its ok to show emotions. No marriage is perfect, but I think that Ron and Hermione were a great couple. She would keep him going and he would teach her how to relax.
imo Harry should have ended up with someone who didn't care about how famous he was, like Luna or a foreigner. Hermione should have definitely found someone who can really appreciate her. Ron values comfort over everything else and so probably would have had a string of partners but none for terribly long as they would take a bit to realise, no, this really IS Ron. He's capable of more but can't be bothered.
Also, make him a 40 year old heroin addict who was just dreaming after he shot up a massive dose of smack, about fantasies about his troubled, abusive childhood and what could have fixed it in an ideal fantasy world.
I always thought it was pretty obvious that Snape was grooming and preparing Harry in how to cope with the horrifying things he was about to see and do. Snape had both seen and traveled the deepest depths of the dark side. He knew one must have a certain degree of mental fortitude to cope with it, and he knew that Harry was going to be thrown head first into that pit with zero care in the world. So he deliberately pushed Harry gradually down that path and prepared him for it and taught him how to fight to keep ones sanity and love for life.
I disagree. It was Dumbledore who was grooming Harry. Snape didn't learn about it till Deathly Hallows! However Because of his love for Lily he felt responsible for Harry in her stead.

Ron is NOT SLOW AT ALL. The director of this movie totally butchered his character. Ron has feelings just like everyone else in the movie including Harry. If the creator of this video had actually read this book, he would know that in the seventh book especially, (but all the other books as well), that he was very protective of Hermione and his love for her couldn't matched. It also wasn't just Hermione, but Ginny as well. At the end of The Half Blood Prince, Harry broke up with Ginny to protect her. At the beginning of The Deathly Hallows, Ginny gave Harry a happy birthday kiss. Ron waked in while they were kissing and was shocked and angry at the fact that Harry had broke Ginny's heart and just giving her a tease. Ron was very smart and loving. Ron shouldn't be someone to underestimate.

Ron in the books was much more likable. He was more charming, more outgoing, more popular and had good street smarts even if he was scared at times. The movie made him rather pathetic but in truth he was much more courageous and had strong loyalty to Harry even when he was mad at Harry. He was much more relatable because he was funny and petty at times. He knew a lot so he was obvious Y the person who helped Harry and Hermoine a lot. Loved loved loved his character. To me Hermoine was less charismatic by comparison in the book. She was much more feminine than the movie. She had courage but was more timid and not afraid to be scared. She depended just as much on Ron as Harry. It’s obvious to me how Ron and Hermoine ended up as a couple. They were worlds apart in some aspects but together they fit like a puzzle. I don’t like the movie as much as it made Hermoine seem like she was much stronger and more street smart than she actually was in the book. What pissed me off the most was when she took a lot of Ron’s important lines.

He wants nothing more than to be handed everything, and he doesn't care if anything changes. He is a literally hinderence to Hermione. WE see this in the eulog where Ron brags to Harry that he got his license by just casting a spell on the instructor. Hermione asked him to go get a license that was it. Not fight Voldemort, to go get a license which most 15-16 years get fairly easily. So rather than learning something, putting in a minute amount of effort he just did the easiest thing and lied to Hermione about it. And then bragged to Harry about it. That alone shows that Ron even in his 30s is just a teenager mentally he doesn't care enough to actually put effort he just wants to go hang out or relax. Thats a problem when your partner is the poster child for being extremely ambitious and wanting to change the world. I pity Hermione as a character because she will always be stuck with this man-child who will never grow up. I doubt he changed diapers, I doubt he watched the kids much until they where old enough to play games. He worked to become an auror, got in and in two years quit because it was to hard of work. Even though he was working with his two best friends. When the going gets tough, ron gets going.

In the book it clearly states that the third brother, after having a family of his own relinquishes the invisibility cloak to his son and greeted death as an old friend. But yea JK did say she felt as though that fan theory had some merit to it, meaning that those characters represented the stories or reasons behind the wand, the stone and the cloak.

But the thing is, Ron is the only person who can keep up with Hermione for the most part. She loves a good debate and only Ron can give her that. It's also worth noting that with Hermione and Harry, Hermione "wilts" whenever Harry lets out his anger. Harry needs someone who can handle his anger and Hermione can't give him that. About Neville's parents....Yeah, that IS a tragic story, but it's one I find to be very well told. He starts out squirmish, insecure and a bit dumb, but grows to be amicable, strong and intelligent. His parents would be very proud of him! And his tragey is that he knows that, but his Mom and Dad are "gone forever", in a way. He is like Harry, without the "The whole wizarding world knows and cares" part. Just a normal guy dealing with an incredibly crappy situation. I like that; it's really good character building.
Funny thing though most of the wizarding world does know and his parents were very popular. Neville struggles so much more because of his personality. He is very awkward and makes a lot of mistakes. I always thought people like Mcgonigal was so hard on him was because she expected more. That was her tough love approuch. She didn't hold back to punish Harry either.
I seem to recall that the 7th year at Hogwarts was optional. The characters were all considered adults at 17, before starting their 7th year, the Trace broke when they turned 17, the Weasley twins both left Hogwarts before finishing her 7th year, and I think at least 1 character directly said the 7th year was optional.
Technically all of Hogwarts is optional but leaving ur 7th counts as dropping out. Like Hermione did her 7th year but Kingsley Shacklebolt the new minister said that if anyone survived and fought in the battle of hogwarts he believed that they were good enough to be aurors

