Just want to let you know why the last "Into the Unknown" was how it was - Maria Lucia Heiberg Rosenberg (Danish Elsa) is pregnant right now and that's probably why it wasn't supported well :C
History of Polish Dubbing that’s very possible. Singing pregnant is pretty challenging, I’ve performed pregnant on multiple occasions. It can be easier or harder depending on how far along you are and WHAT you’re singing.
Serene Parker that’s true, I just don’t understand why they gave her the hardest line (IMO) of the entire song, she would’ve killed some of the easier parts :/ But I know that sometimes it is possible to sing even high notes while pregnant - for example Kasia Łaska (Polish Elsa - she sad the second of the internetionals at the Oscars) performed all of the Frozen songs live with an orchestra while pregnant. But performing at oscars was probably really stressful for Maria so it probably summed up
@@SereneSinging she also plays Elphaba from Wicked just like Idina (and also Willemijn, the german Elsa). you should check out her version of "Defying Gravity" and also many of her other covers, she's absolutely amazing even though she didn't nail that note! :)
The Last International Elsa is the Danish one, Maria Lucia Heiberg Rosenberg. While it may seem a rough sound live, it is a part of the danish culture to create those sounds. And if you listen to her versions of "Into the Unknown" and "Show Yourself", they sound so much healthier than the American versions, and are placed to perfection. Take a listen if you can! "Ud I Ukendt Land" & "Kom Nu Frem"
If I'm not wrong they only rehearsed 3 times and they were told about the Oscars the week before. It must be quite stressful to perform for the first time in the Oscars , Maria Lucia (her version is one of my favorites) is even pregnant and they gave her the most difficult part personally a like her voice cracks , in the studio version she doesn't do the first crack but she does the second. I'm quite proud of Gisela the Spanish Elsa she's the first spanish singer to perform in the Oscars and I love her version of "Into the Unknown" (Mucho más Allá) I would love you to react to her version.
Why is no one giving Lisa Stokke (the norwegain Elsa) any love?? She was smiling and so happy to be there, and she sounded amazing! Can we give her some love, pls, thank you.
Frozen 2 was dubbed in 45 languages around the world. 9 of those languages are represented here (Japanese, Polish, Thai, Castilian Spanish, German, Russian, Norwegian, Latin American Spanish, and Danish). The source material for all these Frozen films is Norwegian, so I'm glad they included it here.
Just think about what would've been if ALL elsas where there XD (I mean it's kinda impossible... There isn't enough space and the German and Dutch version have the same singer Soooo...)
@@fernandoprieto6981 She does both and they probably went with German, cause it's more popular and more known than Dutch. I'm butthurt still, Dutch is far prettier :(
Danish is probably the hardest language to master on that stage and I can guarantee you that a Danish vocal coach would say that she did great and she is actually one of those that got the best responses. It may be down to (even tho that you're a professional) that you don't know how Danish really sounds.
When I first saw this video, I also felt Maria Rosenberg wasn’t nail it, but after I heard it again, she NAIL IT!! I thought the type of voice is like that, with the state she was pregnant with, it was incredible she could reach the note. Then I was curious and watched the Danish version of "into the unknown” more her video she sang live. and, OMG! now I know why she was given the most difficult part. She is great Singer guys!!! That is The reason!
Second "Into the unknown" did Russian singer Anna Buturlina)) 🇷🇺❤️ Maybe you can do reaction on Russian version of this song "Вновь за горизонт"?) Thank you for this video, this is so interesting))
All the comments are about making excuses for Maria Lucia, but it just went the way it went. It wasn’t her best last note. They shouldn’t have given this part to her for this performance. She’s amazing I love her voice, but it’s sad for her she couldn’t deliver it they way she normally would. Love this video! You’re really keeping it positive and you also explain a lot about the techniques. 👏🏼

