The Ducati V2 SF is £14k & 20kg lighter as well as subjectively looking better imo. However it realistically isn't 4k better than this but I'd still rather have the Ducati & pay the extra as an ownership experience tbh. I just don't want or need a 150bhp i4 naked but I see it's appeal obviously.
This has to be the best value for money large capacity "naked" available on the market in 2025, not keen on the SP black paint finish but at the price I'd be able to afford a custom paint job !! I look forward to taking a test ride next year.
It is. And it would be a great advantage in the world of family sedans. Not so much as it comes to the bikes. Especially street fighters. So I'm pretty sure that European manufacturers are not in panic right now. Neither is Yamaha.
cost to power ratio is its greatest strength. Somewhat diluted with the SP version. Does look better in red too (imo) Wouldn't dismiss the base out of hand
I think the new V3 will be aimed at the new 890 supersport category. The CBR 600 rr is not competitive at the top level anymore. Yamaha have the new R9 , replacing the R6 and I think Honda will do the same. The V3 layout is very interesting being a triple but much slimmer. Honda used to make V3 triples back in the 80's with their NS 500 grand prix bike and a road version with the NSR400, both of which were 2 strokes.
@@fyorbaneThe V3 is too expensive to use in a supersport, plus it has a electric compressor, the only bike with something similar is the Ninja H2,Honda is most likely putting the V3 in the Fireblade replacement.

It has also got the new generation up/down quickshifter and a revised seat although to me the seat looks the same.