With wizards turning into animals I always thought it would be great if Dumbledore was a Phoenix, it would explain why he has one hanging around all the time (his mate), and why he is so much more powerful than other wizards. Also you will note that most of his strongest spells are fire based. His obsession with immortally would also be explained, as he would be trying to understand more about himself and his kind.

You can effectively "test out" of school, skipping ahead to college, or whatever. I always figured Harry and Ron effectively did the same, in the wizarding world. They didn't "drop out" as much as they advanced past what the school had to offer. I always assumed they were granted "diplomas" for their real life achievements, in saving the world from an evil that adults could not.
I figured they could go far with Order of Merlin first class, but then could also take some N.E.W.T.s at the Ministry over the summer, like the Apparation Test.

I always thought that Harry should've gone back to Hogwarts, captained the Gryffindor quidditch team, and then gone on to play quidditch professionally for a few years before going on to his career as an Auror. Also, everything these guys said about Ron is wrong. He is not lazy, nor is he slow or otherwise dimwitted. He just happens to be best friends with two of the most powerful people at the school and gets a little overshadowed sometimes. The movies did his character wrong.
I actually like the Ron and Hermione relationship. Mine's a lot like it, my wife is way too intelligent and well read for her own good and I have a long way to go. But she's teaches me and I level her, so in the end we really balance out quite well.

I think what people dislike is that Ron always seemed unwilling to learn from Hermione and usually did after implicitly making her cry....Harry was different, IMO Harry and Hermione were the actual opposite attracts...Harry is intuitive and his decisions are driven by mostly his gut feeling. Hermione is more assertive and logical...hence they usually end up arguing...because she wanted him to think before acting...and Harry wanted her to sometimes just act instead of thinking too much...very much like Spok and Kirk in the startrek universe or spok and uhura....but Ron and Hermione instead of opposite attracts are mainly incompatible. They can't grow together- Ron maybe if he is willing to learn from Hermione but Hermione i am not sure...

snape was an awful person though. he bullied the kids he taught (forcing neville to almost poison his toad bc a potion had gone wrong, making fun of hermione’s teeth etc) and favoured his own house very blatantly, his obsession with lily was really creepy and didn’t even stop once she died. the only reason he stopped being a deatheater was because lily died and when she did, he literally just stepped over james’ body and ignored a crying baby in the room to hug her body?? he had absolutely no reason to be so shitty towards his students yet he did it anyway. i’m sick of people thinking he was a good person just because he wasn’t on voldemort’s side in the end

A well played antagonist type character often becomes a fan favorite. Darth Vader, the Joker, Hannibal Lecter, Freddie Kreuger, the Terminator, and Thanos as examples.
I think JKR struggled to kill off Mr. Weasley as opposed to Fred, not Lupin. P.S. Hermione did not cheat on Ron as your thumbnail implies. And Hermione’s parents did not permanently lose their memories. Hermione restored them when she found them after the battle in (France.). Lockhart’s spell backfires and what is really dark was that he was using a spell with such force and effect that he suffered, on a teenage boy, Ron. What would have been the effect on Ron, close to the effect on him?
When Harry "died", It cast a protection spell over all the remaining people similar to Lily's, so no one died after in the second round of battle. If we take the same rules, if Harry gave himself up straight at the start of the battle, Fred, Lupin, Tonks, Collin and many more could have survived 🙄🙄

But in the books, she was still *moving feebly* and also that Wizards and Witches are stronger than Muggles. As when Harry was blasted into one of the walls, he didn’t die, the same is with Lavender as she was thrown from the roof but still making slight movement.
I don’t like Dumbledore. Not because he is gay, but because he kept Harry at the Dursley’s and let them bully him. There is never a reason to keep a child in an abusive home.
There actually is, but I'm not sure if the reason was mentioned in the movies. Harry was save from Voldemort as long as he had a home where his mothers blood was present, and the only person that was still alive was his aunt Petunia. But I agree with the point that Dumbledore could have made sure they treat Harry better.

