The song is called Leaving Himalaya. The singer is a real tibetan. She was singing in chinese. She sung in chinese because this song is for chinese audiences. I have heard some of her tibetan songs too. Tibetan culture was very popular in the mainland china's entertainment industry.
this is so beautifull. I am so glad to see that these kind of people break through and get attention for their own culture and religion in a very beautifull way. Thank you so much for sharing this video! I am totally stunned!
An extraordinarily fascinating, magnificent, charming music. The traditional dressed, attractive Tibetan girl sings really so beautifully, so perfectly!
@Gwynsek tibet was in China more than 400 years, since Qing Dinasty, it's already in China. Tibetans not only live in Tibet, they also live in Sichuan, Guizhou, Ningxia provinces, on the other side, many Han Chinese live in Tibet too.
It doesn't matter who she is or what song is it? We are all human. We live in the same world, same planet. Chinese loves Tibetan and Tibetan loves Chinese. The world should work together...DON'T BE SELFISH GUYS! PEACE! PLEASE PUT PEACE IN YOUR MIND AND DELETE THE VIOLENCE EVERYBODY! THIS SONG IS PERFECT!!!
Great song. I like tibetan music, just like most chinese do. You can search Alan and Han hong, they are great singers, too. Don't be narrow-minded, one world & one family.
It is a human right to be submitted to the religion of their choice and to practice it in their place the same as the right of people who do not want to be tied to any believe.Swasti Srih n suyala
No matter how much the Chinese lies to the world...we the Tibetan people know that we are sided by one common weapon which is our truth. The number, the wealth, the wrong motive of today's China is something that can not be compared to a group of people's single belief in faith, truth, and compassion. We Tibetans realized it long ago, the path to living free in our homeland is a tiring and long but we will overcome China.
Finally, this only video made write so much comments! So many reactions,fights,critics...just for this one...I think the more important is that she's tibetan, and if she sing in chinese, she stay tibetan 4ever in her heart!Anyway, there are a tibetan version of this song,so why not share it too as a proof of tolerance & love between Chinese & Tibetans? But I'm ok when people say that it is not a tibetan song...tibetan singer for a chinese song...the most important thing is: FREE TIBET ! BOD GYALO !
@hyrith This Chinese channel (CCTV?) is promoting, or NOT claiming the copyright for this music video, unlike some big companies are. (Sony, Warner Brother), they don't let their video out here for rest of the world but only in USA. And I thank to “jignam85” to share this nice music video here. Before ALL the French colonization, ALL French colonies were also traditional countries and undeveloped.
I do not know about Tibetan Buddhism since in my place the Buddhism is under Theravada. But I think the basic rules are just the same whether a buddhist is Mahayana,Tantrik,Dhyana Yogachara,Theravadin or whatever they are.People with religion and practicing it whole heartedly are disciplined and respecting others compared to people without one.
@ccrich100 Ikhamo is right, surprisingly, people will still manage to fight and find negativity in the presence of beautiful music The forum on this page is about the beautiful Tibetan music, which I wholeheartedly enjoy. But if you insist to digress and want a guided comparison, first tell me specifically what you think the Japanese did the China in 1930's.
@hyrith “does this copyrigh non-claiming makes china's behaviour toward tibet right?” My point--> just be grateful of that we can still watch this video and it hasn’t been blocked yet, like other big companies do cuz it’s copyrighted! If you have other links for more nice music videos, put them up and be constructive, so everybody is joyful ;)
hi there Happy New year Free tibet this year as of free now. I think the whole world wants peace i do here in america i feel the chinese people in china do to just dictators destroy beautiful things for more power an money. I pray for world peace bless all that are for the freeing of all people's and there land
@david1234lee I was there several years ago, and asked the Tibetan store owners and hotel employees if they had better life right now. They told me "sure". One person who ran a store and his wife worked as a nurse. This was not possible in Dalai's days. For his own political ambition, Dalai ran all over the world and sold himself to the western world that wanted to subvert China. Those were people that occupied China, Hongkong, India, Vietnam, the Philipines,... the last 100 years.
