    Dany's a riff master! All of their songs are riff-driven and when Ale also plays the riff it really hits hard.

      58 here. Aside from Muse -- a totally different type of three-piece in many regards -- The Warning is the best rock trio I have come across since way back in the day with Rory Gallagher and his band, which mostly played live as a three-piece. I can't get enough of these young ladies!

    They grew to hate working on this song because it changed so much in the creative process. They started referring to it as "Ugh" and that stuck as they couldn't think of a better title for it. The song is fast and it's a workout to perform live, especially at 7300 feet above sea level, which were the conditions of this performance.

    Ugh is one of my favorites, I have about 40… but it hits all the elements just right! I’m an old, retired drummer and I can’t help geeking out over their compositions, their performances, their artistry, their power and their fierceness! They bring back to me what I loved about the 70’s and 80’s rock, and then some of the 90’s grunge.

    Also worth taking into consideration is the facts that, this was the first live performance of this new album in its entirety and this is in Mexico City at 1.5 miles of altitude, which is killer on the breathing.

    This was a very hard song for them to finish, they wanted to drop it entirely but their father insisted they return and finish it, and they would often go "Ugh" whenever they had to go back to it, which is why it got the title Ugh. They also said that two other songs came out of writing this, "The One" and "The Sacrifice" were both created from parts of this song and are two of my favorites on this album.

    Their song writing prowess was evident even when they were preteens (at least Pau and Ale were) when they were assigned by their instructor to write/compose a song every week that eventually became their first EP "Escape the Mind". They haven't written a bad song since. Love these girls. Thanks for the reaction!

    If your doing the full QOTMS in order, your in for one hell of a ride. TWA will breakdown what each song means, as the story is unfolded. the fact they wrote such an impressive themed concept LP at such an early age is mind blowing enough, but then to see Dany act it out with raw emotions, as she slips into character could send you to the shrinks couch. This LP rates up there with QR's Operation Mindcrime. I can't wait to follow along with your journey! 🤘 (go back and listen to track #2 Crimson Queen next!)

    That beautiful manson guitar goes together with Dany like strawberries go with cream , they were made for each other !Regarding this song , it was a real problem song to compose ,their father insisted that they go back and finish it , hence the name Ugh , but an important song because two more songs were born out of this , The one , and The sacrifice . Cheers man.

    Great reaction! You do need to go back and react to "Crimson Queen", the song that first introduces our protagonist. You're right, they do have magic. Pau calls it "sibling magic". They have tons of talent and an amazing work ethic. One thing: People had done all sorts of things with Alejandra's name (including calling her Al), but AJ is a first! I don't know where you saw that, but she generally goes by Ale (not like the beer, though I've hear her called that, too, but two syllables, like Alejandra without the "jandra").

And Sinister Smiles Acoustic version. They don't like to use tracks but they do if it adds to the song. Most of their songs don't use backing tracks because they only use the 3 instruments in the song in the recording of it. They want the live sound to be as close to the recording of the song as possible and they have had problems with backing tracks .

  • @NoSmokingDogs
    @NoSmokingDogs Рік тому +11

    You talk in English as fast as Pau speaks in Spanish, LOL. Nice observations, particularly on the guitar parts. They do use backing tracks on some songs, like Crimson Queen, the previous song on the album. What I can't pick out because I'm not a musician and have terrible sound processing in my brain is what parts are tracked in a particular song, like this one or the next song coming up. OK, that's an easy one, there's a piano on a backing track. You'll see.

    • @Beldvlmnt
      @Beldvlmnt  Рік тому +4

      Toss me a link where you suspect it with a guitar or something and I'll see if I can point it out. Some tracks naturally come with a kind of "noise", or if I can see what she's playing vs what I'm hearing I might be able to pick it out!
      For those reading - my opinion on tracks is they are a perfect tool to top up a show. If the tracks die or quit, can the song still be performed? If yes, then perfect. If no, then re-evaluate.
      But tracks are really hard to be able to pull off, so if they do use them in any capacity I think it speaks to their level of professionalism. The track cant take human ques, or change to fix something. Its gonna run no matter what and not every band can keep up!

    Hello Jesse! Like your vlog/channel. Very good comments and I will talk about The Warning group which is a great girl power trio. I discovered them around three months ago and since then, I'm so hooked, their music is addicted. Also great lyrics, always with a message which is great. I really enjoy their music for three things, great sound, meaning instrumentation. Great lyrics, with deep messages. Great performances!!! So much energy.
    Don't know if you knew that their father Luis is a Sound Engineer from Monterrey, he supervises the whole spectrum of the group, the real sound engineer is Lalo Plaza, he has a huge resume’ with projects in Mexico.
    Quick story on Lalo, he said in a documentary in Spanish which is great to be bilingual (sorry guys), he said that when he first saw the band, he paused and said to himself, ho! little girls, this will take a lot of work but to his surprised which blew his mind, on the first session he thought that it was going to take a long time to set up each of them equipment, the girls were all set, all their instruments were already set up and tuned and told him, ok, we are ready! The rest is history.
    I follow music bands a lot, the problem is that either the sound, or the lyrics, or the videos for that matter, makes no sense! and that's the truth.

    Go-Day Mate!
