    I told my husband,if we ever go back to Gatlinburg, I want to stay in a hotel on the main strip.Mainly because I did not like driving up the mountain three or four times a day every day to get to our cabin.

      It makes a lot of difference! While we enjoy the cabins, we don’t like the constant drive, and the hunt for a parking spot. There are several hotels with an easy walk to the strip and varying price ranges. Very convenient, especially for those of us who like to go to the strip often.

    Great vid! We always stay at the Parkway Hampton because of the creekside balconies and the perfect location for us. We too like walking the strip at night, so being close is awesome. My first trip was in Oct. 1979, we go 2-3 times per year. Some of the places we stayed years ago are long gone, I've stayed at many motels but since '15 it has been PH. We're ready to go back, haven't been since Nov...

    If you love Crocketts, you will enjoy Cumberland Jacks too. We did a video covering their menu recently. Glad you guys were able to enjoy time in Gatlinburg! God Bless!

      Thanks, we always enjoy our trips to the area….the well planned ones as well as the last minute ones like this. And we did go to Cumberland Jacks for dinner during our stay. Agreed, we loved it!

    I watched all the videos of this vacation. You and your wife are like tour guides- Thank you! We've just set up our trip there, using your suggestions. We managed to avoid the "Lucy" 🙂

    Doing some research for a fall trip. I’m considering a cabin for my first trip but I will keep this in mind as I research. Thank you!

      Happy to help! A cabin is definitely the way to go if it works in the budget!

    Our family visits ever year in March. We stay at the sleep in. Its affordable, nice staff, indoor pool and walking distance to most attractions. I'll check out where you stayed, looks nice also. I like the idea of pulling into a hotel and all of us walking everywhere, I love Gatlinburg always a treat to visit.

      Hi Mary, glad you liked the review. The best thing about this place was being able to simply leave our car in the parking lot and walk everywhere.

    I stay at the Heritage Inn because of the price. Its a place to sleep and shower. I don't drive 11 hours to lay up in a motel room anyway.

    Pretty much dittoes here, except we like to stay up at the Old Creek Lodge....very similar situation with the balcony overlooking the creek. A couple years back we stayed in a cabin near Wears Valley. Sure, it was nice and certainly quiet. However, the 18 minute drive just to get to the intersection of Wears Valley Rd and 441 in Pigeon Forge let along going in to Gatlinburg got old fast. Sadly, the cabin we stayed in was one of the ones that was destroyed in the fires not too long ago. May do that again at some point but overall one can not beat the convenience of being near the heart of Gatlinburg. Yes, it has its tackiness.....but there is something just so Americana about it that appeals so much.....few things finer than sitting out there with a Fannie Farkles footlong or sausage dog and soaking up the atmosphere.....like being at a Fall Carnival !!

      @kafadventurestx  Рік тому

      Completely agree Brian. Cabins are a great way to vacation, but if you frequently go into Gatlinburg, the drive gets old, and so does hunting for a parking space.

      We love Old Creek Lodge as well. Lovev the room overlooking the creek and we love being able to walk through town. I 3specially like being able to walk the strip early in the morning before anything is opened except a few breakfast places and if course The Donut Friar. And only a 2 mile walk through the park to the visitor center

      The footage of that cabin was filmed in July 2020 when we stayed there. We rented it through Chalet Village. I don't think it's available as a rental anymore.
