I love when this type of creators make straight to the point videos to problem-solving situations. Because clearly I don't want to spend 10 minutes solving it instead of actually working haha. (Obviously when it's possible, I know some issues need time to be solved)
This didn't work for me. Here's what worked : on the Media page, go to your HD icon at top left, navigate to the folder that contains your individual files - double-click to open this folder and … Bam … the files appear as a sequence, just like that ! Then drag this clip down into the Media Pool, switch to the Edit page and you're good to go.
Thanks! I just did an install and followed another video where it was automatically converted for him but not me. Your video actually had the answer. I guess the other guy already had this setting on and it was working for him, but a brand new install has it turned off by default. Thanks again for the help!
Great! Thank you, it was a really BIG problem. Do you now actually why does RESOLVE do not recognise sequential files .jpg in folder natively without this setting? Other videos starting with "oh look its amazing, resolve already recognised it!"
Thanks! Was trying to make a timelapse the "old way" with Photoshop, and it apparently does not support video on Mac M1 chips (still). Thought maybe I could just do it in Davinci Resolve, but it wasn't playing nicely. Then I found this video, and all is good again!
Thank you very much for this video. It had me scratching my head at first as to how to get an image sequence into DaVinci Resolve. Doesn't work straight out of the box like other software. Great video, straight to the point, and fixed the problem. Thank you once again.
At the bottom of your screen, with davinci open, you'll see various tabs? The one on the left is called MEDIA. Click that - that's the way you get into the Media Storage page.
Um, I watched this video, and it was not helpful. I found that the problem was the naming of my files. Unless they are named with a nice clear sequence trailer, 009, 010 etc, rather than 9, 10, the sequencer quietly failed. So if this doesn't work, carefully check your file naming.
This video really help alot man,, straight to the point ,i was getting frustrating with other long videos just doing the whole intro stuff and wasting time and still not solving the problem 😂👌
Tried importing a 5hr timelapse with 18,000 files and DR said "BUAHAHA". Thank you SO MUCH for this, not sure I would have figured this out myself at all.
I found it still wasn't working but I had to rename all my images that had date/timestamps, and give them a sequential numbering suffix. Then resolve let me use your fix along with the fixed numbering to detect a sequence as a single media item.
For some reason this is not working for me. The strange thing is that It was working just a few days ago. I changed the frame display to sequence jut a few days ago and it worked. Now it's not working.
@@billyanowsky8736 Potentially because 18 is in beta, there may be some bugs. This tip still worked for me, but it might be worth making sure you're on the latest release or doing a reinstall to see if it fixes it. Best of luck!
@@billyanowsky8736 I've played around a lil bit on this one as I am also having this issue. When giving the images the names 1,2,...10.png davinci v17 recognizes it as a sequence. So changing your image names so that davinci knows how to order them should do the trick.
You are a hero, I was trying to import a movie sequence (more than 60.000 tiff files) and Davinci was not responding. This fixed!!!
i started panicking for 100 frames hahaha
Yeah i'm doing 55000 but still getting the spinning ball...

I don't usually post thank-you comments, but this video deserves it. Thanks so much for this tip, it's a genuine life saver!

To be honest, thats retarded. This should be a right click option... Anyway I feel like Resolve is getting less and less usable.

This problem was driving me nuts in DaVinci and I just couldn't figure it out, thank you hero.

sad but true

Bless you! Went through 6 other videos before I found this!
Thank you! Watched a few videos before yours and this one was the only one mentioning this fix! Thumbs up
it would be great if you would have shown how to get into the media storage menue. You seem to just get in there with a hotkey but I cannot find it

@@mrtobycook eventually solved this 7 months ago but big 💗 thanks for taking your time
Finally, solved my problem getting Inspire 3 footage into Resolve - thank you
was trying to import a png sequence from unreal engine 5 and it was driving me insane! you're a lifesaver!
Thanks so much for the visuals and explaining it quickly! This just worked for me when nothing else would.
Just strait to the point. You're a legend bro!
I changed it to Sequence and it STILL imports as individual images. Maddening.
same here - it is outrageous - no matter what i've set active - I'll get images - no sequence

It doesn't work with EXR files for me. Very frustrating.

Thank you! I honestly have no idea why this isn't fixed. Still an issue in 18.5 and quite frankly, ridiculous.

@A-fxs go to the bottom of the layout and you will see it with the rest of the icons: edit, cut, color, fairlight and deliver
Thank you for the super quick video!! Not sure why thats OFF by default but appreciate the easy solution
Exactly what I was looking for, thank you very much!
Thanks a lot, I'm trying to learn Davinci Resolve and the first project I choose to do a timelapse got stuck here
This video really help alot man,, straight to the point ,i was getting frustrating with other long videos just doing the whole intro stuff and wasting time and still not solving the problem 😂👌
Thanks. The out of sequence import was driving me nuts....
Amazing! Struggled with this for an hour!
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! (This also works in v. 19 beta).
Why is this setting so hard to find? Why isn't it the default??? Mutter mumble ... 🙂

Thank you for this, I was wondering why it kept loading it as individual files.
Thank you. I always forget where the command is at.
Just installed the v18 Studio release. Still not importing image sequence as movie clip. End up with individual frames.

For me it does not import this way either..... I set it to "sequence" but it did not help. Is there any other way around ?
