If there are any devs watching this, there is currently a bug with new Skarner where you don’t initially receive the basic attack speed increase after using Q. This is repeatable every time you use Q and immediately basic attack after. It seems like the attack speed increase is not registering on the first basic attack and it’s coded that the time between the first and second attack is determined by Skarner’s attack speed when the initial first attack is made. The attack speed increase is applying later than the first basic attack so the increased attack speed isn’t applying until after the 2nd attack.
You went from the earliest video to the latest video. Both were skarner. Coincidence????
I think the tank mana item is so good for him. Your whole kit procs it and it has low cooldowns, so the amount of damage you mitigate is insane

So glad that Skarner solo lane isnt just a pull the guy under tower playstyle anymore. He really seems like he'd work top which is where I wanna play him. It'd be nice if you could turn a little more during E
His E is almost a turn on a dime. What do you mean you "want to turn more"? Sion AND Nunu both don't ever get the turn radius that Skarner's E has.

interesting little mechanic that I noticed during your video pekin, if you pick up a rock to hit the tower you get to keep the bonus attack speed from your Q without expending the 3 stacks

As a Taliyah main I can confirm that rock matters a lot and rock is good.

Iceborn is good because you can auto weave and use q3 throw to proc too. A q a w a q3 a. With 30 haste q is back up in 2 sec. So E then repeat combo again immediately. W comes up just in time to weave. Can also engage with q e then combo, just need to wait 3 sec before e so it comes back up immediately.
Tldr weave auto, use q3 throw for sheen.
A consideration. Picking up rock makes Skarner stop moving. If you Q and E into a wall slam. Might be better to toss rock, and pick up rock before they get out of stun. So when they run you don't need to spend the cast time and lose chase distance.

Something I saw -NB3- foggedftw do is that you can use e once your in range and yet control where you start running with your mouse. So you can grab someone from the edge of their hitbox and drag them in the opposite direction without having to turn around. It's kind of like how herald works now.
That also only works if you are very very close to a wall since the range once you touch a champion drops to almost nothing but it's a cool trick none the less.
@@Tooamazin the range doesn't change much. It still starts from where you use the e.
Edit: Actually rewatched it and not sure if it gimps the range or because the specific time I saw it the shaco boxes f'ed it. It was also foggedftw that did it and not NB3.
@@nfzeta128 Nah, watch when the ability is used and how far it goes when nothing is hit, now watch when it hits an enemy even halfway through the range and you'll notice once it touches a person you only move about 1 second longer no matter how much more distance you had left in the charge. It's a balance thing, say you travel 10 units across the entire E without hitting someone, now if you hit them after traveling only 3 units, you will only move ~2 more units with the person and it stops. It's to prevent you from dragging someone for more than 1 second, so if you grab someone point blank you will only travel about 2 units and if you don't hit a wall, no stun and the E is over already.

You can also extend the time you hold the rock by just autoing, as long as you don't use the last (3rd) auto.

One thing I notice that maybe they will add is an explosion at the end of the q I think it will make it much better and kinda makes sense that if you throw a rock it’ll explode.

The tank tear item that shields on a slow is really good for scarner cause everything slows, its also good paired with unending dispair. Shield heal shield heal.

This new rework is like old Skarner, Nunu, Kayn, Sion, and Mundo all in one. I play all of these champions and I'm so excited to try this.
so from what I've noticed so far, is that if you hit three times while holding the rock, he smashes the rock on the enemy, which is why it goes away so fast when hitting minions
You don't have to press Q to get a rock if you're planning on pressing E. His E makes him pull a rock if you hit a wall.

winter's approach(the tear tank item, whatever its called) seems like it'd be great on him since his W gets to be such a low CD, it'd double shield him since it slows, and of course all his other CC as well

When I saw the initial bit of the video I thought iceborn gauntlets would be a good item and it seems like everyone agrees, I feel good about my in game growth

The highlight of the vid to me was Pekin's troubled relationship with Iceborne Gauntlet. I was rooting for Iceborne to win Pekin over eventually.

Yeah, it can get hard for me as well to keep track of the rocks, could be good to add some icon or smth, like when you are frenzy with briar or splitted with yone, or maybe like when you have ult with thamkench (which personally idk why they added that, like you are literally telling the enemy when you have ult but okey, that's a thing for another moment xD)

21:03 It's mainly because he can dodge your ult while you can't dodge his. If he was positioned so that you can e stun in the beginning and ult off that then it's an easy win. This champ very sensitive to enemy positioning it seems.

I've only played Skarner in ARAM where I've gotten him a LOT over the past few years. He was great before, I mean amazing, enough that I would pick him whenever he came up, his rework looks fun and interesting, not upsettis from me ^_^
I really think that shojin will be THE item with this character, you can have it and a sunfire then going for some specific item that may be good on the match or personal choice, but these two plus a jak'sho will turn him into an anomaly; also I saw a interaction he has where he can stack conqueror with the 3 autos because of the Q and the passive, for some reason.. if this is true then he will be very strong with grasp/conqueror in general, making him not just viable as he's now but legit strong on all the roles he can play, well not to be amazed we'll see him dominate bc its a riot rework but he may be as strong or stronger than k'sante with that sort of stuff.
Why not take heartsteel? All his abilities scale with health, so a heartsteel build could outdamage or at least deal nearly as much damage as a bruiser one while being more tanky. Plus he really likes sunfire which also scales with health.

Sad only has ult has Ap scalings. Old Skarner had huge build variety, everything from everfrost lichbane to fulltank, support items, Muramana/Triforce was viable on him
If he scales with health and does long melee range fights, why not heartsteel?
