I will be doing this shortly and think from the videos out there that doing it WITHOUT the loader on will make things simpler. Also, while there really looks like little coolant was lost, there is a technique where you use a vacuum to hold the fluid in while removing the plug. I have used that when changing a valve on a gas water heater and oil filter canisters and shut offs on heating oil tanks in homes.
Could you please tell me what size port that was. I am trying to find out what port size the B2301 has.. some say 1" some say 1 1/4" . I would have thought that it would be metric.
Not sure if this is even needed since there really was very little coolant lost when you did the swap. On water heaters or oil tanks when changing parts and not able to drain them, you can attach a shop vac to an outlet port and create enough of a vacuum to hold the liquid while replacing the part.
When You Where Tring To Break The Freeze Plug Lose It Would Have Been Easier To Use A Impact. And Then attach A Long Extension To Get It The Rest Of The Way Out Instead Of Both Your Hands. Not Having Both Hands In There You Can Also See Better.

I attempted to remove the freeze plug on my B7800…no luck. PB Blaster, breaker bar and finally my impact gun.
