My turtles started living with fishes ! They don’t attack them ! 😁
thats why i have a 3 years old common goldfish
My turtles lived with fish for a while but then they randomly started to eat them.

I know you probably don't/have already heard this, but please do not use those feeder minnows or feeder goldfish from big pet stores. I know they're more expensive but mollys/platys and guppies are extremely healthier, and you have less of a risk, recently I had two turtles, one I had for about 3 years, and one for a year, I fed them the minnows just fine many times, then I guess there was something wrong with a dozen or so I had purchased, both turtles passed after eating just a few fish, one left half eaten fish around which was also odd, just be careful, I'd hate to see anything happen to your turtle.
Turtle Loving Guy that’s a common misconception, they’re just more bone than meat, so people assume they’re filled with parasites, most parasites cannot transfer from fish to reptile. Minnows are just harder to digest them meatier fish. Unless you overfeed (handfeed like 10 minnows) there shouldn’t be anything wrong.
@@Ubraxos It's still odd my turtles randomly died, and they don't take care of these fish at all, most pets stores don't, leaving dead fish and feces all over the tank, either way that doesn't seem like it would be a healthy choice for feeder fish.

So I've been recently obsessed with fish, I have zebra danios and a beta and I've always wanted a turtle! I'm going back to college soon and they don't allow pets😭 but as soon as I'm able, I'm getting a turtle because you and Sheldon have inspired me!

Ik this video is 4yrs ago but I have two turtles that will literally race and push each other just to get the food whenever I come by they always splash the water while looking at me saying “FEED ME” I can’t wait to feed them LIVE meal worms and minnows etc

I have a turtle named Gonzo in a 20 gallon tank shared with about 35 or 40 black and rosey red minnows to entertain him for weeks
I saved 20 Rosey Red Minnows from Petsmart from this exact unfortunate and sad situation where they're on purposely put in to die. Mine are in a 55 gallon peaceful community and are absolutely happy, healthy, and know they're safe to the very point they had babies!
It's pathetic fish like minnows and goldfish are intentionally labeled and used as "feeders" but no other fish at the pet store are... why because they aren't as "pretty" and don't have super bright flashy colors?!?!

I bought 2 feeder minnows today to try and give to my yellow belly slider to eat, and he can’t catch em! So now they’re just coexisting in the tank 😭
Make a terranium for your turtle, usually turtles need some land and some specific lighting to make them happy

If they are to be eaten...then why are u acclimating them...
It is really harsh to give a chance to live...and then offer them as food to your turtle...
Be careful, minnows have fairly cyanide levels in them, which is bad for turtles.

I just recently did the same thing. My musk turtle (same size as yours) ate all 6 in 2 days. Im curious if they could potentially over eat. What do you think? Im a fairly new turtle owner
Christian Witte turtle will eat until they hurt their stomach, but most of the time, they know when they are full, so they’ll stop chasing the fish when they know that they don’t need the food, but if it’s pellets, and the pellets don’t exactly swim away, they will definitely overeat.

I keep yellow bellied sliders and love giving them minnows! Right now I have about a dozen minnows in my tank and am thinking about grabbing my 10 gallon tank from my husband's grandma's house and keeping some of the minnows as pets. They're actually kind of cute.
