A beautiful piece of equipment.
Getting mine next week...can't wait - Thank you for showing the set-up procedure and the unboxing. Quite a lot of packaging there.
Its a great Turntable Costa, but not as good as the other DJ turntables produced by Technics. The MK7 is built in Malaysia my 1210 was made in Japan. If you're seriously considering buying the New Technics MK7 may I suggest you buy the Premium 1210 MK7 enjoy
Beautiful the new technics 1200mk 7 I'm glad they fix the issue with the pitch control now I'm ready to buy my mk 7 silver I was ready for that color I don't like the black color silver look more dope n fresh I knew they were making the mk 7 on silver I was waiting for them 👍😎🔥🔥🔥 but I still own my mk 2 got it for 36 years still working like a champ n my mk 5 black brand new as my collection n the mk 5 silver brand new as my collection too I hope I be able to rock a party with the new mk 7 I heard they light I guess they will work fine for party if I use vestax n they where light not heavy I was able to rock a party with them still got them too working like a champ 20 years already the vestax pdx a2s mk 2
The legend continue..
yes it does
how do you do put dust cover on?
Hi , I want to know how is the quality of those Cartridge To Headshell Lead Wires on SL-1200MK7 ?
Nice turntable
Thanks I am thoroughly enjoying them.
Thanks I appreciate it. I have been enjoying them
The only complaint I would have about the MK7 is those cheap rca connectors, u think they would have up graded them by now with heavy duty gold plated connectors
What do you expect from a turntable produced in Malaysia. I mean look at the built quality it's no surprise they did what they did. The cheap pop up light , etc. Get a Mark 2 in mint condition and keep on spinning mate
@@jdsofar, and where would you find a mint mk2 from? If you were able to find one, its price would probably be more expensive for now than mk7.
Whether it is made in Malaysia or elsewhere is irrelevant. It is still Panasonic owned factory. Early GRs made in Japan also had their problems so Malaysia is not an argument.
Nice
Hello TECHNICS! I got the SL1200M7L matte black s/n 10344. It's got a defective tonearm mechanism. I got the unit from Gibbys ESM ontario in 3/3/23. I still dont have a replacement nor a refund, it's 4/6/23 already.
Why are you posting here?
Wow those feck mingers at gibbys really got ya huh.... unbelievable mate. .. if that was a mark 2 40 years later it would still be in working order. Such a shame. Did you get it sorted out yet. Hello TECHNCIS!!! Did you fix the Mark 7 s/n 10344??!! You have 48 Hours to respond.
Have they resolved the issue with the dead spot on the pitch and the poor isolation ?
Are these good for mixing over the pioneer plx 1000’s ?
Yes, issue with pitch was solved long time ago with new revision of turntables, ARAIR after november/december 2020. I dont know about isolation coz I'm using those at home only, and yes - they are perfect for mixing like every Technics turntable. About PLX 1000, dunno, sorry ;(
Hey there sorry for the late reply. I have been managing my toy channel mainly. Yes they resolved the dead spot issue on the pitch. I also use this at home only but my first impression with mixing with these tables was just WOW. A freaking mazing. I have used Vestax, Numark, Pioneer, Stanton and even old school Technic 1200's and these table were superb. Sound Quality is loud and crystal clear, the table is extremely responsive, strong torque. The brake speed, torque reverse and even lights are all adjustable. (blue to red). The build quality feels strong and well built but light. It literally feels like what you would hope to feel splurging on a expensive electronic and it just feels and looks steps above the rest. New Iphone vs flip phone lol. Worth every penny. Very well built. Plus I have a pair of brand new Technic 1200's which may never happen again in my life. Thanks for asking and watching. What stuff would you like to see posted?
@@tampa2kdjchannel270 Where did you get these pairs from? Just asking because of my curiosity as I live in the UK and would like to buy a newer (repaired dead spot) version. In addition, which needles (cartridges) do you prefer and is it difficult to put it on? I am new to vinyl players, so don’t know much. Thanks! :)
@@mertk.3386 hey thanks for the comment. I bought these from sweetwater.com at a steep 1000$ a piece. I do not have much experience with different varieties of needles and cartridges. I have used Ortofon Concord pro s needles for 20+ years with no issue, so i never bothered switching. They have worked well for me in terms of mixing, audio quality and the occasional scratching. very occasional lol.
