I personally love this song over Sexodus. I can't really pinpoint the differences of Sexodus and Exodus, but there's something about the sound of this that just pulls me in and gives me a whole other feeling than Sexodus.

The 7th track off from M.I.A’s album Matangi. She sampled The Weeknd’s song “Lonely Star” in this song. M.I.A. gave the song to Madonna for her MDNA album but then she refused it and gave it back to M.I.A.
You guys are talking shit about her as if no one covers other people's music and put it on their album before. She has talent and the fact that she even thought about having my favourite singer's beats in her music makes me love her even more. I am Tamil/Sri-Lankan like her and born in Scarborough like The Weeknd. I must say, it's hard to be famous under both categories, so I don't see anything wrong with what they both did. Let them be!

Much preferred over Sexodus, but both are pretty excellent. This just has more of an eclectic feel, when she goes through the chorus, and not overly 'dancey'.

I came hear because I love the song. Love her album. She wanted this to sound more Cultural. And I think she did a great job. Exodus is my Favourite out of all the songs.
And The Weeknd reproduced Lonely Star. With longtime Collaborator Illangelo, And gave it to M.I.A. He also added his Vocals. He didn't want it to sound Too Similar. He changed it up.
Oh, and M.I.A is actually Speaking the Monologue at the beginning. lol I said. They started from Scratch.

The entire song Lonely Star is just playing throughout the entire track, I don't think that falls under Sampling.
