In this video, we look at how water moves through the roots of a plant. First we look at how root hair cells are adapted for the maximum rate of absorption of water and mineral ions. We then explore how water moves through the cortex via the symplast and apoplast pathways. Finally, we look at how water moves through the endodermis, including the roles of the Casparian Strip and Root Pressure.

Did it for my AS last year! Took me a while to get this topic but you explained it so well! Glad everyone doing their AS this year has this video.
your actually the best, geinuley, there is people like me who reads from textbooks and it makes no sense, and when we see your face with the exact topic we are struggling just brings the most happiness ever.

thank you sir, because of you i've gotten grades 8-9.
Super video as usual
Banging vid mate
Thank you
thank you
amazing
Thank you for the video. Can't find
Hi, will you ever do Physics A-level videos or will it only be Chemistry and Biology? Thanks.
He said he cant do a level physics because he hasnt taught it
2:54 i don’t get this! Water moves across the cortex by osmosis? Osmosis is the movement of water from high to low water potential through a partially permeable membrane. If movement is done by symplast then there will be no osmosis as there’s no cell membrane to cross as the protoplasts are interlinked by plasmodesmata. In apoplast movement of water occurs via diffusion. So what’s the deal with this?😭
Oops i was accidentally watching an A-level video???
Hi Sir, Can you do A-level physics please?
He said he cant because he hasn't ever taught a level physics
🐐🐐🐐
Is there anyone else who starts bobbing their head to his intro 😅😅
A level physics soon?
He said he cant because he hasnt taught it b4
