- I visited one of our long term users of our scrap car dismantling pincers and clamp system for excavators today to see how they have fared over long term use. The pincers in the video were supplied over 5 years ago and although the main jaw would benefit from new bushes they are as straight as the day we made them. The pincers will allow one man to strip a car efficiently saving time and labour.

sometimes I think there is a lot of consumerism ...I see people throw away cars ..that still work... in a junkyard.. by the way if I have a junkyard I recycle a lot of good pieces like front and back lights ,trunks,hoods,wheelcaps,mirrors,engines and gearboxes still in good conditions :)
Why can't they fix the engine and then sell it
I don’t think there’s a market for those parts.....if there was enough interest scrapyards would provide.....don’t forget cars got a lot better in the past decades;you don’t need parts all that often anymore to keep them on the road.
Other factor is simple:if your car lets you down the next 300 Euro car is never far away....on top of that:scrap metal value is very high at the moment;it’s understandable that scrapyards don’t waste any time processing the cars available before the prices drop again!!

Shame that went straight to be processed through, 12 years ago plus that would have been guttered for the rear beam etc. Just shows you now how times of moved on in the car world now. Not worth hanging onto for parting out now sadly, due to the age.

I don't usually see this type of dismantling in the USA. Most of the yards I've been too don't pull the engine or pull wiring out. They just crush the whole car, engine and all components. (Battery and all fluids are all removed first.) It's rare that a good running car just gets thrown away in the US. Most of us in the States run our cars till they are worn out. I've seen some car scrapping videos from other countries, and they crush the car with all fluids in it and the fluids spill all over the ground. That isn't allowed in Texas, the state will shut you down if your caught spilling fluids on the ground. Scrap yards in the US will always be busy with over 50 million vehicles sold per year in the US.
That cooler seemed full of fluid. I wouldu have preferred if all lines where drained first, therwise this is a freaking mess

useless way of stripping cars
Good parts are ripped to pieces, that Transmission could have been used in similar vehicles.
That's how it goes tho. The western world is terrible at repair/reuse and very good at throwing away and buying new.
how do you know ? that may have been the reason the car was scrapped.
Seats, headlights, dash instruments and switches, rear tailgate, mirrors, glass, intake manifold, wiper motor, fuse box, engine head, alternator, etc. Even if the trans and engine were bad, there were still plenty of re-usable bits. Most of these parts go straight to scrap, more than likely lack of demand, but then if the supply isn't there...

Wow this is soo cool. I do the exact same job but with an old ass komatsu pc200. The head doesnt swivel and i have no way of holding the car down to pull the motor. Its a hard skill to learn, but if i had that machine right there omg i could wreak havoc on those cars! Lol but yeah even tho my machine is outdated i still grease it!! 😅
