    I am thankful for your video and the one telling how excellent OSTER CUSTOMER Service is was a Genuine relief I am so grateful to hear of a company that will stand behind Defects! Because that’s wonderful

      So glad you like my videos. Thanks for watching! ☺ Since posting these vids however, Oster has made some changes. You can no longer purchase individual parts for any of their appliances and getting through to their customer service has become difficult. It's unfortunate. Although I still own my 2 Oster blenders, I rarely use them as I don't want something to break or wear out that cannot be replaced. Vitamix now makes a blender container made of stainless steel so I've gone back to using it.

      I just bought the one that has the food processor and also I bought the glass jar one because of your video showing that problem. So both are Pros. I think the parts will interchange so I’ll use one base until it fails. and then I’ll have a separate base and I bought these for my RV because I like having one base and two appliances saves space. I have a Blentec at home that I use for my blending needs it makes all kinds of smoothies and it makes all kinds of nut butters I have the attachments and it’s real real nice. and I use a blend Teck it’s outstanding I’ve had it for 15 years they replace parts and warranty and they are terrific customer service At Blentec.

      @@kathyfann Vitamix too has outstanding customer service. I only stopped using mine 5+ years ago due to the plastic container. I've had the stainless one now for a year and a half and love it! Our smoothies stay cold while blending and clean up is a breeze. No more ugly, cloudy container. 🙂

    Thank you for demonstrating the veggie blending capabilities of this Oster blender. This will be the one I purchase for now until I get a Vitamix. For rendering the juice though, I used a strainer for a bit and then discovered that cheesecloth worked better for me. Thank you again for taking the time to make this video.

      Glad my video was helpful. :) Green juice can be made in any blender regardless of speed/power. It just needs to be strained afterward. I used to own a Vitamix but sold it after a few years because I disliked the plastic blending container. Thanks for watching! :)

    Great example of how to use a blender as a juicer. I've also had a ninja 1500 but any time the drive gear is rubber to metal you're going to get drive failure in a short amount of time as the metal shreds the rubber to nothing. That's where the burning h shrieking comes from. My ninja was too big too expensive too clumsy to clean and burned out within one yr. I love my Oster 1200 blender. Was inexpensive makes great smoothies and one minute clean up! I make frozen berry smoothies for breakfast with almond milk unsweetened and pinch of stevia and half tsp coconut oil. I stopped using spinach in my other smoothies due to the huge oxalate levels which can cause unbearable pain kidney stones! I ended up in hospital over that! Other green leafy stuff can give you all that oxygenated roughage and less expensive too. I bought my son the Oster 1200 also it's wonderful!

    • @helpfulnatural
      @helpfulnatural  6 років тому

      I love this blender too! My sister-in-law has a Ninja and claims to love it but 6 months into owning it, the blender jar cracked when blending something hot. It also doesn't blend as smoothly as the Oster since all the blades are not at the bottom of jar but rather vertically in the center. It reminds me of a tall food processor. I use spinach occasionally and use kale most often in our smoothies. When I make juice in the blender, which is only occasionally, I use spinach as kale has a stronger, less pleasant flavor when raw. I haven't had any issues with the oxalate load but keep it in mind so we don't have too much of it. I love spinach so I don't want to eliminate it altogether. I also love to add organic English cucumbers to our smoothies. Thanks for watching! :)

    How is your blender holding up? I have been considering getting this blender, thank you for making such well rounded videos

    • @helpfulnatural
      @helpfulnatural  6 років тому +1

      It's holding up very well. I love this blender! I've been very happy with everything I can do with it. If you decide to buy it there is one issue you should be aware of. More than a year ago, Oster ran out of replacement gaskets. When customers asked about why they've been unavailable, Oster stated that they were redesigning it. As of last week when I checked, their site still did not have any gaskets available for purchase. HOWEVER...... last year I uploaded several videos addressing this issue for those who already own this blender model and were not able to buy a replacement. In the videos I show how I made my own out of a sheet of silicone. (Wilton silicone baking mat). Since making that video, I've only used my DIY gaskets and in my own opinion, they work better than the one that came with the blender and are easier to install and clean. Before you buy this blender, take a look at those videos to help you make a decision on it. Here are the links: ua-cam.com/video/SLZ67bOeaNQ/v-deo.html
      ua-cam.com/video/FHQDX-4UI04/v-deo.html Hope this helps. :) It is a great blender and I'm still hopeful that Oster will get it together and make some gaskets available. It's ridiculous that it has been this long without this important replacement part for their best selling blender. Thanks for watching! :)

    I like your video. Thanks for showing a way to juice veggies and fruits by straining after blending, much easier clean up than using a juicer machine. I'd freeze that bit in the strainer overnight and use it with some Greek yogurt in a smoothie the next day. 👍

    • @helpfulnatural
      @helpfulnatural  5 років тому

      Thanks! Glad you liked the video. I used the leftover pulp in a smoothie the next day, kept it in the fridge overnight. You can do this with any blender model. I used to have an Omega juicer which eventually just sat on a shelf collecting dust. For me a blender is much more versatile! Thanks for watching! :)

    Great review. Thanks.I love juicing but im the same as you. its too much clean up
    Im between buying this one or the Ninja counter top. How does this perform with oranges, apples and carrots?

