Listening to the modern masters is a gem. I wish there was more of this on UA-cam and less trying to sell me gear though affiliate links.

I bought the class..really enjoyed it. More of a philosophy of photography. She has had several cameras, Nkon, Canon, Hasselblad, etc.

Now she has a whole bunch of assistants that take care of the technical aspects ;)

The photographer David Bailey who became world famous in the 1960's for his fashion photography was notably paid up to three thousand pounds sterling for 1 photograph. That was when a house might cost 8 thousand pounds. Later in life he said there was no secret to it. His method and thinking were simple: he would bring the model into the studio and simply shoot off about a couple of hundred images in varying lighting and, as he said,"Film is cheap, and there has to three good pics amongst them." That, by the way, is NOT a joke.

True, he was always white background 'machine gun' photographer. But others also took this approach of shooting a lot of film using a motor drive, notably Peter Lindbergh but he was far more creative than Bailey thank goodness.

Bailey was a photographer trained in the RAF, he was totally at home with the process. Self deprecation is attractive to women, and he loves women.

Spray and pray that’s called. The model needs to be excellent at what she does and I’m sure Bailey at least forecast his lighting plan beforehand or had some idea being a pro.

Right.. She use a Hasselblad, its a $ 48 000.00 camera, and pretty much anything else comes around, there you have the answer

She switched to Nikon actually a few years ago and most modern photoshoots she is doing (like the one in the video) is Nikon D610. The point is that the camera isn’t important, the photographer is :)

I think she uses both. Could be wrong though

She switches between Nikon D810 and D610, Canon 6D (M1), and a Hasselblad for her work. But that is apsolutely not important, the philosophy behind her work is!
We don’t ask a painter what set of brushes they used to paint an image, and we shouldn’t be asking that question about photographers!
You can truly take captivating images with any camera, even an iPhone.
Check out Mango Street’s video “Good photographers use a bad camera vs noob uses Canon 5D Mark VI” its one of the best videos I watched regarding this topic! :)

@@jaiskreno I think good photographers will also switch to an old cameras for special affects. I think most camera manufacturers have the latest technology inside, so I guess it comes down to eye of the photographer

How this woman hasn't been found out yet amazes me. Talk about the emperor's new clothes. It doesn't take much to turn up in a limo and push a button on a scene that's already been set up by a team of set designers and lighting technicians.

Every famous photography scoffs at amateurs' asking what camera they use and insist the camera is not important, but they never shoot on crappy cameras, they all use Hasselblad, Leica or Nikon, wankers.