I never thought Snape was a good guy. He was pretty much a terrible person, other than loving Harry's mother. In some ways I think of his feelings as part of the ancient magic that she used to protect Harry. I did like how Rowling showed his side of things... the cruelty he was subjected to by "the good guys". We always think we're the good guys, even as we hurt others.
To be fair that had a lot to do with the whole Griffindor vs Sytherin. And Snape fought back and cursed them as well. He was the one calling people mudbloods and creating dangerous spells in school. He was a death eater willingly.
Snape was the son of a Witch and a Muggle man who abused and abandoned them and ultimately despised the magical world, so he was left with what seemed to be a mother who loved him and meant it well but had little to offer him and little ability to take care of him, not only on a practical and financial level, but also on an emotional one, maybe she had anaclitic depression or something similar. Barricading into his magical side was a psychological survival strategy to him, as to gain control and power over this whole sense of abandonment and powerlessness. The step from refusing to identify himself as partly Muggle to supporting magical supremacism is short, because like every single violent ideology, it works because it gives unhappy and people a sense of control and power.
I feel like Harry, Ron and Hermione should have been allowed just to take final exams/N.E.W.T's instead of doing a final year. Hermione would refuse to take the exams since, "It just wouldn't feel right" to her, but Harry and Ron would take them and pass. They all demonstrated amazing magic and skill during the second war that it should have basically counted as graduating.
Snape is a good person on the inside, and him crossing paths with Lilly and fallin in love with her is no coincidence. If he was a bad guy, he would not care even if he had feelings for her, like a true psychopath/sociopath. But he always still cared for the well being of his students, like how he stood in front of the kids in Hp 3 when Lupin the werewolf was in front of them. Therefore, your statement, "If it were not for his love, he would have enjoyed being a Death Eater" is a lie. He never enjoyed it, I feel like. It was rather like a drug for a depressed and hopeless man who actually would like something better than that. And, he got it. He got to be harry's guardian black angel haha and harry was heartwarmed by Snape not just because of his loyalty to Dumbledore but as he loved Harry's mother and was watching over harry and doing his best to protect him this whole time. That is the biggest reason Harry named his son after snape, cause the reason actually relates directly to him.
I disagree. I think that even though he loved Lily and did some good deed because of it, he was mostly a bad person. He abused and bullied kids to the point where he was Neville's boggart. He didn't care that James and Harry would die as long as he got what he wanted, Lily. And the fact that he went over James' body and ignored a crying Harry to cradle Lily's body is simply awful. Also, he seemed to think he was entitled to Lily's love even when she only wanted to be friends, and called her a Mudblood after a fight. He couldn't let go of his hatred for James and took it out on Harry, despite him being Lily's son too, the woman he claimed to love. He also outed Lupin as a werewolf to the Wizarding World, basically guaranteeing the Lupin couldn't find a job. He also couldn't get past his old grievances with Sirius (not that Sirius treated him well either), when he knew that Sirius had spent years in Azkaban for a crime he hadn't committed when Snape himself got a get-out-of-jail-free card for he was a Death Eater and committed many crimes. So, yeah, as you said, Snape did quite a few good deeds, spying on Voldemort, being loyal to Dumbledore, giving Harry the sword, saving the kids from the werewolf and Harry from the broom jinx Quirrell had on him. But overall, I don't think it made up for the bad. And I believe that if Voldemort had decided to go after Neville instead of Harry, for example, Snape never would've turned on Voldemort and would have remained a loyal Death Eater. Snape is a grey character, but it's a pretty dark grey if you ask me. And even though it's canon that Harry named a kid after him, it seems pretty out of character, in my opinion. Harry having had grown up in an abusive household wouldn't have named his son after an abusive person, despite his good acts. Rubeus Albus Potter seems like a better name LOL Anyway, that's just my thoughts on the matter
What would have happened had Snape been sorted into Gryffindor? Also, how loyal of a Death Eater was Snape before Voldemort went after Lily? How many years does it take to make up for his bad years? We don't even know what he might have done, if anything, as a Death Eater.

In the book, Arthur Weasley is obsessed with muggle culture and got excited of meeting Hermione's parents. Some sort of parental influence may had been a partial contribution to drawn Hermione and Ron closer together. The Granger's desire to have wizard in their bloodline and Arthur Weasley obsession with muggles, it is a win win!

Got two theories.. 1) Dumbledore was the master of Death. As it is told in the tale of three brothers, the one who possesses the Deathly Hallows(all three of them), becomes the master of death. Dumbledore owned the elder wand; he had Marvolo Gaunt's ring i.e. the Resurrection Stone and he had James Potter's Cloak of invisibility, which he later gave it to Harry (even though he didn't own it). That makes him the master of death. 2) Harry and Voldemort are distant relatives. They both are very distant brothers, as James Potter possessed the invisibility cloak from his ancestors. One of them should have come from the Peverell family. The same with Voldemort, his mom had the Resurrection Stone. Hope this is correct, I spent a whole day making sense of this..😊😊😊
I could be wrong but I don't believe that Dumbledore could ever be the master of death unless he's a descendent of one of the Peverell Brothers and as far as I'm aware he is not. Again I may be wrong I'm pretty sure that to be the of death you have to be a descendent of the Peverell Brothers and have all the deathly hallows. The most likely people to be the master of death are Voldemort and Harry Potter. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong I haven't read the series in a while
I also believe you had to have all 3 together. Dumbledore gave the cloak back to Harry during his first year. So at the end of the first year, he only had the wand. He got the ring the summer after 5th year I believe, It was definitely after Chambers when he started to suspect about Horcruxes. It had to be before 6th year because when he comes to get Harry his hand is gnarled and it is told that Snape had to stop the curse from instantly killing him. He put the ring on when he found it, and had to go to Snape immediately, which still only gave him a few more months after it. So, Dumbledore never had all three at the same time.
Not sure if I agree with the last one. Technically, Harry had all three of the hallows at the end of the DEATHLY HALLOWS book, which would make him "master of death." Which is why, I believe, the Voldemort part of him died but Harry himself didn't. I think seeing Voldemort, Snape, and Harry as the three brothers is interesting, but this theory is far fetched, IMO.

