The cheesy music in the sketch was actually used as a news theme for KOVR 13 in Sacramento for a few months in the late 80s. This KITH sketch is the only other place I've heard it.
They say that his second book wasn't as accessible to the general public, that it required too much thinking. I say if the reader isn't willing to involve their own imagination then they shouldn't be reading anyway.
It was exactly the same with Donna Tartt's sophomore effort, "The Little Friend". Not gimmicky enough. In this instance though, that full sentence in "Spider" really threw the critics at first.

DAVE WHY ARE YOU SO PRETTY
I love how KITH alternated between sensical comedic plots, to whacky to downright bizarre.
this is the best one! i remember laughing so hard i cried!!
Such a simple premise but so funny.
KITH were brilliant. So few appreciate it. They were the next gen on Monty Python....
The ending was stupendous
I like that the title on the cover, or even inside on the title page, doesn't have the same effect as reading it on page one.

God, if only it were that easy.
The cheesy early eighties music is half the genius in this skit.

Of course.
what scares me is how pretty a man could be dressed as woman
aannnd I thought it was a woman
There's a spider on your key board!!!!
If anything, it's '89. So nearly the 90s.
CLASSIC
Why's the book so thick??
Suspense.
@gavrilo2007 It makes me think of Wall Street Week
@eruption257 No, it would be "It Was a Beautiful Day...Then EVIL Came!"
I think someone was smoking a cigarette offstage and it ended up on camera at 1:06
He has a yellow ashtray there: he's the personification of the "troubled writer" LMAO
Damn good eyes!

I own a Honda Civic--with a tape player (from 2002, actually).

@ryfin2000 it's already retro.