      @helpfulnatural  4 роки тому

      I do add baby carrots to our smoothies regularly and so far so good on blending them smoothly. I haven't tried making carrot juice but I would imagine you could just add water to the blender with the carrots, then strain out the fibers. Apples work well too and oranges without the peel. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching! :)

    Hello! Thank you for posting this video. Do you know if there is a really small blender jar I can purchase to blend baby food with this blender? Thanes so much!

    • @helpfulnatural
      @helpfulnatural  7 років тому

      You're welcome! Unfortunately there is no jar that will fit the blender blade assembly. The next step down, the Fusion or Dual Action blender by Oster has the standard sized blender base that Mason jars can be used with. They are the same blender but with different housing. The Dual Action model is marketed for sale exclusively at Walmart stores. I have a review of that one too. It's 1000 power watts and 600 continuous blending watts. I have made many things on my Dual Action blender using Mason jars that work out perfectly. Here is my initial review of it, but I have many more. ua-cam.com/video/zXoiTBVCUq0/v-deo.html

    Thanks for your review here -- I also saw your review on amazon! I noticed some of the reviews/comments said the blender gives off a smokey smell. Wondering if these were bad blenders or if they all do this? Do you still love this blender?
    Thanks again!

    • @helpfulnatural
      @helpfulnatural  7 років тому +3

      I have never had that problem with a bad smell of any kind with this blender and yes, I still do love it. I use it every single day making smoothies in the morning and sometimes in the evening for other food preps like making salsa or blending soups, making nut butters, etc... I don't know what the burning odor could be since I haven't experienced this, thank goodness! The motor base has a 10 year warranty if anything goes wrong with it. My dog even loves this blender! He loves to sing along with it when I make smoothies using the smoothie function! :D In fact, while I'm writing this comment, the blender is running in the video and he walked into my office singing away!! LOL! He's quite a character! I have also had very good customer service experiences with the Oster company, if that helps. :) Thanks again for watching!

    i have seen you doing flower and other stuff with the pro 1200 , i was wondering if you think is posible to do power balls or veggy patties with it or i need the food processesor attachement for it or another type of food processesor.
    I am using another food processor and i strugles a bitwith it when i try to do that 2 things.. When i try to do the power balls mix, is quite sticky for the dates and as a result i need to made it in stages and at the end i am able to do it but ends up a little bit annoying to acomplish and when it cames to made the veggy patties mix, i need to do it little by little because is to sticky and too much of a paste food as well to processes all the ingredients. . what do you think ?

    • @helpfulnatural
      @helpfulnatural  7 років тому

      Well, blenders need a vortex to blend efficiently and in order to do this without too much of a struggle or burning out the motor, a blender needs some liquid to keep the food moving through the blades. If your veggie burger mixture includes eggs or some type of similar liquid, you could probably do it, I would use the pulse function. However, you may still need to do it in stages since this model does not come with a tamper to push things down while it's running. As for the power balls, a small food chopper may be better for that. It is typically a thick, sticky mixture that will probably over heat the blender's motor if left to run indefinitely. I do have another video review of my small glass bowl food chopper, (I no longer use my food processor). Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/iT_dBXVP2_4/v-deo.html
      Hope this helps. Thanks for watching! :)

    You should drink all that good fiber instead of straining it out, it lowers the glycemic index of the fruits and the insulin spike from them and aids in gut motility.

    • @helpfulnatural
      @helpfulnatural  7 років тому +5

      Your comment makes me think you didn't listen to the commentary during the video. I explained how I usually make smoothies to KEEP the fiber in my drink. This is simply a demonstration showing that it is possible to make JUICE in this blender. It is also mentioned in the description box that I did NOT waste the pulp from this demo.

    Thank you for your videos! Do you know if this would make juice out of celery and cucumbers?
    I want to make celery and cucumbers juice, nut and coconut butters \milk, flour, and grind dry herbs. And make herbal tinctures (extended blending time of like 15 to 30minutes).
    Like this... m.ua-cam.com/video/zcFG2ckjlPE/v-deo.html
    From watching your videos it seems this blender can do all that, do you agree? It does well with dry ingredients and no liquid? Chickpea flour video seems like it did..
    Is the food processor necessary? Doesn't seem like it is...

      Sorry my replies are so late. For some reason I did not get any notifications of your comments. :( This blender is capable of doing so many things! For chunky soup just use the pulse button and watch to see when it's the texture you are going for. I've never ground coffee in it but I know people have used their blender for this purpose. Make sure the inside of the jar is bone dry first or you'll have coffee paste! :)