James Potter was related to the third brother and Voldemort was related to the 2nd brother. What she mentioned about the theory is just a theory of comparison. Voldemort wanted to be immortal so he acts like the 1st brother who wanted the elder wand to be invincible. Snape acted like the 2nd brother bc he always mourned Lily's death and I'm sure if there was a way to bring her back, he would, like the 2nd brother did with the stone. Harry acts like the 3rd brother bc when he dies, he dies willingly, like the 3rd brother, who greeted death as an old friend. When Harry died, Dumbledore was there to greet him, thus Dumbledore acting as death from the Three Brothers story. Hope I explained that clearly enough :)
The only part about tonks and lupins was how they died behind the scenes. I think it would've been a more powerful moment to see it happen since it seemed they died holding hands so they weren't likely killed by a killing curse. Or at least one of them wasn't. Same with showing fred's death in the film.
I have a dark Harry Potter theory of my own that I never managed to post. It revolves around a character that was long hated by everyone even though he gave up any chance for love or glory so he could work as a double agent for Dumbledore under Voldemort and being the downfall of the Dark Lords army from within. Of course I am referring to… Peter Petigrew! What you didn’t see that coming? It’s actually a long involved story which I can’t put down in the comments box but the cliff notes version is- After Dumbledore hears the prophecy he realizes he has a chance to destroy the Dark Lord once and for all but he needs the help of one wizard to do it. A wizard who has always aspired to bravery but has never managed to find much of it in himself. He convinces Peter to put aside his feelings and his personal interests and do what’s best for the entire world which requires removing Voldemort from it! But to bring about Voldemort’s fall… sacrifices had to be made. Lily and James were sacrificed so Voldemort could “mark” Harry “as his equal” like the prophecy said and Sirius was framed so Harry could go to the Dursley’s where the protection spell carried by his Aunt Petunia could protect him until he came of age. It also would provide some time for the wizarding world to recover and allow Peter to fake his death so he could position himself to protect Harry in a less open form. Fast forward to Sirius’ escape from Azkaban, Dumbledore hadn’t planned for that and it almost derailed the entire plan. Peter had to hide out and then when caught play the part of a coward because revealing the real reason he betrayed Lily and James might turn them against Dumbledore and then it would all have been for nothing. After getting Sirius on the run Dumbledore decided his best choice was to accelerate his plans. In order for Voldemort to truly be destroyed they needed him exposed so he allowed Harry to be caught so the Dark Lord could return trusting Harry’s disarming skill and twin core wand to protect him and he had the only known two way portkey to ever exist to escape with. Why make a two way portkey for the trap you set up? It makes no sense to provide such an easy escape for the people you’re trying to capture! In the final book when Harry was captured isn’t it a bit “convenient” that Aberforth just happened to look in the mirror at the right time to see Harry needed help and managed to figure out the exact place to send Dobby to rescue them? Maybe he had already been told where they were and only checked the mirror to confirm. But if that’s the case who told him? I’ve got a guess! At the end of it all he pretended to try to stop them and die as a coward so that the kids would keep on the path. He had sacrificed everything, even his friends, his human life and any chance he once had of being seen as anything but a coward all to save the wizarding and Muggle world from the scourge of Voldemort and the death eaters. Thoughts? Questions? Comments?

Yes finally someone said it. In the book his facination with Grindelwald seemed to me like a crush from the way I read it. I'll admit I thought he might be a bit bisexual so it wasn't a massive surprise to me when she confirmed it. And most of the persons facts seem to be more movie based rather than book based. As you learn a fair bit about Dumbledores passed in the book.

The reason Ron and Hermione COULD be amazing together is because with conscious effort, they would both drive each other to become more well rounded individuals. Ron gets Hermione to relax and live in the moment and Hermione gets Ron to put more thought into his actions. You see the changes later on in both of them somewhat. Hermione a bit earlier and Ron in the last book. Check out the relationship between INTJ and ENFP as an example of this. Not just speculation but as an INTJ who met the perfect person who not only made me happy but made me want to constantly better myself in order to make her happier every day than she was the last.
I do agree with you but I think Hermione is an ISTJ. INTJs tend to be more arrogant and even though they value rules they don't think they apply to them if it doesn't suit them. Plus they are more sarcastic, filled with dark humor and colder towards people. Another difference is that INTJs manage to be creative in some ways, while the same cannot be said for ISTJs or Hermione really. Finally Snake is an INTJ, Voldemort is an INTJ and I don't think Hermione has the same personality type as them. No offense is meant for the INTJs though, just sharing facts here and to be honest I am one myself so...

