Yes sir ...but it is when patient already had prior infective endocarditis...for that case there no need to have MVP. even in patient without any underlying heart condition who had prior IE, we have to give prophylaxis when going for any procedure which requires it.MVP without any prior IE there is no need for prophylaxis.
Hi Doc but there is no way to know if endocarditis triggered MVP or MVP led to endocarditis . That is the first line of treatment of MVP in this edition and appears shocking first time but had to be highlighted .