I wanted to say that I really appreciate your analysis- I studied classical voice and opera so I try to just not analyze things too much- but I couldn’t help it with Indina’s performance. I know she has struggled with vocal nodes among other “war wounds” of the musical theater world prior to becoming a Disney studio voice. I was also very much appreciative of the choice to incorporate all of the ‘Elsa’s.’ Yet, part of me was curious to see how she would have handled the entire piece herself. I know that Disney has a ‘formula’ with these songs, especially in Frozen. Everyone is waiting for that Eflat & it better not be flat. I have a feeling that they probably auditioned each voice to see who could easily handle the 3rd ‘unknown’ and I read that the Danish girl was pregnant which not only changes breathing but the voice itself- sometimes the voice can become more ‘breathy’ as a result. I heard her voice ‘break’ and she was off key which in her brief solo must have been disappointing, but I doubt many caught it as the performance as a whole was a success. I did want to say that I wonder if the idea to glam the Oscars with this performance was also maybe a decision made because Indina is pretty much a studio singer because of her years of blowing her vocal chords during ‘Wicked.’ I ultimately feel badly for her as her career is at its peak and learning techniques to change her sound is not an option. I wonder if she knew she couldn’t handle the entire piece with the pressure of the Oscars. She has not performed this piece very much, live, so I do wonder how much support ( vocally) that she had. Sometimes they play a track in the background for the high notes and they can time it just right for Indina to pull the mic away and she doesn’t have to push as hard to hit the note- if that makes sense. Again, I tend to get a little too analytical and apologize for those who just thought it was amazing- which it was. But I do wonder, at her age, which in opera she would be in her prime at 48, if she can handle these notes and the compensation that she does with her technique & vowel sound manipulation, which alter the tone, timbre and ultimately pitch. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of her tone. I appreciate her years of work and what she went through to get where she is, but that pinched sound and belting high notes is probably not sustainable. I will say that Kristen Bell truly has a lovely tone, dynamics and musicality. She’s not a ‘powerhouse’ like Indina but It’s lovely to hear. I initially thought that the Danish Elsa was either tired or maybe she over practice and her cords were just tired because of that, but I read in a comment under another video that that's just the way that she always sings. So I don't really know what to make of it. I did indeed notice that she's pregnant though.
She's like PREGNANT. As in really pregnant. And on top of that, reeeally jetlagged and they didn't really get to rehearse it much. I feel like it seemed like there was a lot off with the tech as well, as though you could tell they had a hard time hearing each other and stuff?
For me, the third into the unknown is easy and I can do it even on bad vocal days but for some reason, half of the time the first and second one are difficult for me. Sometimes they’re good, sometimes they’re bad. I suppose it’s cause it’s going from singing to belting really quickly or something like that
the person that is singing with idina when she does that last note is Carmen sarahi she is a mexican singer , she is really Amazing ( elsa from latin america) and after the performance idina asked who did that last note you are talking about and the other elsa's said that she was carmen sarahi
Definitely agree with you! And when Idina was too far ahead I was telling her to slow down too. I love your voice! Music saved my life in high school. I sang with a group in Vermont. We traveled around the state. I was just lucky to be in that group. Now, I'm in my late 40s. I'm a pediatric home health nurse so I kind of feel like Mary Poppins singing Disney songs to my patients. I've never had a vocal coach, but always had dreams of doing The Voice....but I'm no Alisan Porter 🤣. I should probably just stick to karaoke.
That is so awesome that you sing to your patients! I used to sing to all the kids I would babysit. The moms loved it! I'm teaching someone via skype right not who's also in their 40's and really wanting to hone their craft and maybe do some auditions for local theatre. Never too late to do what you LOVE!
Please keep going. Yes you are not Alison but let's face it... You may not be the next Alison Porter but you are the first Melissa Mason in the industry (well I based it on your UA-cam name) 🤗 ua-cam.com/video/W4husjY8ZwM/v-deo.html
Maria Lucia (the one in the farest left in the purple dress) aka the last solo part is normally very amazing, but i agree slightly with her part. i think if she sang the song live fully in Danish i think it could be better :) Id love to request a reaction of her full part if you can of into the unknown xD Its called "Ud i ukendt land" in Danish though :) She is usually in musicals.
The cracking was intentional, I think it was used to make the song more scandinavian, because it is used in many old nordic folk songs. Unfortunatly the crack wasn't controlled in this version.
OMG you're like one of the most authentic reactor out there and you're really funny, I was laughing so hard watching you, I can tell you're a real vocal coach! The comment section doesn't appreciate you enough! Subscribed. P/s: I love her dress too ;)
Yes, Aurora is wearing sneakers. :) I keep thinking that Aurora could have easily hit the high note with all the volume and strength needed. She certainly hits those notes in her concerts. But she had something more ethereal to do. :D Have you seen the GMA segment where they talk about how unexpected the invitation was and how quickly it all had to come together. ua-cam.com/video/S4GwSDtq-kQ/v-deo.html
It's such a shame the Brazilian Elsa wasnt there as well! Brazil is SUCH A BIG audience for Disney and we still get neglected like EVERYTIME. Frozen 2 only aired here on JANUARY! COMMON?! But yeah, the Brazilian Elsa ROCKS
I’m always disappointed when someone doesn’t do the last duet harmony (just before “where are you going...”) properly, especially on the fourth time they sing ah-ah-ah, Elsa’s part is not always clear and melts into Aurora’s highest harmony line (does this make sense?)
The other Elsas were, in order of appearance: Takako Matsu (Japan), Katarzyna Łaska (Poland), Gam Wichayanee (Thailand), Gisela (Spain), Willemijn Verkaik (Germany), Lisa Stokke (Norway), Anna Buturlina (Russia), Carmen Sarahí (Latin America), Maria Lucia Heiberg Rosenberg (Denmark). She wasn't so bad in the studio version "Ud I Ukendt Land". Pity... 💔

I laughing when you say "Some of the Elsa sound off like there." hahahaha
They said she had mic issues toward the end so she was a bit early
Please react to Maria Lucias version of this song. She is a an amazing singer
Aurora did the super high last notes. :-)
"Lady Idina" I loved this bit lol. Your video is so good!
For me, the third into the unknown is easy and I can do it even on bad vocal days but for some reason, half of the time the first and second one are difficult for me. Sometimes they’re good, sometimes they’re bad. I suppose it’s cause it’s going from singing to belting really quickly or something like that
I kind of like the Elsa who did the third Into the Unknown. I don't know why I just do...
the person that is singing with idina when she does that last note is Carmen sarahi she is a mexican singer , she is really Amazing ( elsa from latin america) and after the performance idina asked who did that last note you are talking about and the other elsa's said that she was carmen sarahi
How tf don’t u have more subscribers? You are really great!
Nobody:
Serene: Is she wearing tennis shoes?
😂😂
Yup. Me thinking “wow she could RUN and SING at the same time!” 🤣
They should've given willemijn the second into the unknown
WO NOCH NIEMAND WAAAAAAAAAAR

I should really do that too...I would love to do that too! How much are lessons?

