This scene actually made me hate Robert California. He took advantage of Andy's insecurities by torpedoing any chances that his horrific Daddy, who cruelly played him against his brother since childhood, might actually be proud of him. Perhaps so he could move in and become a sort of twisted father-figure to Andy.
