South Dakota class isn't post Naval treaty, they're still 35k tonners, which is why they're considered the pound for pound kings of WWII. They actually displace very slightly less than the North Carolina class battleships, and they're design was finalized in 1937 with the ships being ordered in 1938. The big advantages of the South Dak's was that they were designed with the escalator clause in mind (16 inch guns instead of 14 inch guns like North Carolina was originally designed and partially built for), and that they'd had time to see some of the problems the North Carolina's had with their prop's while they were on their shakedown cruise and avoided the resonance issues that would cause they're predecessor's so many troubles.

All I will say is this, Alabama earned me my only spotlight on Jingles' channel, and was the same battle where I got my only Solo Warrior (with the help of my friend in his Grau)

Always enjoyed my Alabama.
I picked that up several Summers ago, during the WG "Summer Mystery Bundle Sale". Essentially, I purchased Alabama at the usual price, and got two more "mystery ships" of the same tier, for next to dirt. The mystery crates yielded me Lenin, and Prinz Eugen...for less than the cost of one. If I recall, they also offered tier 6 and 7 mystery bundles as well. Wish they'd bring this sale back for this Summer.
Nah perfect premium was the 750k free xp mighty mo. It was free and printed credits and reminds me of when this game was still a lot of fun instead of something i play a few games as a force of habit after work.
Agreed the free xp ships were nice but didn’t result in people paying to convert XP as much so the greedy Russians pulled it.
Yeah... Missouri WAS the perfect premie..... but Alabama is available as it was.
I agree. I got OG Mighty Mo and still sure as hell prints greenies. And it was pulled exactly for that reason. Ridiculous amount of creds it prints

The "bama" was my 1st premium when it came out. I've since picked up other premiums but it's still a big favorite.
I love the Alabama. My second premium BB way back in the day and she has served me well. I especially like the gun accuracy. She just gets it done. Nothing fancy.
Agreed! Fantastic ship with top performance all around. She is one of the few, which can be uptiered without having bigger issues.
Spent the night on the Alabama with cub scouts 20yrs ago....great to tour.
Bought it the weekend it was introduced and still play it regularly.
And it excels in with every build. Full zombie, full AA, full guns and even full secondary works.
In zombie mode, it's one of the toughest ships in the game and capable of slugging it out with t10s, which prints the credits.
Invincible ship in the right hands.
Got this ship as I once lived near her and have been to see her. BB’s are crazy up close and I’d recommend a visit!! Hell, more win % here for me than Massachusetts or NC. Great ship that feels like its own thing!
The Mighty A was a museum ship that I visited quite often. My sons and I crawled all around her when they were very little. They still talk about seeing her. I don't have her yet. I should fix that.

USS Alabama was my first premium ship which I got from a super container from normal pay during the day thus it was the best ship because it was free!
First, as in you've had more than 1? I've been playing this game since 2015.....never had a ship in a super container!😢
@@bhutchisonbh You must be really unlucky. I had 10+ premium ships from super containers from the daily crates since I been playing on and off since closed beta. Got the Malta last week, which I probably won't use at all unless they bring back asymmetric.

I had all three American Tier Three BB's form the Alabama, Massachusetts, and North Carolina. Not to be the contrarian but I always found the Alabama to be less survivable than the North Carolina. My good games in the Alabama were so beta and up to 2018. I finally sold the Alabama for credits earlier this year and I don't really miss her at all. Of the three the only one I have and play frequently is the Massachusetts.
If WG will put a huge discount like when I got AL Littorio, I will get her.
I don't see a point in getting Alabama when Massachusetts is not completely unobtainable, especially when I have the NC already, so Massachusetts with secondary build sounds more fun than a tougher NC.
I have both and prefer Alabama personally. Much better main guns and ASW.
Watching that sub chase you down. I wish we could opt out of games with subs. Carriers too. IMHO, WoWS is most fun as a surface ship to ship combat game.
Then go play a WW1 themed game. CVs have been in the game since the beginning and subs arnt going anywhere. You’ll never be able to opt out. Deal with it or uninstall. No one cares.

There were several global changes in the game that affected Alabama, CV rework being a negative and the size decrease of the American battleship dispersion ellipse and the improvement to American battleship heal being positives. I also remember that originally Alabama had a 1.8 sigma. Don't know when it was increased to 1.9. Alabama used to be a literal no-fly zone; CVs would avoid you like crazy. Also had great torpedo protection. Very tanky ship. Haven't played her in a long time. I need to take her out.
If i didnt have the Mass, i would have picked this up. But the mass is so much fun !!!
Question for anyone with the HMS Incomparable (Steel ship)- are you having sound issues with the main guns? I just picked one up and can not hear the main guns, though I can hear secondaries/AA guns going off. Curious if it is a known issue or something with my client.

nice film and great BB but really hard to land shots at distance with the dispersion. only averaging 20% or so of shells in all games.. am I missing a trick? don't see any upgrades to improve it