Melissa Mason you can contact me through my website: SereneVocalStudio.com
Please keep going. Yes you are not Alison but let's face it... You may not be the next Alison Porter but you are the first Melissa Mason in the industry (well I based it on your UA-cam name) 🤗

I think you should hear the Danish until the unknown and hear how she acutaly sing
6:03 Kasia Łaska 🇵🇱♥️🇵🇱
7:13 SHE IS DANNISH I LOVE DANNISH :3🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰
YES THANK GOD I NEEDED THIS
Love it!
The lady you say messed up the 3rd ‘Into the Unknown’ I’m pretty sure she is pregnant, but I think she still sounded incredible 💜🤍💜
It's also performed down a half step from the movie.
To whoever needs to hear this today: For anyone criticizing Idina Menzel, she's Idina Menzel and you're not.
makes no sense. you can still criticize her
@@amara2882 meaning it doesn't matter, she's still way more talented than probably all of us commenting
maria lucia and gam 😍😍😍
Maria Lucia (the one in the farest left in the purple dress) aka the last solo part is normally very amazing, but i agree slightly with her part. i think if she sang the song live fully in Danish i think it could be better :)
Id love to request a reaction of her full part if you can of into the unknown xD Its called "Ud i ukendt land" in Danish though :) She is usually in musicals.
The cracking was intentional, I think it was used to make the song more scandinavian, because it is used in many old nordic folk songs. Unfortunatly the crack wasn't controlled in this version.
The girl from Thai, amazing
Will you react Idina Menzel's Show Yourself live performance?
Really nice reaction!!⚡
I love Gam Wichayanee
OMG you're like one of the most authentic reactor out there and you're really funny, I was laughing so hard watching you, I can tell you're a real vocal coach! The comment section doesn't appreciate you enough! Subscribed.
P/s: I love her dress too ;)
Definitely was Aurora singing that last note in the soprano part.
for sure
You should listen to Portuguese Elsa. Ana Encarnação. You will love that voice.
She wouldn't
Please see INDONESIA IDOL 2020, Lyodra Sing INTO THE UNKNOWN, TOP 7
Don’t hate on Maria!!
6:10 (Gam wichayanee) from Thailand🇹🇭❤️🎶
ILOVE 🇹🇭 Thai land
Actually the Danish Version it’s one of the best, but she was sick at the time of the Oscars.
Always rough when there's sickness involved.
She was pregnant not sick
Please reaction video Speechless by Gam wichayanee Thailand
You forgot about when she said the oh oh she said it 3 times instead of 2
I’m always disappointed when someone doesn’t do the last duet harmony (just before “where are you going...”) properly, especially on the fourth time they sing ah-ah-ah, Elsa’s part is not always clear and melts into Aurora’s highest harmony line (does this make sense?)
Totally makes sense!
Check out my video on AURORA's Part. ua-cam.com/video/zLODfWhxsiU/v-deo.html
Those aren't diamonds, they're crystals.
👏🏼🎉🥰🇹🇭
React to DANISH into the unknown
Also Danish Elsa does those cracks for stylish reason but she was off this time
АННА БУТУРЛИНА!!!😍
The other Elsas were, in order of appearance: Takako Matsu (Japan), Katarzyna Łaska (Poland), Gam Wichayanee (Thailand), Gisela (Spain), Willemijn Verkaik (Germany), Lisa Stokke (Norway), Anna Buturlina (Russia), Carmen Sarahí (Latin America), Maria Lucia Heiberg Rosenberg (Denmark).
She wasn't so bad in the studio version "Ud I Ukendt Land". Pity... 💔
Why is everyone saying marias was bad. I loved hers, it was wonderful. Even with the bump
I think that third Elsa in the chorus I think that it was an intentional break it wasn’t the best but it wasn’t terrible.
As a stylistic choice, it's not my favorite.
The last elsa(maria lucia from Denmark) is actually pregnant if u didnt notice that🤦♂️🤦♂️
Essa é muito difícil de ser reproduzir fora do estúdio, imagina pra cantar ao público misericórdia ,mais em minha opinião elas arrasaram mesmo não ganhando
Id love if you could react to Maria Lucias (Danish) into the unknow even if its studio version, but despite being a little in the strugglezone (the last Elsa) she is actually generally pretty amazing! :)
Would love to hear your thoughts of her actual version. :)
🇹🇭👑❄️
7:08 Carmen Sarahí the latin american Elsa is amazing
fun fact: they actually planned this performance in one week :)
How did it go??
