  • The Brig O' Doon is a medieval-era bridge which features prominently in the last verse of "Tam O' Shanter" by Robert Burns. The bridge is located near Alloway in South Ayrshire in Scotland and crosses the River Doon. The nearby old Alloway Kirk was the scene for the witches' dance in the same poem.

The Doon place name tells us the river was named the Don - a goddess - this is probably significant in terms of the subsequent folk tales which inspired Burns to write Tam o' Shanter ua-cam.com/video/ReBupZuiGFM/v-deo.html
