- Here’s our experience of flying with Tui on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner from London Gatwick north terminal to Melbourne Florida, on the way coast. We opted for extra leg room so take a look at what this looks like! I’ll show you the plane, what the service was like, the food and of course take off and landing. I've flied twice with this aircraft tui dreamliner from Glasgow to mallorca and I throughly enjoyed the flight it was huge and relaxing and I loved flying on this plane. Its a fabulous plane very comfortable, I will always fly on the dreamliner I love it.
And the screens to watch movies or listen to music is magical even the staff are great. I give the service and the staff a 10 stars

Are all flights from Gatwick to Florida with TUI on the 787 Dreamliner.
@@nestface4705 you’d have to check the other airlines but I know Norse flies from LGW to Florida. We sometimes fly Virgin from heathrow to florida

I dont know if Jamie or a poster has mentioned it but I suspect there may be another reason for TUI moving from Sanford to Melbourne Airports that may have played its part in the decision. TUI UK also operate Marella Cruises, these were due to operate 7 day cruises from Port Canaveral which is just north of Melbourne. Covid delayed those but they are starting next year.. For those who dont know, the Marella fleet consists of refurbished to UK preferences, ex Royal Caribbean and Celebrity ships, all are about 1800 passengers so would use six 787 aircraft return flights. You need a strategically close airport to deal with that turnover of passengers from a cruise ship. I may be wrong or it has been mentioned elsewhere, if so I apologise.
It is true - I’m actually going on one of those said cruises.
Me and my boyfriend are going to Orlando via Melbourne in 15 days!! So excited! 😊 been a couple years since we’ve been able to fly on the Dreamliner so can’t wait!

I live here in Melbourne Beach. Some of the best beaches in the entire US. Recommend the Kennedy Space Center. SpaceX has several Falcon 9 launches a month. Sometimes 1 per week. Also dont miss Gatorland in Kissimmee, FL. Great value and you get to see the real Florida, not the commercial Disney tourist junk.

@@MegaHowtoMan we’ve already bought our tickets for Gatorland and the space centre the other day! Definitely want to see more of proper Florida/ USA as it’s both our first time there! We were going to have a day near the space coast beaches too! 😊 we’re not bothering with Disney. Only going to the universal parks & I-drive! Thank you for the tips!

Thanks for such a great video. I am planning my first solo trip next year at the tender age of 56. I have been many times before but not since 2005, so a lot will of changed. The airport reminds me very much of Sanford. I am debating Premium or extra legroom. Sadly I am deaf so extra space seats are not available to me because of that reason. The food hooded good and I spy cheese and crackers and tea in cups, a rarity on flights now. Really looking forward to flying with them now ✈️😀

Just wanted to note to everyone that these seats are EXTRA SPACE and not EXTRA LEGROOM. There is a difference if you are looking to book them.

loved this , happened to stumble on it on UA-cam ,me and my son fly to Dom rep in August first time on 787 , I noticed the earphones, did tui charge for them or would ones from home fit in the sockets , the plane looks amazing and loved the review

Prefer the A330 seat configuration with also slightly wider seat than the 787. Its also rather noisy in the cabin due to the air conditioning pacs. Its certainly a downgrade from 30 years ago flying to Orlando as all charter flights are. Nice video and highlights, how much do they charge for drinks on these flights btw?
There’s no charge for drinks on long haul (unless you have bubbly)

I live in Melbourne Florida and saw this huge jet on final approach. I was like WTF is a 787 doing here in our beach town! This led me to your videos. It would be great to fly to England this summer NONSTOP! Which airport would you recommend to fly to in England? Newcastle or GTW?
It was us visiting and waving at you! 😂 I’d personally do London although I suppose it depends on what you’d like to see / do?
Depends where you want to go in England. Newcastle to London is around a 6 hour drive. For tourism, I would recommend London.
Okay depends on where you want to go
Gatwick is central nearest to London
Standsted is costal east
Manchester is northan
Birmingham is middle of everything
Bristol is good for the costal aspect of the south my advice take Birmingham and go from there
The shopping and the worlds biggest primark
And then you can train it to almost anywhere
For tourism I would recommend Manchester as The north west is great to visit and if you like the Beatles Liverpool has everything you would want to see !!
I think TUI have also started flying direct from Melbourne to Glasgow in Scotland (in case that's also an option you want to consider). Obviously not as much to sight see in Glasgow itself as London, but opens up sightseeing around the rest of Scotland.

Great vid! Looking to fly to Jamaica with tui and get the extra space seats. What’s the food like? And with the complimentary drinks, do they limit or can you order as you wish? Do they come round often?
Hopefully you saw the food on the vlog: standard plane food but actually tastier than what we had on Virgin. Drinks not limited and they’ll happily give you double as they pass by! They came around enough for our liking

It spans the taxi way connecting the terminal to pier 6 which has stands for 11 aircraft

Thanks for the fantastit flight review Jamie 🤩 The Dreamliner looks like a great aircraft, and the upcharge for extra legroom is very reasonable! Bit odd about the lack of WiFi option, but thats not necessarily a deal breaker 😊
How would you rate the food (as far as airline food goes)? It looks pretty good 😊
Maffoo missed having wifi but I was fine without! Food actually tasted ok tbh! It was better than what we had on Virgin for sure!

How long was the Orlando transfer?
@@MarinaAndJoeGo from Melbourne about 1h20 - the airport experience is much quicker than MCO but longer transfer. Swings and roundabouts!

@@jonesyokc if was easy - quiet, swift, efficient, 10 planes landing in total that day, no overlaps, basic meal / drink provided for free at the airport and wonderfully friendly staff.
do you know if the seats behind had lift out tables too please?
They were normal seats and so normal pull down tray from the back of our seat

This was a package deal with Tui so transfers were included! We were going to do a Lyft but it isn’t cheap (anywhere from $120-160 when we looked). It may be that you can book a transfer with tui or try Mears?
Did u take or notice people with the cabin cases? I know some Uk airlines have started charging and only allow backpacks? 😊
It’s one case up to 23kg in the hold and one in the cabin up to 10kg and with maximum dimensions of 55x40x20cm

Not any more. If you have any dietary requirements you need to let the airline know in advance or you’ll probably end up with chicken 👀

those extra leg space seats are awful, like being n a coffin blocked in at the sides. done it once to LA, never again. more leg room, restricted sides. not for me
