😂 yes another one to add to the list!! I’ve had to start writing mine down because my head is too full of ideas and plans and it’s all getting too much!! 🤯🤪😂🥰
Oh thank you so much for the inspiration for the knit fabric, I think that sounds like a great idea. I worry it will be a tricky fabric to work with though! Yes will definitely put the length back in the jumpsuit bodice next time luckily I can get away with sitting down because it’s elastic, but it’s not ideal!! 😊
Your fabrics are all gorgeous, I can see why you were tempted. The Avenir looks lovely on you, I love this pattern I’ve already made two and can see more in my future, I’ve also thought about making separates. came to Birmingham yesterday to the rag market, the silk store and Barry’s, there was only two stalls in the outside, the lady in Barry’s said Tuesdays and Saturdays there are more. We still managed to get some lovely bits though, we loved Barry’s, the ladies were so lovely and friendly.
Ah pleased you had a good day, it’s a shame there wasn’t more open outside the rag market though! Pleased you got some good fabrics though! I look forward to hopefully seeing the haul on Instagram? xx
What a lovely fabric haul ! I’m sad. I missed out on the sale, but it probably was just as well! 🙃 And the jumpsuit looks really nice on you! I’ve been eyeing that jumpsuit pattern for awhile and haven’t purchased it yet. I too often go back-and-forth with wearing jumpsuits versus just wearing separates that mirror a jumpsuit style. The color looks great on you too!
Ah thank you so much! I think that I am probably more a separates wearer than jumpsuit but am going to try again with the avenir as it looks so good on everyone else I need to try it again! 😂🥰
Love the avenir Sarah! Lovely fabrics from fabric godmother too. They do have more unusual fabrics and ive bought some cotton lawn in the sale, so see what its like when it comes.
I think that denim could make a great pinafore dress! Your fabrics are lovely. I recently cut and sewed a bit of power mesh to line a lounge bra (under construction!). My tips so far: make sure your rotary cutter blade is sharp; send confident vibes to the machine while sewing (I think power mesh can smell fear). Happy sewing!
😂 that has made me laugh, yes I often talk to my machines, we work as a team, usually it’s successful, sometimes they hear some choice words! 🫣😂. Thanks for the tips and happy sewing to you too!! 🥰
Think your Avenir looks great I’m the same made my first one and not 100% on it got to wear it and see think the leopard print one will look fab. Great fabric haul 🥰💕🥰💕
The jumpsuit does look good on you but I think I would be forever pulling the top about 😊 I have made a Zadie and really love it, so might be worth looking at as it has a crossover tie front to highlight the waist x
Hi Sarah! The last fabric you showed would make a beautiful knit dress, which are so on trend at the moment. Just line the bodice with a cotton voile and keep the cotton voile at knee length. The knit can be a midi-length. A pretty ribbon of the same color could finish the sleeves and hem of the dress. Just a thought! I think the jumpsuit does suit you. What about adding a straw-inspired type of belt and chunky bracelets? WHEN you make another on, you will want to lengthen the back. You need that room when sitting down in a jumpsuit. Thanks for sharing your haul. I didn't even allow myself to look at the sale. Lucky you!
Thank you so much for your incredibly helpful comment! I’m going to look into lining part of the dress, I’m still nervous about hemming though, but will UA-cam using ribbon to hem!! Thank you. I also have added some more room in the back rise of the avenir for my next attempt as well as lengthening the bodice!! 🥰
Hi Sarah, love your videos! I’m hoping you can point me in the right direction, was it you I saw had made a t shirt dress with a channel around the waist and drawstring. Think it was a while ago but I just can’t find it again. I know i should have written it down at the time 😊 thank you
Ah thank you! I’ve had to scratch my head a little about this one - perhaps it wasn’t me?! 😂. The three garments I’ve made with drawstring were the Tabitha T shirt dress by Tilly and the Buttons ( I can’t remember whether I’ve mentioned it in a vlog though), the tie waist blouse by puff and pencil and the Fibremood Frikka sweatshirt!! Quite a few people have made the Tabitha t shirt dress from the make it simple book, it’s a great pattern! xx
I've not made an avenir jumpsuit 😊. I've made the zadie though. The avenir looks fab on you. I need to unsubscribe from pound fabrics, they keep putting gorgeous fabrics on 😮
I think I may end up caving in and trying the Zadie!! It’s all the bias binding which puts me off. I’m proof that unsubscribing doesn’t mean you won’t buy any more fabric 🫣😂. It does slow the buying down tho! 🥰
What size did you make in the Avenir jumpsuit? I’m going to make one but procrastinating as always. Does it come up oversized or about right? Yours does look very nice and fits you well. I personally quite like the top blousoning over a bit. Lovely fabrics. I completely missed the fabric godmother sale 😊
Sorry!! I need to check which size I made as I printed the pattern ages ago and I haven’t made a note of it!! Looking at the pattern pieces I have cut on the third line from smallest which I think is the medium according to the instructions I have. I thought it was medium before I looked at the pattern pieces. According to the pattern size chart, I should be a large in my measurements. I have now cut out another one without shortening the bodice so I’m looking forward to seeing how that one works out. This is a long way of saying it looks like I cut the size down from my measurements and it’s fine!! Hope that helps!! Happy sewing. 🧵 ❤️
I think you have indeed shortened the top too much. I also think a thinner elastic would be more elegant. I don't think this is the kind of jumpsuit you could wear for more dressier affairs but it's perfect for casual wear.
Yes thank you, I definitely agree I need to make another one with the suggested thinner elastic and the normal length bodice as drafted. Hopefully this will fix the problems!!
The jumpsuit looks fabulous and suits you so well. Really nice.
Ah thank you!! 🤩
You have so many lovely fabrics Sarah and the jumpsuit really suits you, maybe a nice belt on it ❤
Fabulous haul! Can’t wait to see them made up, such great plans as always ❤😊
😘
Absolutely stunning fabrics as always and now I think I need to make the avenir!!
😂 yes another one to add to the list!! I’ve had to start writing mine down because my head is too full of ideas and plans and it’s all getting too much!! 🤯🤪😂🥰

Ah thank you, I hope you’re pleased with the lawn, I do like their fabrics so can’t resist their sales 🫣😂

I absolutely love the jumpsuit on u!
Ah thank you!! ☺️
That jumpsuit looks great on you!
Ah thank you!!! ☺️
I urge you to try again with the jump suit. Lengthen the top. It is the most comfortable thing to wear.
😂 I love this comment and because of this have cut another one out today! 🥰😂
Think your Avenir looks great I’m the same made my first one and not 100% on it got to wear it and see think the leopard print one will look fab. Great fabric haul 🥰💕🥰💕
Ah thanks Heather, yes I think I need to get used to it, it’s a different style for me. 🥰

Ah thank you!! Yes have looked at the zadie and may have to give it a go I think!!

Looks like you're all set! I'm looking forward to seeing the completed dress and new Avenir! @@sewsarahstyle
xXX👍👍👍
I am making an avenir at the moment. Just got to put the sleeve elastic in and hem the bottom 🤩
Ooh looking forward to seeing that! 🥰
@@sewsarahstyle I will be wearing it today, so will get some photos 🤩
