BOUGHT THIS in Nawlinz, during Jazz & Heritage 88, $12 from Goldmine Collectors' Vault Shack, Gretna, La along Airline Highway. Spent a whole day in the roadside barn full of oldies; had roun 50 different Johnny Mathises, B.Benton's, Dinah s, some Clyde McPhatters on Merc as well etc. Doubt the store exists any longer, had nth to do w the GM magazi ne tabloid thru which the serious collectors used to socialize, pre-internet. Nice bb session w excellent arrs ; haven t pulled this in decades ..now I don t have to ...very tasty, not blasting it all out 2 loud - as many of the remaining bbs used to aroun 70; such as Clarke-Boland, Maynard F, B.Rich or Jones-Lewis etc. A very cozy, inward-contemplating a production on Ray s own lbl. Don t remember seeing the credits on lp gatefold, so progress now. No Fathead nor Crawford ? Curtis Peagler used to back JEANNIE & JIMMY CHEATHAM up on Conc, late 80s; saw em @ Northsea 87. Lucky me ..
