Part one, Meet the Extra 300, introduces N105MM with a walk around to look at the powerful airplane and its airframe and engine components.
The Extra 300 Series introduces upset recovery from turning and accelerated stalls-including base-to-final skidded and slipped turns leading to stall/spin scenarios-nose pitched down stall recovery, and aerobatics such as aileron rolls, loops, Cuban eights, split-S maneuvers, and more.
The series is made possible by the generous support of the Hall-Halliburton Foundation. Special thanks to Bruce Williams who donated the Extra 300 to AOPA.

I would have suggested a Champ or a Luscombe as a better route to *practical* proficiency but nobody in their right mind is going to turn down this particular opportunity. My only question is...uh...where's the video? This ends after a walk-around.

I work for a flight school that uses a Citabria for the beginning half of the UPRT course and then an Extra for the last flight. It’s a lot of airplane but once they have the basics down it’s fun to speed it up and bring up the intensity. Plus it’s just fun!

Nice job if you can get it. You get to fly AOPA planes, use AOPA golf carts, motorcycles and bicycles and you get to keep them all in an AOPA hanger.

Please don't do these "half-a-show" videos. Five minutes of "what are we gonna do", only to "close the book shut". Please don't.

100% agree. Splitting a video up into parts like this doesn't work well on UA-cam. It's okay to have multiple videos in a series to cover different topics, but talking about what they're going to do, then ending the video takes it too far.

We hear your concerns! We'll be uploading the rest of the videos in the series shortly.

UAVs are the future. Once the pilot is removed, the sky is the limit.

Ditch the ads. 4 in a 6 minute video is ridiculous, and no reason for it. AOPA gets plenty of money from its members.