@@DJFAmenHeavy i'm sure they arent the same build quality. As they say they don't make stuff like they used to. But I will say I feel these tables are super well built and work like a dream. I would pit them against a 20+ year old MK2 any day of the week.
Technics SL-1200 MK7 (silver) is the correct term.
Do you know if the chassis is silver painted or if it's bare aluminium?
pure aluminum
@@이기통 Thanks for your answer but I bought a SL1200GR2 since! :)
@@DJSunken nice buy
Hello.... are you satisfied with the build quality? Thanks for the video!
Build quality is amazing. It feels the same way when you open up and feel a brand new 1000$ + phone. They did a great job. They hold their speed, have great torque, light weight but still feel solid. The only thing I do not like because of my OCD is the fact that I can see my finger smudge on the start stop button because of the silver and material it's made of. But that is just part of it lol. All the buttons have a nice feel to them as well, not cheap feeling. Well worth the purchase for what I was looking for.
@@tampa2kdjchannel270 the build quality is shocking what are you talking about.???. they weigh like 4kg
@@Eyeballpaul84 they weigh 9kg
@@tampa2kdjchannel270mate I looked and held one of these. Absolutely no good. Plastic rubbish. These don't do the series justice. My MK2 were serviced instead. No contest
You have to buy the cartridge,
correct?
Yes it came with a headshell but no needle or cartridge
dust cover included or not?
Yes dust covers hard plastic included. They dont attach to unit though they kind of just sit on top
Nothing comes close to a beautiful Mark 2. I dont care if I have to spend 3 grand for one in pristine condition give me that anyway. The built quality is second to none. That being said, the mark 7 is good for home use and if you want a new turntable, but other than that it falls short in every way. Not to mention they are so light now and cant handle vibrations :(
Analog 1200SL vs mk7 - music is the answer..
nice
Their ok, not a mk2, a little close to it in feel. But not a mk2. I was lucky to unbox a brand new pair of 1210s in 2022. I am so happy. I might get a mk7 as a 3rd deck.
I agree nothing will ever top an mk2. The next best thing was these brand new mk7's which do the trick and did a great job of making me feel like I was using my old mk2's. I was very happy with my purchase. The better option would be for me to be able to buy two new mk2's which is not in my future. The plus to these though, is that the cables in the back can be replaced without doing major surgery on the table. So big plus for me.
@@Unknown_Artist2.7182 yeah i heard the grs are great. I had to buy these because the iconic silver. these better be the last tables i ever buy though lol. to much money.
@@Unknown_Artist2.7182 its like a cast aluminum I think. the platters definitely feel heavy duty and well built. I am very happy with them. I have nothing to complain about. I just had a friend over to mix on them who has used technic mk2's that he mixes on alot and he said mine the mk7's feel better. He and I also like that there is no dead spot in the center of the pitch.
@@Unknown_Artist2.7182 enjoy. They are so awesome. What type of music do you mix?
@@Unknown_Artist2.7182 very nice. I am breaks, trance my self mainly stuff from the early 2000's late 90's. I am on mixcloud under the name tampa2k if you wanna check my page out on there
2 these .great .Mixig is siperb.
Only defaut, cover dust, not possibility to fix on turntable...
My new mk7 50th has bad resonance issues, I sent them back. My Reloop 7000's sound so much better. So disapointed..... You are going to pay $500 more for the name and substandard sound. So Sad
Mk7 una skifezza unica
Toccato con mano..
Materiale plastica
Risparmio e ti fanno pagare una cifra assurda
Preferì MK2 robusti resistenti
Sorry, WTF? Mixing Numark? All You need is........ Pioneer or Denon friend
to each his own. I personally think all brands have there strengths and weaknesses. I myself have very much enjoyed Technics over other brands. Thanks for the comment and input :)
Making a video about a turntable without even knowing how to install a counterweight!