Nice Vid SLM, Speaking of tier VIII BB's. WG Please please please can we have a 10km ASW planes on the Massachusetts. It's 5km airstrike range just doesn't cut it anymore. Tier V BB's get 8km range, except for my Giulio Cesare with has 4km (Please sort that out while you are at it as well). That's right tier V ships have 3km more range than a tier VIII BB

Alabama sigma should be better than NC but hey logic in this game is not a deciding factor. Ahh yes i recall the Alabama she was one of the first premiums i got back in the day. Like you said SLM her maneuverability and hard hitting guns are a benefit. I wish they would buff her secondaries since Mass (which i have) is not available anymore, i mean every ship (BB) in the last couple of years has better secondaries than the Mighty A. I would recommend touring her if you have not yet, excellent ship and God bless those who served on her.
Won her in a WG livestream, cant really complain, her guns are a bit frustrating, but overall a great ship :V
And that's why I love her, But I didn't get her..... I bought the Florida instead. OH WELL, time to save up a few more YEARS worth of Dubloons and I shall Acquire her, eventually. The Alabama and the Massachusetts are certainly Unique, they basically a Smaller NCs with their own unique perks. Massa is a LEGONDARY Secondary BEAST and the Alabama has 50% torp protection. But they also have their own, better Armor Scheme then the NC.

Bought the Alabama just because its my home state ship and i have visited her in person, in the game its just a way too old ship for the current meta, worth playing outside of random battles though.

I got an Alabamser myself but I dont like her. Just like alot of USN BB's, the shells are way too slow and floaty.
The perfect ship is the schlieffen with Missouri credit economy and the armor of a kremlin. 😂
Well, it's probably good (sadly I don't have it), but if you'd ask me, I'd say kearsarge is much better, the citadel is good, and 12 mk6 plus the tiny tims that can kill and spot, just be careful of the hanger, it's a farm for those who know how to hit.
The tiny Tims has been nerfed though.

Alabama my beloved, i take it to ranked and rank up in 2 days . People say Massa is better but i feel like alabama is much better, mainly bc Massa players dont know what angling is.
Very good ship for a beginner to learn basic BB gameplay and to grind credits and commanders. However I would not recommend Alabama to any veteran players because there is really nothing that special about it.
IMHO it is ATAGO the oldest premium is still the best 😌

Massa all the way Bama just doesn't compare the amount of dumb shit you can get away with in a Massa do to its heal and secondaries is staggering sure you can only really get on black friday nowadays but if you want a tough as old boots brawling tier 8 american bb get the Massa you will never regret it

I wouldn't say it's perfect, i will say that in the right hands it is damn near invincible. But for me and the way i play the game i much prefer the massey line, Georgia in particular is my favorite ship in the game and i average 185k in randoms with it.
maybe you could have won if the Wisconsin and Alaska didnt use the entire game fleeing!
If I want the gun performance, I'll take the North Carolina. If I want more tanky and secondaries, I'll take the Massachusettes. I don't see the point of this one.
At some point veteran content creators of wows lost their minds and decided to "save repairs for the next fire/flood" and let full double fires run through instead of repairing them.
Brother, if you eat a full duration double fire that's the same as using the repair early and then getting stuck with... a double fire. You just ate the consequence with no benefit.
It’s all fun and games until you put out two fires to have 3 set on your ship

@@xPureNRG007x Gorizia is a very good comfortable cruiser for tier VII, she can do anything. She’s tanky, has a smoke + hydro combination (6 km hydro at that), a decent reload for SAP 203’s, good range if you want to kite. Overall good cruiser. In my replay I put every one of those attributes to the test in a ranked match and do close to 110k damage
RECENTLY premiums have been coming with a gimmick? RECENTLY? Only if recently goes back to TIRPITZ, when it came with torps!! WG has been trying to sell premiums with gimmicks since the game began, or doesn't anyone remember that KITAKAZE was issued with 40 torp launchers all the way back to OPEN BETA!! Come on, Mountbatten, your name isn't JINGLES, so you shouldn't be making this kind of a mistake.

@@sealordmountbatten And you are certainly entitled to that opinion; however, mine is different. How many BBs have torps in game? 3 that I know of right off the top of my head (Tirp, Gnies, and Scharn). How many more had them at one time in their lives in the real world? Or on paper before they were built or the plans shelved? And this isn't even going into other gimmicks that WG has removed from individual ships or from the game entirely because the gimmick pissed players off so bad they left the game. Thinking of stealth firing and the original torpedo rework when DDs were castrated. So ... yeah, BB torps, in my opinion, is a gimmick; and also in my opinion, WG has been selling us gimmicks since day one. Yubari, which you could BUY to get into closed beta, had an AA suite that was devastating, and advertised as such, and was absolutely gutted in the CV rework. Blys, the Polish DD, was advertised as being able to stealth fire. I think you missed the bullseye on this one, amigo!
