Hi Dorothy, I chose this way because I liked the repeat of the pattern horizontal. However you can have the repeat going vertical as well, it's whatever you prefer. :)
Hi Mary Ann, we have a free pattern in a medium size only, but you adjust the pattern to make it larger. Here's an article on how to do that: www.onlinefabricstore.net/makersmill/three-pattern-grading-methods/ You can find the pattern here: www.onlinefabricstore.net/makersmill/how-to-make-a-high-low-tunic/
Yes, any knit fabric would work with this tunic. Challis (what I used), cotton jersey, and any other blends that are typical for blouses and t-shirts would work.
mommamerri We only offer a size medium for the pattern but my suggestion would be to take your measurements (if you have a tape measure) and add the additional inches to medium pattern. The bust on this pattern is tight even for the medium size so it probably would be best to add extra in the bust and take in if needed.

love this tutorial, please do some more like it. Great for beginners at sewing.
Thanks. Your sewing tips are excellent. Regards Robyn
Thank you!
Curious: why did you lay out so that the pattern would emphasize body width, vs. lengthening look? It is a beautiful print.

Do you have any tunic kits for large size women?
