Do DET cans work if your road tuning ?? Also would you see the puff of smoke if the car had a Full CAT system ??

Yes they do work great. Use them a lot road mapping.
Yeah you would still see that puff of smoke 👍

Also the dead give away with knock was high load, Low rpm conditions when it will most likely happen.

@@HeidiFegles Most common point for det seems to be 5600rpm on EJ engines. This example was earlier though 👍

@@racedynamix this is good to know. from a tuners perspective. Pretty close to where I see knock on stage tunes, like almost all have that mid 5k rpm knock that I’m being asked to remap mainly I take Cobb stage tuned cars and show them the Tactrix way and never look back.

How do you deal with stock ecu and forged piston false knock ?

    • @HeidiFegles

I don’t have any false knock on my car and I run 100mm 2816 forged pistons. I let it warm up. Forged pistons are usually higher compression. What’s your compression ratio. It could be real knock.

First I would want to know whether it is actually false knock..det cans are the only way to tell for sure. False knock is unusual even on forged pistons.
Disregarding any corrections as false without knowing for 100% would be the wrong thing to do imo.
If they are false you can isolate where they are occurring sometimes as they tend to be more transient than full wot but you have to be careful as to not throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
