Very pretty Caroline! I love the quilted fabric. I use to sew years ago I had a lot of fun with it. I used to make dresses for my sister in-law. She loved them so much. When she and her cousin went to Jamaica I made her several outfits. She wore them out 😂😂😂 have a fantastic week ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
“The Creature from the Black Lagoon” 😊 I loved watching you make this project. I have never sewn in my life, but I’m beginning to play with slow stitching, and it’s so much fun.
I think it's time that needle books made a proper come back. I got so fed up fiddling around with those little plastic holders for needles that I stuck all of mine through a piece of felt, but a needle book is a brilliant idea. Every sewing box used to have one. And you can make it as simple or pretty as you please so I am definitely going to give this a go. I have loads of bits of felt and leftover fat quarters. Thanks for the inspiration Caroline! PS. Loving your ironing board! 👍
That turned out great, my daughter made one for me and I’ve had it for years. My daughter was named Carrie Anne after the song Hey Carrie Anne by her dad. Take care of your thumb and yourselves 👏🙏❤️🌻
Oooh oooh oooh, I love this❤❤❤ now I have to find the needle book I had started and finish it 😊 thank you Caroline for the inspiration and for me a reminder of how to make a needle book 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Sitting here using my nebulizer & re Watching your videos ( I hit the play all 😆) and the sunflower one just finished, and an idea popped into my head . Phil should start his own channel too and call it ... DRUM ROLL ..... " IN THE SHED WITH PHIL " !! he could put snippets of your past mudlarking videos of his crafting & all things shed related ( from the old shed to building of the new one & the purchases he made to use in it straight on to all his treasures , etc. ) ! WHY NOT ? WHAT'S ONE MORE CHANNEL ? PHIL'S OWN WORDS ... " THE MORE THE MERRIER ! " I JOIN & WATCH ! ❤❤
Great for around sugar testing time. Just keep a tester kit nearby and you will probably end up drawing blood at just the right moment, as well as many wrong ones lol
If anyone has difficulty sewing then try using hemming web that you place between the materials and iron. While not as strong as traditional sewing it'll do the job. But then you'd probably not need a needle book. 🤣
Hand sewing is always much slower, thinner fabric would be better. Have you tried a patchwork or quilting needle , if your machine has that? I was taught by my mother, though she only let me on her singer sewing machine when I was old enough.😂😂😂
Thank you Annie :) I only had one needle, the same one that I have been using to sew fabric and paper for years, poor thing lol I have just got some new needles, so I am hoping a sharp needle will help :) My granny taught me how to use a machine. She used to make lovely clothes.
I forgot , when we were at school it was a private school run by nuns, and we were taught sewing, or needlework as it was called and I think you are as old as me, I'm 58, and do you remember the old hand driven sewing machine? They were awfull. Nasty , hand eye coordination , no wo der I became a Potter, and playing piano also helped. 😂😂😂😂
You need hand eye coordination, a bit of muscle, not as easy as you think..if , like me you did a bit of chemistry, that comes in if you make your own glazes. If not, plenty of already made glazes. We had to do the history of ceramics, my dissertation was on Chinese pottery, I never finished, because I got ill. I was in Derby, and soooo cold, so I got bronchitis, and I was in and out, so I left. After that I got my own equipment, and was going good, then my parents decided to come to Spain, and that was the end of that cos I got pregnant....but good fun.
I don't think I would handle the chemistry bit! Lol As with most things, it looks so easy when someone else is doing it, but I would probably become an expert in making clay blobs, miniature mountains and 'modern art' 😂@@anniehartley8851
What a great idea! 🪡 🧵 I agree with you that it’s very satisfying to use scraps & small bits for crafts when possible! Hope your thumb is on the mend 🩵

Thank you Susan! You sound like a very proficient seamstress. Fabric is so lovely and just a teenie bit addictive lol

I quite agree :) It's easy to immediately see which needle you want too :) Glad you like my mini ironing board :D
You always have the best gadgets -- I really liked your pizza-wheel fabric cutter!
Thank you! I find it so much faster than a scissors and straighter too :D
That turned out great, my daughter made one for me and I’ve had it for years. My daughter was named Carrie Anne after the song Hey Carrie Anne by her dad. Take care of your thumb and yourselves 👏🙏❤️🌻
Thank you Chris! That's a lovely name : D
How cute & useful. I like the binding, it seems to belong with the fabric.
Thank you Ger :)
Very cute idea, love the colors! Btw, your song Sweet Caroline!
Thank you Carol! Not forgetting your song, 'Oh Carol' :)

@@myhomeonthehillside when he gets free time ... I truly think he'd do very well !
So beautiful 🤩
Thank you Kristina!
Ooh Christmas designs lovely 👍🏻👏🏻🪡🧵📚 good idea to keep offcuts incase it does come up for something else.
Thank you Fae :) I love coming up with ideas for offcuts :)
Love it. Get well soon.
Thank you Donna!
Good idea, I will have to try and make one!
Thank you! I hope you enjoy making one :)
The movie waa called ' the creature from the black lagoon ' .
Ah right, thank you :)
Another good idea is to just glue a little pocket in it for your thimble to sit in !
Brilliant idea Lucinda!
For me hand stitching is mostly like acupuncture. 🤣
😆 🤣 😂

Brilliant idea Ed! If you use web, then instead of a needle book, you could make a web holding book😂

Ah yes, I had a hand cranked machine in my 20's I never did pottery but always fancied trying. It looks like such fun :)
