I just bought 2 Volca Samples to play together ti transition from one track to another …this is EXACTLY the inspiration I needed…. Look forward to the next one when you reach 1000 subs ❤❤❤❤
Awesome set yo!! Really enjoyed this killer live jam, very cool to see ya again!! Everything flowed really well and sounded amazing!! Always impressed with what you do, only using a single Volca Sample!!! 😀🐀
Thank you! It's nice to be here again as well! When I was still considering getting a Volca Sample, I already knew that I wanted to make stuff that'll surprise people with what's possible on this little machine. Glad to hear I'm succeeding! :)
Thank you! In this video, the samples are a mixture. Kicks are made by me. Some of the synth sounds are mine as well, mostly made with feedback loops. Then there's a few 909 samples from a pack, and a few synth sounds come from Legowelt's free sample packs as well.
Volca Sample may be quite a limited device, but with some creativity, it can be very surprising with it's capabilities. 😉 I'm glad that you've enjoyed the video and thank you for the subscription!
Love the grooves. I have a Yamaha psre463, a digitech rp200 and a danelectro danecho for effects, and a zoom r8 portastudio to capture, mix and master. I am thinking of a korg volca to pair up with the yamaha keys, and the volca sample seems best to me. On a budget and just getting started, any equipment input welcome.
You can get a ton of mileage from the Volca Sample, since you can always load new sounds into it, when you're bored with the old ones. I think it's the best one out of the volca line up, since it can serve many roles. If you think it's the right choice for you and your setup, I'd say go for it.
Thanks! In my opinion, Sample is the most versatile of the Volca family. It offers a lot of possibilities, depending on the loaded samples and the way you wanna use it. I'm glad you've enjoyed the video!
I like how you're totally into the rhythm and the flow, can't see your head but I'm 100 positive you bounce it around like crazy lol. Imma become a 154th sub, nice set, nice energy, well done sir, keep em coming! (and the shirt, too!)
Yeah, I can get *really* into music, haha. Should be a telltale sign, as my hands are flapping wildly in every direction. As for the shirt - you gotta break out the good one for a special occasion. :) Thank you for the kind words and for subscribing, I appreciate that!
*I change to another tab but leave the video in the background* *Music gets too awesome* *I remember I was looking at a Volca Sample video and go back just to see it's actually still coming from a Volca Sample*
@@kinetic-cybernetic I know about it, but I've decided to check it out whenever I'll burn out on the original firmware. It's been a year and the ideas still keep flowing in, so I guess it has to wait a bit more. ;)
@@asteriks_hardcore You don't need any external gear for transfering samples. In first gen of Volca Sample, you'd use an audio cable that comes with it. With Volca Sample 2, you transfer samples with an USB-A cable, which is not included as far as I remember, but the cables are so common that you'll most likely have one laying around. 🙂
Technicaly, it would be possible, but it'd be quite difficult. There's only 16 patterns and they're quite short (16 steps), so variation and structure would be harder to achieve.
@@babynito It all depends on what you're looking for. It's difficult to find a piece of gear that's powerful and budget friendly. You could look into Koala Sampler. It's an app, but it's quite powerful and flexible. It's constantly updated and I made tons of music with it, I wouldn't made otherwise. It's going to be cheaper than a piece of gear and give you a lot of flexibility. ;)
Thank you so much! I've actually considered making a video about my workflow on the Volca Sample. I'll probably get to recording it soon, although it'll most likely come out after a few months, due to lots of other projects piling up already.
Sounds like either a faulty unit or a joke. I never had issues with my Volcas and I never heard anybody having them overheat and get blocked. Sometimes I do even longer sessions and the little box handles it with no issues. :)
I heard about the possibility to overwrite the firmware to get some more features or so. But it maybe can lead to malfunctions, bugs or cause damage to your volca sample.
One acid sound was found on the web, in a TB-303 sample pack. The other one was crafted in Synth1. The trick to the cool modulation on the vSample was to use the samples with a long sustained note and a filtersweep. Then the start point knob acts like a filter cutoff.
This set is also available for download on my bandcamp page:

when you get back home from that 1st job interview in your button down shirt (not ironed) and just have to throw some techno down.
I like how you specified that the shirt is not ironed. 😅

Thanks, glad you've enjoyed the set! Hope you'll have a lot of fun with your Volca too!
The Sample 2 is a beast. Ugly but awesome. When you learn to tweak individual steps it's amazing...