@vilyaarda Tibetan people are pure and innocent, not like those left Tibet, already left no defy feature, already polluted by outsider world, politic, it called,. True Tibetean people don't know about hate, they live in heaven, in purity, u will never understand
I do not believe Tibetan monks attacking people.I have met some of the Tibetan monks when they visit my country two years ago. They are nice and respecting others.
Some day the Tibet will be free of Chinese rule and occupation, until then the people living as a refugees outside of their land will come back to make the Tibet a great nation of peace and prosperity .
@hyrith meditation; if “invade” & “annihilate” are words that how you describe current condition in Tibet, go visit there, and you may find your own “ridiculous paradox”.
Good things about Tibetan culture: their Mahayana tradition, & their art. Allegedly, the Reign of the Lamas was slavery; actually it was more of a feudal system. Though there were many poor during this period, at least everyone had something to eat. When Mao took over many starved. He also perpetuated the execution of many Monks and Lamas. The Tibetans did not want the Monasteries disgraced. The real question is: What is one good thing about the Chinese Occupation of Tibet?
@hyrith dear friend, I will search for the respective soureces and i will sent them to you. i hope you don't mind if some soruces are written in portuguese. mercy beaucoup.
@david1234lee You are wrong. Church and state didn't separated in the Renaissancein the West. For example, it happened only around 1905 in France, and France was the first country to separate them... Before China invasion, Tibet was a traditionnal country, "undevelopped", so it's not fair to compare it at that time to west countries who knew their own dictatorship in the XXth century.
@ccrich100 One can write a book on this subject. Obviously, it cannot be told here in a few paragraphs. Since you have suggested that it's a fair comparison, so why don't you be specific about what is comparable so we can go from there.
@MrPortotibetan that was a bad move, but some got their own benefits, others lost big (even lives). What's done is done, Chinese government have scholars studying, make recordings. I guess they also want to salvage whatever they can find, too. Regards to the title/ logo of vid, well, it's up to "jignam85" who uploaded the song.
@chicanjos You have to understand that he is a political first and a monk second. His political ambition drove him and his religious status is nothing but a shield. In 1949, he was standing with Moe on Tiannamen Square and waved Moe's little book. When he returned to Tibet, he wrote a long poem published in USA praising Moe as a great leader and stressed Tibet as part of China. He late changed his mind when China wanted to do land reform in Tibet and limited his power to religion. H fled!
Never said anything about good versus evil; I had read that you cannot create recordings with major Chinese labels in Tibetan. This was supported by a friend who's been to Tibet. Regardless, I hear these days there's a boom in very tiny labels who have stalls in Lhasa selling Tib music.
@Gwynsek OK, let's drop this topic, finally, I would say, I am a Han Chinese, I hate Commuinist - a europe shit, I love Han culture, I love tibetan culture, I love all 56 ethnics in China. I wish we could join in together to build our beloved beautiful motherland-China, no seperate forever.
Well in that she has to compete with other mainstream Han-chinese singers where the Han language is understood by the majority. there are other labels of minority pop music in Uyghur, Mongolian, Hmong, etc that never became as big. Tibetans are never singled out in that. often they would sing in Han then in their native language.

This is just a beautiful Tibetan song, so enjoy her lovely voices and scenery. Please forget the political issues and don't judge China/ Chinese so rashly, especially if you had never been there or got the truth by your self. please remember: 1+3=4, 2+2 also equal 4. @hyrith So let other countries to deal with its own social-political issues. I think that Dalai Lama has done many good deeds for others. However, if there weren’t any POLITICAL conflict with Chinese government, he wouldn’t need to escape and stayed out of the country. It’s clear from Chinese government that the sovereignty and territorial integrity should be respected by foreign governments and people, so let’s respect it! Other countries want the same respect too! So, let’s enjoy the music!
@MrPortotibetan :D , okeydoke!... if you stayed away I would be on my way too! ;) Wrong person you addressed to, it seems you were replied by "wakamoon369" 3 weeks ago. Regards to Zimbabwe, I have no comments, and cheers....
