On his first CD he sang this song and started with the chorus when he sang it. He offered hardly any emotion. I loved that CD but not that song. This song should be sung with all the emotion a singer can get. This new version is perfect and he is perfect.

Yes, I think that little by little he is learning to excite, because it is not all about having a clear, beautiful and powerful voice.

His emotional expession is not yet at a point of or near perfection. Obviously, that has to do with the non existing piano singing. Simply put, he sings like he's built.... di Stefano is one to learn from how to express emotions through singing.

Basic interpretation, very little light and shade and no real emotion. Listen to Tino Rossi's recording of this from the '50s and there's no comparison. Rossi has all the subtlety, intimacy, articulation, phrasing and beauty of tone that this guy lacks.

@@UlexXane you're comparing a pop light tenor with an operatic voice - If you can't hear the difference, you don't have the ears for it...

@@ricardosantos6925 Maybe you didn't notice; the music in question here is a Neapolitan song, NOT opera. Tino Rossi's voice and style is far more appropriate in this music than de Tommaso's ham-fisted effort in singing it as though it's 'Nessun Dorma'.

@@UlexXane It's a Neapolitan song not a child's lullaby . If I want someone to whisper I'll ask my cat.
