@kalvadenpa It doesn't matter the lyrics or accent, its a tibetan singer living in tibet who've never learned hindi trying to sing an Indian Folk Song. arent you amazed?
I love her singing. I thought at 1st that this was in Mandarin but now I've changed my mind. This doesn't sound quite like mandarin. Well, anyway, whatever language it's in, she sings beautifully & is a beautiful girl. I bought some of her music on itunes under the same gesangmeiduo. I think that's right. That music was in mandarin.
This isn't an Indian folk song, but she was covering a modern Bollywood song "Aankhein Khuli" from the Indian movie "Mohabbatein" (2000)... watch?v=OR7KkuWVZN4 Kelsang Metok has also done cover versions of other Bollywood songs, like "Jimmy Jimmy" (1982) and "You Are My Soniya" (2002). Her Hindi is very good for a non-native speaker.
I understand why she sings most of her songs in Mandarin. She wants to have a real career & make real money. You can't make a living on artistic & cultural purity. The Chinese have the money; therefore she sings mostly in Chinese.
@kalvadenpa ok fine, you know what? no one cares about the lyrics n shits. It's the MUSIC, not the lyrics k, and beside, its for ENTERTAINMENT not to let people judge on how she pronounces every words slash lyrics. its the VOICE .
to lichee107, It was at 49 &, yes, it does sound like they're rapping in English. Weird!!! God, I wish rap would die. I'm so sick of it. I'm white american, my husband's Chinese & I listen to Chinese music all the time. I would be happy to listen to something in English if they'd just make some decent music, but they don't! Well, anyway, I love the music I listen to. Zemma ban?
she has sung it as beautifully as she is herself. This is famous Hindi number from Bollywood.