I wouldn't say street smart. He's just good at planning for events and possibilities which is why he's so good at chess. I would have enjoyed seeing him actually help more with strategy in the events leading up to the battle, it would have been a nice boost of self esteem for his character to get to be asked to help. He would only use parseltongue in his sleep if he were either a snake or talking to one in his sleep and even if he was speaking parseltongue in his mouth it would only sound like a long string of sounds and it would be next to impossible to figure out where one single syllable or multi syllable word ended and the next began and completely impossible to figure out what each word meant as Harry was sleeping and Ron had nothing to associate the sounds too.

I'm going to say something unpopular: Ron and Hermione are a better match than Harry and Hermione.
Ron was absent from the trio twice: in GOF when he fell out with Harry due to jealousy, and in DH when he was affected by the horcrux. On both occasions, Harry and Hermione fell into quiet misery, because while Ron was the less competent and less accomplished wizard of the three, he was the one that cheered the other two up and made life bearable. Harry and Hermione were both entirely too serious.
It's not really an accident that Harry and Hermione both married Weasleys.

Agreed. Ron may not have been as book smart as Hermione, but he had common sense. If he didn't then he would never had made it back to them in the last book or been so good at chess. I am a very emotional person and my husband, being a Marine, is not. We balance each other out. He helps me be calm and I help him remember that its ok to show emotions. No marriage is perfect, but I think that Ron and Hermione were a great couple. She would keep him going and he would teach her how to relax.

I always thought it was pretty obvious that Snape was grooming and preparing Harry in how to cope with the horrifying things he was about to see and do. Snape had both seen and traveled the deepest depths of the dark side. He knew one must have a certain degree of mental fortitude to cope with it, and he knew that Harry was going to be thrown head first into that pit with zero care in the world. So he deliberately pushed Harry gradually down that path and prepared him for it and taught him how to fight to keep ones sanity and love for life.

Ron is NOT SLOW AT ALL. The director of this movie totally butchered his character. Ron has feelings just like everyone else in the movie including Harry. If the creator of this video had actually read this book, he would know that in the seventh book especially, (but all the other books as well), that he was very protective of Hermione and his love for her couldn't matched. It also wasn't just Hermione, but Ginny as well. At the end of The Half Blood Prince, Harry broke up with Ginny to protect her. At the beginning of The Deathly Hallows, Ginny gave Harry a happy birthday kiss. Ron waked in while they were kissing and was shocked and angry at the fact that Harry had broke Ginny's heart and just giving her a tease. Ron was very smart and loving. Ron shouldn't be someone to underestimate.

Ron in the books was much more likable. He was more charming, more outgoing, more popular and had good street smarts even if he was scared at times. The movie made him rather pathetic but in truth he was much more courageous and had strong loyalty to Harry even when he was mad at Harry. He was much more relatable because he was funny and petty at times. He knew a lot so he was obvious

To me Hermoine was less charismatic by comparison in the book. She was much more feminine than the movie. She had courage but was more timid and not afraid to be scared. She depended just as much on Ron as Harry.
It’s obvious to me how Ron and Hermoine ended up as a couple. They were worlds apart in some aspects but together they fit like a puzzle. I don’t like the movie as much as it made Hermoine seem like she was much stronger and more street smart than she actually was in the book. What pissed me off the most was when she took a lot of Ron’s important lines.

Ron was by far better in the books. But stop with the strong loyalty shit. He abandoned twice and while he regrets both times. Nothing is ever done about that, nothing fundamentally changes about Ron to correct this very bad character flaw. Really Ron is not stupid but Ron is honestly a D student who barely passes his classes and mostly due to the fact that Hermione did most of his homework for him or Harry did. Without those two Ron is 21 and still in hogwarts. Not because he is stupid but because he is lazy, he is the picture of unambitious and that is his flaw with Hermione.
Hermione is ambitious, clever, driven, and wants to make a difference in the world.
Ron is the polar opposite. He wants nothing more than to be handed everything, and he doesn't care if anything changes. He is a literally hinderence to Hermione. WE see this in the eulog where Ron brags to Harry that he got his license by just casting a spell on the instructor. Hermione asked him to go get a license that was it. Not fight Voldemort, to go get a license which most 15-16 years get fairly easily. So rather than learning something, putting in a minute amount of effort he just did the easiest thing and lied to Hermione about it. And then bragged to Harry about it. That alone shows that Ron even in his 30s is just a teenager mentally he doesn't care enough to actually put effort he just wants to go hang out or relax.
Thats a problem when your partner is the poster child for being extremely ambitious and wanting to change the world. I pity Hermione as a character because she will always be stuck with this man-child who will never grow up. I doubt he changed diapers, I doubt he watched the kids much until they where old enough to play games. He worked to become an auror, got in and in two years quit because it was to hard of work. Even though he was working with his two best friends.

