What other manufacturers use 'X' headlights for their Adv? The Triple Black is not the base model, the white one is. The auto preload works on the front as well as the rear, so it's better than the HD, Ducati & Triumph solutions. The 719 doesn't just get gold accents, it gets more premium paint and a number of machined parts.
Why is the audio in this video so quiet? I cannot hear what you two are saying without blasting the volume. You guys need to research how to properly export videos for UA-cam.
So, first unladen weight on BMWs has always been wet weight, or as they say on the specs road ready, fully fueled. There will be many off-road enthusiasts that will be disappointed that it does not have a 21" front wheel option as does most the competition. I am confused by what you call a trend in using headlights in a X pattern. Looking at the other Adventure bikes, maybe the African Twin and calling the KTM 1290 Adventure headlight an X pattern is stretching it, more of an H pattern. One slight correction is the base model is the Light White not the Triple Black Package ($975.00 option). Style Option 719 (Green) looks really nice, but it automatically gets the Premium Package a $3195.00 option. As we have seen in the past most GSs found at the dealer will have that package anyway. Overall, about a $2000.00 increase over the current offering.
I'm disappointed its not fully liquid cool. That would definitely get them more hp, 160+. Maybe they are reserving that for the M1300GS. Also I would have liked to see automatic valve adjusters on such a pricey bike. BMW should be able to do everything HD can do and better.
A lot of people are hating on the new headlight but people will warm up to it. Everyone said the same thing about the KTM "Alien" headlight and the Harley Pan America "Whale Shark" headlight. No one complains about them now.
You literally cannot read or watch a review of any KTM rod bike without them apologizing for how bad it looks. Time has not helped at all. Their ugliness has created the business model for Husqvarna to exist.
Having owned an 2005GS and a 2014GS personally, NEVER buy a first year, or even a 2nd year (2014,) newly designed BMW model. Or buy the extended warranty and hope doesn't leave you stranded.
Like with any new platform and engine, the first or second year, all the buyers will be beta testers as to whether this engine and transmission perform reliably. However, this Engine is going to pull like a mule with all that Torque. ‼️‼️
People keep complaining about headlights. We have the same exact design on our Macan. It’s ability to light up corners is amazing plus it looks great at night. This is function over form, but I love the look.
I own and ride a HD pan am special and the fact that the GS has the adaptive ride height is great im a larger size of dude and can comfortably ride the pan am almost flat footing definitely will be checking out the new GS but I still love my pan am just a little to much RN thanks for the info
I do not think people rushing to trade out their current boxer GS, for two reasons. The outgoing models were already very good, and secondly, the new, incoming, model is a totally different design, fantastic on paper, yet still to be proven in the real world. Prices will dictate a lot, also.
not even one image of the tail lights! Ridiculous. I feel they totally screwed head/tail lights. just horrible.
Taillights are the same as an S1000RR or S1000R for the most part. Nothing crazy new.

“Fuel capacity is exactly the same size”? Spec sheet on BMW Motarrad website says “useable tank capacity” is 19 litres vs 20 litres for the 1250.
Can you find out if it has backlit controls on the handlebars?

It looks ugly,the best GS was actually the R1200
The tank is smaller than on the R1250GS, 5.0 vs 5.3 gallons. That leads to about 15 miles less range assuming both bikes get the same MPG....
This bike has better mpg

This may get me to retire my 1150GS finally. I'll see how the first model year does before jumping in.

Hydr lifters are not that reliable and some power loss
I like all the new safety features, especially the variable height based on speed. I put a deposit down on the 1300. Psyched.
What did they require for a deposit? Any estimate when the bike will arrive? Going to my dealership this week.

The handguards are not that vulnerable on tipover because of engine. The bushwackers will need their radar turned off.

It was very ugly before. Now it’s ok. It’s just a matter of time before people get used to it and move on. Nobody buys it because of its design.

I don't know if I can get behind that single headlight. It looks more like the new vstrom without those offset headlights.

3.5% increase in displacement, 6 percent hp increase and 4 percent increase in tourqe is kinda in the noise. Your not gonna notice it.
