Just naming a few things that could go terribly wrong when opening Li ion batteries:
Plated Lithium metal on the electrodes reacting violently with oxygen in the air, causing the electrolyte to catch fire.
Heavy metal poisoning from Cobalt, gives terrible skin rashes etc.
Hydrofluoric acid HF forming on the cathode which is a really really nasty acid (not so much because of its acidity as its reactivity with your bones and tissue).
I would at least wear Nitrile Gloves!!!!!!

There is no lithium metal present here. The cathode is a lithium metal (cobalt/nickel/manganese) oxide and the anode is graphite, also no metals but just metal ions are present. Both are coated on aluminium or copper respectively.

Lithium plating is quite common in batteries that have been pushed at hard power, and at a low SOC.
I think you'll be nominated for a darwin award very soon with how very precise and meticulous you are. Also the safety standards for this is amazing.

Never do that without gloves and protectives masks, batteries contains toxic and corrosive materials (very little lithium actually, a battery like this has like 0.25 gram of lithium, and it's in Carbonate form, not pure metal. But it has a lot of other shits, solvents and chemical materials.

This battery had to be absolutely 100% with zero charge. If cutting open a Lithium battery with charge in it, there would be sparks and flames. The chemicals in the Lithium battery are very toxic. I would not be handling the inside parts with bare skin hands. I would be wearing a face shield, chemical resistant gloves, and a safety mask.
Don't you worry, where he comes from, there is plenty of fingers like his to replace. Infact, they have a huge modern factory already to build human parts so no need for SAFETY FIRST.

Ok, the blade situation bugged the heck outta me. Its called a SNAP BLADE for a reason. You only have a little bit of the blade out at a time. When that is dull, you simply SNAP it to get a fresh blade.