But the thing is, Ron is the only person who can keep up with Hermione for the most part. She loves a good debate and only Ron can give her that. It's also worth noting that with Hermione and Harry, Hermione "wilts" whenever Harry lets out his anger. Harry needs someone who can handle his anger and Hermione can't give him that. About Neville's parents....Yeah, that IS a tragic story, but it's one I find to be very well told. He starts out squirmish, insecure and a bit dumb, but grows to be amicable, strong and intelligent. His parents would be very proud of him! And his tragey is that he knows that, but his Mom and Dad are "gone forever", in a way. He is like Harry, without the "The whole wizarding world knows and cares" part. Just a normal guy dealing with an incredibly crappy situation.
I like that; it's really good character building.
Funny thing though most of the wizarding world does know and his parents were very popular. Neville struggles so much more because of his personality. He is very awkward and makes a lot of mistakes. I always thought people like Mcgonigal was so hard on him was because she expected more. That was her tough love approuch. She didn't hold back to punish Harry either.
I seem to recall that the 7th year at Hogwarts was optional. The characters were all considered adults at 17, before starting their 7th year, the Trace broke when they turned 17, the Weasley twins both left Hogwarts before finishing her 7th year, and I think at least 1 character directly said the 7th year was optional.
Technically all of Hogwarts is optional but leaving ur 7th counts as dropping out. Like Hermione did her 7th year but Kingsley Shacklebolt the new minister said that if anyone survived and fought in the battle of hogwarts he believed that they were good enough to be aurors

You can effectively "test out" of school, skipping ahead to college, or whatever. I always figured Harry and Ron effectively did the same, in the wizarding world. They didn't "drop out" as much as they advanced past what the school had to offer. I always assumed they were granted "diplomas" for their real life achievements, in saving the world from an evil that adults could not.
As school projects go, defeating Voldemort, does seem like it should earn them top grades!

I always thought that Harry should've gone back to Hogwarts, captained the Gryffindor quidditch team, and then gone on to play quidditch professionally for a few years before going on to his career as an Auror.
Also, everything these guys said about Ron is wrong. He is not lazy, nor is he slow or otherwise dimwitted. He just happens to be best friends with two of the most powerful people at the school and gets a little overshadowed sometimes. The movies did his character wrong.
I actually like the Ron and Hermione relationship. Mine's a lot like it, my wife is way too intelligent and well read for her own good and I have a long way to go. But she's teaches me and I level her, so in the end we really balance out quite well.

I think what people dislike is that Ron always seemed unwilling to learn from Hermione and usually did after implicitly making her cry....Harry was different, IMO Harry and Hermione were the actual opposite attracts...Harry is intuitive and his decisions are driven by mostly his gut feeling. Hermione is more assertive and logical...hence they usually end up arguing...because she wanted him to think before acting...and Harry wanted her to sometimes just act instead of thinking too much...very much like Spok and Kirk in the startrek universe or spok and uhura....but Ron and Hermione instead of opposite attracts are mainly incompatible. They can't grow together- Ron maybe if he is willing to learn from Hermione but Hermione i am not sure...

Lockhart’s spell backfires and what is really dark was that he was using a spell with such force and effect that he suffered, on a teenage boy, Ron. When Harry "died", It cast a protection spell over all the remaining people similar to Lily's, so no one died after in the second round of battle. If we take the same rules, if Harry gave himself up straight at the start of the battle, Fred, Lupin, Tonks, Collin and many more could have survived 🙄🙄

But in the books, she was still *moving feebly* and also that Wizards and Witches are stronger than Muggles. As when Harry was blasted into one of the walls, he didn’t die, the same is with Lavender as she was thrown from the roof but still making slight movement.

I don’t like Dumbledore. Not because he is gay, but because he kept Harry at the Dursley’s and let them bully him. There is never a reason to keep a child in an abusive home.
There actually is, but I'm not sure if the reason was mentioned in the movies. Harry was save from Voldemort as long as he had a home where his mothers blood was present, and the only person that was still alive was his aunt Petunia. But I agree with the point that Dumbledore could have made sure they treat Harry better.

I never thought Snape was a good guy. He was pretty much a terrible person, other than loving Harry's mother. In some ways I think of his feelings as part of the ancient magic that she used to protect Harry. I did like how Rowling showed his side of things... the cruelty he was subjected to by "the good guys". We always think we're the good guys, even as we hurt others.
To be fair that had a lot to do with the whole Griffindor vs Sytherin. And Snape fought back and cursed them as well. He was the one calling people mudbloods and creating dangerous spells in school. He was a death eater willingly.
Snape was the son of a Witch and a Muggle man who abused and abandoned them and ultimately despised the magical world, so he was left with what seemed to be a mother who loved him and meant it well but had little to offer him and little ability to take care of him, not only on a practical and financial level, but also on an emotional one, maybe she had anaclitic depression or something similar. Barricading into his magical side was a psychological survival strategy to him, as to gain control and power over this whole sense of abandonment and powerlessness. The step from refusing to identify himself as partly Muggle to supporting magical supremacism is short, because like every single violent ideology, it works because it gives unhappy and people a sense of control and power.

I feel like Harry, Ron and Hermione should have been allowed just to take final exams/N.E.W.T's instead of doing a final year. Hermione would refuse to take the exams since, "It just wouldn't feel right" to her, but Harry and Ron would take them and pass. They all demonstrated amazing magic and skill during the second war that it should have basically counted as graduating.
Snape is a good person on the inside, and him crossing paths with Lilly and fallin in love with her is no coincidence. If he was a bad guy, he would not care even if he had feelings for her, like a true psychopath/sociopath. But he always still cared for the well being of his students, like how he stood in front of the kids in Hp 3 when Lupin the werewolf was in front of them.
Therefore, your statement, "If it were not for his love, he would have enjoyed being a Death Eater" is a lie. He never enjoyed it, I feel like. It was rather like a drug for a depressed and hopeless man who actually would like something better than that. And, he got it. He got to be harry's guardian black angel haha and harry was heartwarmed by Snape not just because of his loyalty to Dumbledore but as he loved Harry's mother and was watching over harry and doing his best to protect him this whole time. That is the biggest reason Harry named his son after snape, cause the reason actually relates directly to him.
I disagree. I think that even though he loved Lily and did some good deed because of it, he was mostly a bad person. He abused and bullied kids to the point where he was Neville's boggart. He didn't care that James and Harry would die as long as he got what he wanted, Lily. And the fact that he went over James' body and ignored a crying Harry to cradle Lily's body is simply awful. Also, he seemed to think he was entitled to Lily's love even when she only wanted to be friends, and called her a Mudblood after a fight. He couldn't let go of his hatred for James and took it out on Harry, despite him being Lily's son too, the woman he claimed to love. He also outed Lupin as a werewolf to the Wizarding World, basically guaranteeing the Lupin couldn't find a job. He also couldn't get past his old grievances with Sirius (not that Sirius treated him well either), when he knew that Sirius had spent years in Azkaban for a crime he hadn't committed when Snape himself got a get-out-of-jail-free card for he was a Death Eater and committed many crimes.
So, yeah, as you said, Snape did quite a few good deeds, spying on Voldemort, being loyal to Dumbledore, giving Harry the sword, saving the kids from the werewolf and Harry from the broom jinx Quirrell had on him. But overall, I don't think it made up for the bad. And I believe that if Voldemort had decided to go after Neville instead of Harry, for example, Snape never would've turned on Voldemort and would have remained a loyal Death Eater.
Snape is a grey character, but it's a pretty dark grey if you ask me.
And even though it's canon that Harry named a kid after him, it seems pretty out of character, in my opinion. Harry having had grown up in an abusive household wouldn't have named his son after an abusive person, despite his good acts. Rubeus Albus Potter seems like a better name LOL

What would have happened had Snape been sorted into Gryffindor? Also, how loyal of a Death Eater was Snape before Voldemort went after Lily? How many years does it take to make up for his bad years? We don't even know what he might have done, if anything, as a Death Eater.

In the book, Arthur Weasley is obsessed with muggle culture and got excited of meeting Hermione's parents. Some sort of parental influence may had been a partial contribution to drawn Hermione and Ron closer together. The Granger's desire to have wizard in their bloodline and Arthur Weasley obsession with muggles, it is a win win!

Got two theories..
1) Dumbledore was the master of Death.
As it is told in the tale of three brothers, the one who possesses the Deathly Hallows(all three of them), becomes the master of death. Dumbledore owned the elder wand; he had Marvolo Gaunt's ring i.e. the Resurrection Stone and he had James Potter's Cloak of invisibility, which he later gave it to Harry (even though he didn't own it). That makes him the master of death.
2) Harry and Voldemort are distant relatives.
They both are very distant brothers, as James Potter possessed the invisibility cloak from his ancestors. One of them should have come from the Peverell family. The same with Voldemort, his mom had the Resurrection Stone.

I could be wrong but I don't believe that Dumbledore could ever be the master of death unless he's a descendent of one of the Peverell Brothers and as far as I'm aware he is not. Again I may be wrong I'm pretty sure that to be the of death you have to be a descendent of the Peverell Brothers and have all the deathly hallows. The most likely people to be the master of death are Voldemort and Harry Potter. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong I haven't read the series in a while
I also believe you had to have all 3 together. Dumbledore gave the cloak back to Harry during his first year. So at the end of the first year, he only had the wand. He got the ring the summer after 5th year I believe, It was definitely after Chambers when he started to suspect about Horcruxes. It had to be before 6th year because when he comes to get Harry his hand is gnarled and it is told that Snape had to stop the curse from instantly killing him. He put the ring on when he found it, and had to go to Snape immediately, which still only gave him a few more months after it. So, Dumbledore never had all three at the same time.

Not sure if I agree with the last one. Technically, Harry had all three of the hallows at the end of the DEATHLY HALLOWS book, which would make him "master of death." Which is why, I believe, the Voldemort part of him died but Harry himself didn't. I think seeing Voldemort, Snape, and Harry as the three brothers is interesting, but this theory is far fetched, IMO.

James Potter was related to the third brother and Voldemort was related to the 2nd brother. What she mentioned about the theory is just a theory of comparison. Voldemort wanted to be immortal so he acts like the 1st brother who wanted the elder wand to be invincible. Snape acted like the 2nd brother bc he always mourned Lily's death and I'm sure if there was a way to bring her back, he would, like the 2nd brother did with the stone. Harry acts like the 3rd brother bc when he dies, he dies willingly, like the 3rd brother, who greeted death as an old friend. When Harry died, Dumbledore was there to greet him, thus Dumbledore acting as death from the Three Brothers story. Hope I explained that clearly enough :)

The only part about tonks and lupins was how they died behind the scenes. I think it would've been a more powerful moment to see it happen since it seemed they died holding hands so they weren't likely killed by a killing curse. Or at least one of them wasn't.
Same with showing fred's death in the film.
I have a dark Harry Potter theory of my own that I never managed to post. It revolves around a character that was long hated by everyone even though he gave up any chance for love or glory so he could work as a double agent for Dumbledore under Voldemort and being the downfall of the Dark Lords army from within. Of course I am referring to… Peter Petigrew!
What you didn’t see that coming? It’s actually a long involved story which I can’t put down in the comments box but the cliff notes version is-
After Dumbledore hears the prophecy he realizes he has a chance to destroy the Dark Lord once and for all but he needs the help of one wizard to do it. A wizard who has always aspired to bravery but has never managed to find much of it in himself. He convinces Peter to put aside his feelings and his personal interests and do what’s best for the entire world which requires removing Voldemort from it! But to bring about Voldemort’s fall… sacrifices had to be made.
Lily and James were sacrificed so Voldemort could “mark” Harry “as his equal” like the prophecy said and Sirius was framed so Harry could go to the Dursley’s where the protection spell carried by his Aunt Petunia could protect him until he came of age. It also would provide some time for the wizarding world to recover and allow Peter to fake his death so he could position himself to protect Harry in a less open form.
Fast forward to Sirius’ escape from Azkaban, Dumbledore hadn’t planned for that and it almost derailed the entire plan. Peter had to hide out and then when caught play the part of a coward because revealing the real reason he betrayed Lily and James might turn them against Dumbledore and then it would all have been for nothing.
After getting Sirius on the run Dumbledore decided his best choice was to accelerate his plans. In order for Voldemort to truly be destroyed they needed him exposed so he allowed Harry to be caught so the Dark Lord could return trusting Harry’s disarming skill and twin core wand to protect him and he had the only known two way portkey to ever exist to escape with. Why make a two way portkey for the trap you set up? It makes no sense to provide such an easy escape for the people you’re trying to capture!
In the final book when Harry was captured isn’t it a bit “convenient” that Aberforth just happened to look in the mirror at the right time to see Harry needed help and managed to figure out the exact place to send Dobby to rescue them? Maybe he had already been told where they were and only checked the mirror to confirm. But if that’s the case who told him? I’ve got a guess!
At the end of it all he pretended to try to stop them and die as a coward so that the kids would keep on the path.
He had sacrificed everything, even his friends, his human life and any chance he once had of being seen as anything but a coward all to save the wizarding and Muggle world from the scourge of Voldemort and the death eaters.

Yes finally someone said it. In the book his facination with Grindelwald seemed to me like a crush from the way I read it. I'll admit I thought he might be a bit bisexual so it wasn't a massive surprise to me when she confirmed it. And most of the persons facts seem to be more movie based rather than book based. As you learn a fair bit about Dumbledores passed in the book.

The reason Ron and Hermione COULD be amazing together is because with conscious effort, they would both drive each other to become more well rounded individuals. Ron gets Hermione to relax and live in the moment and Hermione gets Ron to put more thought into his actions. You see the changes later on in both of them somewhat. Hermione a bit earlier and Ron in the last book. Check out the relationship between INTJ and ENFP as an example of this. Not just speculation but as an INTJ who met the perfect person who not only made me happy but made me want to constantly better myself in order to make her happier every day than she was the last.
I do agree with you but I think Hermione is an ISTJ. INTJs tend to be more arrogant and even though they value rules they don't think they apply to them if it doesn't suit them. Plus they are more sarcastic, filled with dark humor and colder towards people. Another difference is that INTJs manage to be creative in some ways, while the same cannot be said for ISTJs or Hermione really. Finally Snake is an INTJ, Voldemort is an INTJ and I don't think Hermione has the same personality type as them. No offense is meant for the INTJs though, just sharing facts here and to be honest I am one myself so...
